塗布と乾燥の後、摩擦を、FAAのAC CMFE手順を用いて評価した。試験は、24時間後と5日後に行ったが、そうする目的は、時間経過後の表面摩擦の不変性を測定することであった。塗布後の測定値を以下の表8に示す。試験は、FAAのAC 150/5320-12にしたがって行った。

Claims (27)
- a)正電荷を有するように改質されたギルソナイトを含むアスファルト配合物と;
b)一つまたは複数のポリマーと
c)カチオン系界面活性剤を含まない一つまたは複数の界面活性剤とを有する、
飛行場の表面または道路への塗布用の安定なカチオン系エマルジョンと;
飛行場の表面または道路に塗布された安定なカチオン系エマルジョンに塗布される細骨材材料と、
を含む、飛行場の表面または道路用のコーティング系。 - 前記アスファルト配合物が前記エマルジョンの50.0重量%から70.0重量%を構成する、請求項1に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記ギルソナイトが、前記アスファルト配合物の少なくとも20重量%レベルで存在する、請求項1又は2に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記ギルソナイトが、前記エマルジョンの少なくとも10重量%のレベルで存在する、請求項1又は2に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記一つまたは複数のポリマーが、アクリル、スチレンブタジエンゴム、またはそれらの組み合わせである、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記一つまたは複数のポリマーが、前記エマルジョンの1.0重量%から5.0重量%を構成する、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記一つまたは複数の界面活性剤が、前記エマルジョンの0.25重量%から4.0重量%を構成する、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記一つまたは複数の界面活性剤が、非イオン系界面活性剤および両性界面活性剤の少なくとも一つである、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記エマルジョンが、前記エマルジョンの0.25重量%から3.0重量%の間のレベルで存在する改質剤を有する、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記エマルジョンが6.5未満のpHを有する、請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記細骨材材料が、粒子の98重量%から100重量%がNo.14のふるいを通過するような粒子サイズ分布を有する粒子を含む、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記細骨材材料が:
ASTM C1252試験法Aにしたがって測定された、細骨材の少なくとも45%の角張り指数と;
ASTM C128にしたがって測定された、2.6~3.0のバルク乾燥比重と;
ASTM MLN46にしたがって測定された、少なくとも7.0のモース硬度を有する、請求項11に記載のコーティング系。 - 前記細骨材材料が、チャート(chert)、珪岩、および炭酸塩の少なくとも一つを含む、請求項1~12のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。
- 前記アスファルト配合物が、前記エマルジョンの50.0重量%から70.0重量%を構成し、前記ギルソナイトが、前記エマルジョンの少なくとも10重量%のレベルで存在し、
前記一つまたは複数のポリマーが、前記エマルジョンの1.0重量%から5.0重量%を構成し、そして
前記一つまたは複数の界面活性剤が、前記エマルジョンの0.25重量%から4.0重量%を構成する、請求項1~13のいずれか1項に記載のコーティング系。 - アスファルト・セメントをギルソナイトと配合してアスファルト配合物を形成することと;
水と、改質剤と、一つまたは複数の界面活性剤とを含む水溶液を準備し、前記一つまたは複数の界面活性剤のいずれも、カチオン系界面活性剤ではないことと;
前記アスファルト配合物を水溶液と一つにしてカチオン系エマルジョンを形成し、これにより前記ギルソナイトの部分に正電荷を生じさせて、安定なカチオン系エマルジョンを形成するようにすることと;
一つまたは複数のポリマーを前記水溶液または前記カチオン系エマルジョンに添加することと
を含む、安定なカチオン系アスファルト・エマルジョンを製造する方法。 - 前記一つまたはポリマーの添加が、前記アスファルト配合物を前記水溶液と一つにすることに先立って生じる、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記一つまたはポリマーの添加が、前記アスファルト配合物を前記水溶液と一つにした後に生じる、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記アスファルト配合物が、前記エマルジョンの50.0重量%から70.0重量%を構成する、請求項15~17のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ギルソナイトが、前記アスファルト配合物の少なくとも20重量%のレベルで存在する、請求項15~18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記一つまたは複数のポリマーが、アクリル、スチレンブタジエンゴム、またはそれらの組み合わせである、請求項15~19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記一つまたは複数のポリマーが、前記エマルジョンの1.0重量%から5.0重量%を構成する、請求項15~20のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記一つまたは複数の界面活性剤が、前記エマルジョンの0.25重量%から4.0重量%を構成する、請求項15~21のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 塗布装置車両を用いて安定なカチオン系エマルジョンを表面に噴霧し、前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョンが、
a)正電荷を有するように改質されたギルソナイトを含むアスファルト配合物と;
b)一つまたは複数のポリマーと、
c)カチオン系界面活性剤を含まない一つまたは複数の界面活性剤と、を含むことと;
表面に塗布された前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョンに平方ヤードあたり少なくとも1.0重量ポンドの量で細骨材材料を塗布することと
を含む、コーティング系を表面に塗布する方法。 - 前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョンを、表面上に平方ヤードあたり0.10から1.0ガロンの量で噴霧する、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョンを、平方ヤードあたり0.15から0.25ガロンの量で噴霧する、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記細骨材材料を、前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョン上に平方ヤードあたり1.0重量ポンドから平方ヤードあたり5.0重量ポンドの量で塗布する、請求項23~25のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記細骨材材料を塗布すること、および前記安定なカチオン系エマルジョンを塗布することを、同一の塗布装置車両を用いて行う、請求項23~26のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
