Description
本発明の課題は、含浸むらがなく、優れた強度を有する複合材料成形体を与えることのできる複合材料を提供することにある。
本発明の複合材料において、前記繊維状充填材が、炭素繊維及び/又はガラス繊維であることが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記炭化水素系樹脂が、石油樹脂及び/又は石油樹脂の水素化物であることが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記炭化水素系樹脂が、脂環族系石油樹脂及び/又は脂環族系石油樹脂の水素化物であることが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記脂環族系石油樹脂が、シクロペンタジエン系単量体を主成分として重合された樹脂であることが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記シクロオレフィンモノマーが、極性基を有しないシクロオレフィンモノマーであることが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記シクロオレフィンモノマーが、ジシクロペンタジエン類及び四環以上の環状オレフィン類を含有することが好ましい。
本発明の複合材料において、前記重合性組成物が、ラジカル発生剤、ジイソシアネート化合物、及び多官能(メタ)アクリレート化合物から選択される少なくとも1種をさらに含有することが好ましい。
また、本発明によれば、上記本発明の複合材料を硬化させた複合材料成形体が提供される。
ここで、繊維状充填材の代表例としての炭素繊維には、毛羽立ちやハンドリング性を考慮してサイジング剤が付与されている。また、炭素繊維は、布と同様な性状を有するため、形を造るためにはプリフォームが必要とされ、その際にバインダーが使用される。一般に炭素繊維にはエポキシ樹脂が含浸されるため、バインダーとしては通常ポリエステル樹脂が用いられる。しかし、本発明で用いる、シクロオレフィンモノマーは、ポリエステル樹脂をはじいてしまい、そのため、シクロオレフィンモノマーを含む重合性組成物を含浸させると、含浸むらができ、得られる複合材料成形体が強度に劣るものとなってしまう場合があった。

2-ノルボルネン、5-エチリデン-2-ノルボルネン、5-ビニル-2-ノルボルネン、5-フェニル-2-ノルボルネン、アクリル酸5-ノルボルネン-2-イル、メタクリル酸5-ノルボルネン-2-イル、5-ノルボルネン-2-カルボン酸、5-ノルボルネン-2,3-ジカルボン酸、5-ノルボルネン-2,3-ジカルボン酸無水物等のノルボルネン類;
7-オキサ-2-ノルボルネン、5-エチリデン-7-オキサ-2-ノルボルネン等のオキサノルボルネン類;
テトラシクロ[9.2.1.02,10.03,8]テトラデカ-3,5,7,12-テトラエン(1,4-メタノ-1,4,4a,9a-テトラヒドロ-9H-フルオレンともいう)、ペンタシクロ[6.5.1.13,6.02,7.09,13]ペンタデカ-4,10-ジエン、ペンタシクロ[9.2.1.02,10.03,8]ペンタデカ-5,12-ジエン、トリシクロペンタジエン等の四環以上の環状オレフィン類等が挙げられる。
なお、本発明で用いる重合性組成物には、本発明の効果の発現が阻害されない限り、上述したシクロオレフィンモノマーと共重合可能な任意のモノマーが含まれていてもよい。
また、R3、R4、R5及びR6は任意の組合せで互いに結合して環を形成していてもよい。
また、ハロゲン原子、酸素原子、窒素原子、硫黄原子、リン原子又は珪素原子を含んでいてもよい炭素数1~20の有機基の具体例としては、上記一般式(1)及び(2)の場合と同様である。
これらの化合物は、それぞれ単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
なお、重合性組成物には、着色用の顔料の使用や、成形後の耐久性等を考慮し、酸化防止剤、難燃剤、熱安定剤、紫外線吸収剤、光安定剤等の添加剤を適宜配合してもよい。
長さ300mm、幅250mmに切断した一方向炭素繊維(製品名「SNU1230M」、株式会社マジックボックス製、サイジング剤あり、目付200g/m2)の表面に対し、バインダーとしての石油樹脂(製品名「クイントン(登録商標) 1105」、日本ゼオン株式会社製、ジシクロペンタジエンを主成分として重合された脂環族系石油樹脂、軟化点=107℃、Mn=270、Mw=800、Mz=2300)0.15gを粉末状にして、均一にまぶすことで、一方向炭素繊維と石油樹脂との積層体を得た。そして、同じ操作を行うことにより得られた8つの積層体を同一方向に積層し、上方より120℃に温めたアイロンを万遍なく押し当て、全体を溶着させることで、石油樹脂を付着させた炭素繊維を調製した。
離型処理された内寸長さ300mm、幅250mm、深さ4mmのアルミニウム5052製金型に、上記にて得られた石油樹脂を付着させた炭素繊維を配置した。ここで、上記にて得られた石油樹脂を付着させた炭素繊維は、一方向材を同一方向に積層しているため、成形及び硬化後に得られる複合材料成形体は一方向材となる。型を40℃に設定した後、20℃に設定した。
Claims (7)
- 炭化水素系樹脂をバインダーとし、プリフォームされた繊維状充填材に、シクロオレフィンモノマー、メタセシス重合触媒及びジイソシアネート化合物を含む重合性組成物を含浸させた複合材料であって、
前記炭化水素系樹脂が、シクロペンタジエン系単量体を主成分として重合された脂環族系石油樹脂及び/又はシクロペンタジエン系単量体を主成分として重合された脂環族系石油樹脂の水素化物であり、
前記繊維状充填材が、炭素繊維である複合材料。 - 前記シクロオレフィンモノマーが、極性基を有しないシクロオレフィンモノマーである請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 前記シクロオレフィンモノマーが、ジシクロペンタジエン類及び四環以上の環状オレフィン類を含有する請求項1または2に記載の複合材料。
- 前記重合性組成物が、ラジカル発生剤、及び多官能(メタ)アクリレート化合物から選択される少なくとも1種をさらに含有する請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の複合材料。
- 前記プリフォームされた繊維状充填材が、予めサイジング剤が付着した繊維状充填材を、前記炭化水素系樹脂をバインダーとして、プリフォームされたものである請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の複合材料。
- 請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の複合材料を硬化させた複合材料成形体。
- 請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の複合材料を製造する方法であって、
繊維状充填材に、バインダーとしての粉状の前記炭化水素系樹脂を、前記繊維状充填材に振り掛け、予め形状を付与することで、前記繊維状充填材をプリフォームする工程と、
プリフォームした前記繊維状充填材に、シクロオレフィンモノマー及びメタセシス重合触媒を含む重合性組成物を含浸させる工程と、を備える複合材料の製造方法。
