Claims (25)
- 塞栓材料を患者の体内の標的位置に送達するシステムにおいて:
後退位置と、第1ポートに隣接する排出位置との間で移動可能な第1ピストンを具え、流動性の塞栓材料を具える第1チャンバと;
前記第1ピストンに接続され、前記後退位置から前記排出位置へ前記第1ピストンを向けて、前記第1ピストンが前記後退位置から前記排出位置に移動すると、流動性の前記塞栓材料を前記第1チャンバから前記第1ポートへ送達する、第1アクチュエータと;
後退位置と、第2ポートに隣接する排出位置との間で移動可能な第2ピストンを具え、排出位置に向かって移動するように付勢されている、第2チャンバと;
前記第1及び第2のポートと連通しているダイバータであって、前記第1及び第2のポートの間を連通している第1の流路と、前記第1のポートと前記ダイバータの出口との間を連通している第2の流路と、の一方を開く第2のアクチュエータを具える、ダイバータと;
前記塞栓材料が前記第1チャンバと第2チャンバとの間を流れるときに前記塞栓材料を混合する、第1の流路と連通した混合構成要素であって、当該混合構成要素がシーケンシャルに配置された複数の混合要素を具え、当該混合構成要素を通過する前記塞栓材料が、当該混合要素によって混合される混合構成要素と;を具え、
前記第2チャンバおよび前記混合構成要素が、ハウジング内に設けられていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1に記載のシステムにおいて、前記複数の混合要素は、前記塞栓材料が前記第1チャンバと第2チャンバの間を流れるときに前記塞栓材料を混合する一連の静的混合要素を具えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項2に記載のシステムにおいて、前記混合構成要素が、近位端および遠位端を有する細長部材と、前記一連の静的混合要素を収容するルーメンと、を具えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、前記第1チャンバが前記ハウジングの外部にあることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、
a)前記第2のアクチュエータが前記第1の流路を開くと、前記第1のアクチュエータの作動により前記塞栓材料が前記第1チャンバを出て、前記混合構成要素を通って前記第1の流路に沿って通過して前記塞栓材料を混合し、前記第2チャンバに入り、前記第1のアクチュエータが解放されると、前記第2ピストンが自動的に排出位置に戻り、前記塞栓材料を前記第2チャンバから排出させ、前記混合構成要素を通る第1の流路を通過させて前記塞栓材料をさらに混合して、前記第1チャンバ内に送り;
b)その後、前記第2アクチュエータが前記第2流路を開き、前記第1アクチュエータの作動により、前記塞栓材料が前記第1チャンバを出て、前記第2の流路を通って前記出口から出る;
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記ダイバータの出口に接続された管状部材をさらに具え、当該管状部材が、患者の体内に導入されて前記塞栓材料を前記出口から送達する大きさであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記管状部材の前記近位端と前記ダイバータの出口とが、前記近位端と前記出口とを取り外し可能に接続する一又はそれ以上の複数のコネクタを具えることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記管状部材がカテーテルを具え、前記システムがさらに、前記出口と前記カテーテルの近位端との間に延在する、ある長さの可撓性チューブを具えることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記管状部材の前記近位端と前記出口とに接続されたフィルタをさらに具えることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の流路内にフィルタをさらに具えることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記フィルタが、前記塞栓材料を前記管状部材のルーメン内に導入する前に、前記塞栓材料からガスを除去するエアブリードフィルタを具えることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記ハウジングが、操作外科医の手に人間工学的にフィットし、および/または前記第2チャンバおよび前記ダイバータへの直感的なアクセスおよび操作を提供するような外形であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記ダイバータが前記ハウジング内に二方向マニホルドを具えることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のピストンが、作動時にエネルギーを蓄積する前記ハウジング内の機構によって前記排出位置に付勢されていることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のピストンが、前記ハウジング内のばねによって前記排出位置に付勢されていることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記混合要素が、一又はそれ以上のらせん状要素又は分流器を具えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1チャンバがシリンジのバレル内に配置され、前記第1のアクチュエータが、前記バレルから延在して前記第1のピストンに連結されたプランジャを具え、前記プランジャを前進させることで前記第1のピストンを前記後退位置から前記排出位置へ移動させる、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1のポートが、前記プランジャと反対側の前記バレル上の遠位ポートであり、前記システムが、前記遠位ポートから延在し前記ダイバータと連通する延長線部分をさらに具えることを特徴とする、請求項17に記載のシステム。
- 前記シリンジ及び前記プランジャがガラスで形成されており、前記ピストンが前記プランジャの遠位端に一体的に形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項17に記載のシステム。
- 前記ダイバータが、前記第1チャンバの前記第1ポートと連通する第1マニホールドポートと、前記第2チャンバの前記第2ポートと連通する第2マニホールドポートと、前記出口に連通する第3マニホールドポートとを具えることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記混合構成要素が、前記第2のマニホールドポートと前記第2チャンバの前記第2のポートとの間の前記第1の流路に沿って配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項20に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のアクチュエータが、前記マニホールド内の通路が前記第1及び第2のマニホールドポートとの間を連通する第1の位置と、前記マニホールド内の通路が前記第1及び第3のマニホールドポートとの間を連通する第2の位置との間で回転可能なマニホールドに接続されたノブ又はダイヤルであり、それによって第2の流路が開くことを特徴とする、請求項20に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1チャンバ内の前記塞栓材料が液状塞栓懸濁液を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1チャンバ内の前記塞栓材料が、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)と、エチレンビニルアルコール(EVOH)の溶液中の、微粉化タンタルの懸濁液を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の流路と連通する第2の混合構成要素をさらに具えることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。
