Description
本発明は、表面後架橋すること、表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子を分級すること、ロールクラッシャーを使用して分離されたオーバーサイズ画分を解凝集すること、および解凝集されたオーバーサイズ画分を、表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子の分級前または分級中にリサイクルすることを含む、超吸収性ポリマー粒子の製造方法に関する。
a)酸基を有し、かつ少なくとも部分的に中和され得る少なくとも1種のエチレン性不飽和モノマー、
b)少なくとも1種の架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1種の開始剤、
d)任意で、a)に記載されたモノマーと共重合可能な1種以上のエチレン性不飽和モノマー、および
e)任意で、1種以上の水溶性ポリマー
を含む、モノマー溶液または懸濁液を重合すること、
得られたポリマーゲルを乾燥させること、粉砕すること、分級すること、および得られたポリマー粒子を表面後架橋することを含み、ここで、表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、アンダーサイズ画分、ミドルサイズ画分およびオーバーサイズ画分に分級され、オーバーサイズ画分の超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、ロールクラッシャーを使用して解凝集され、解凝集された超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子の分級前または分級中にリサイクルされる、製造方法により達成された。
特に明記しない限り、測定は、周囲温度23±2℃、相対大気湿度50±10%で実施されなければならない。吸水性ポリマーは、測定前に完全に混合される。
吸水性ポリマー粒子の遠心分離保持能力は、EDANA推奨の試験方法番号NWSP241.0.R2(15)“Determination of the Fluid Retention Capacity in Saline Solution by Gravimetric Measurement Following Centrifugation”によって測定され、その際、遠心分離保持能力の値が大きい場合、ティーバッグを使用する必要がある。
吸水性ポリマー粒子の高負荷下での吸収性は、EDANA推奨の試験方法番号WSP NWSP242.0.R2“Gravimetric Determination of Absorption Against Pressure”および49.2g/cm2の圧力によって測定される。
生理食塩水流れ誘導性は、欧州特許出願公開第0640330号明細書に記載されているように、吸水性ポリマー粒子の膨潤ゲル層のゲル層透過性として測定されているが、前述の特許出願の第19頁および図8に記載された装置は、ガラスフリット(40)が使用されなくなるように改変され、プランジャー(39)は、シリンダー(37)と同じポリマー材料からなり、かつそれぞれが接触面全体に均一に分布している直径9.65mmの21個のボアを含む。測定の手順および評価は、欧州特許出願公開第0640330号明細書から変更されていない。流量は自動的に記録される。
SFC[cm3s/g]=(Fg(t=0)×L0)/(d×A×WP)
ここで、Fg(t=0)は、NaCl溶液の流量(g/s)であり、これは、t=0への外挿による流量測定のFg(t)データの線形回帰分析によって取得され、L0は、ゲル層の厚さ(cm)であり、dは、NaCl溶液の密度(g/cm3)であり、Aは、ゲル層の表面積(cm2)であり、WPは、ゲル層の静水圧(dyn/cm2)である。
実施例1
脱イオン水、50重量%の水酸化ナトリウム溶液およびアクリル酸を連続的に混合することにより、中和度が71モル%に相当するように、アクリル酸/アクリル酸ナトリウム溶液を調製した。モノマー溶液の固形分は、41.5重量%であった。

51.12kg/hの過酸化水素水/ペルオキソ二硫酸ナトリウム溶液
25.2kg/hのアスコルビン酸溶液。

のPSDを示した。
Schugi Flexomix(登録商標)(Hosokawa Micron BV、ドゥーティンヘム、オランダ)で、ベースポリマーを表面後架橋剤溶液でコーティングし、次いでNARA(登録商標)パドル乾燥機(GMF Gouda、ワッディンクフェーン、オランダ)にて185℃で45分間乾燥させた。パドル乾燥機を、24バール(220℃)の圧力を有する蒸気で加熱した。

282.75kg/hの表面後架橋剤溶液
実施例1を繰り返した。SXLオーバーを、波形表面および1.00mmのギャップ幅を有するロールクラッシャーを使用して解凝集した。解凝集されたSXLポリマーを、150~850μmの粒径画分まで篩分け、分析した。結果を第1表に示す。

Claims (17)
- 超吸収性ポリマー粒子の製造方法であって、
a)酸基を有し、かつ少なくとも部分的に中和され得る少なくとも1種のエチレン性不飽和モノマー、
b)少なくとも1種の架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1種の開始剤、
d)任意で、a)に記載されたモノマーと共重合可能な1種以上のエチレン性不飽和モノマー、および
e)任意で、1種以上の水溶性ポリマー
を含む、モノマー溶液または懸濁液を重合すること、
得られたポリマーゲルを乾燥させること、粉砕すること、分級すること、および得られたポリマー粒子を表面後架橋することを含み、ここで、前記表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、アンダーサイズ画分、ミドルサイズ画分およびオーバーサイズ画分に分級され、前記オーバーサイズ画分の超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、ロールクラッシャーを使用して解凝集され、前記解凝集された超吸収性ポリマー粒子は、前記表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子の分級前または分級中にリサイクルされ、
前記オーバーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、600~1,200μmのメッシュサイズを有し、
前記アンダーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、100~300μmのメッシュサイズを有する、前記製造方法。 - 前記ロールクラッシャーが、二重歯付きロールクラッシャーである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ロールクラッシャーの表面が、25μm未満の粗さRzを有する、請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記ロールクラッシャーが、1~10mmのギャップ幅を有し、ここで、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップ幅が、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップを形成する2つの表面間の最小距離である、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記オーバーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、700~1,100μmのメッシュサイズを有する、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記アンダーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、120~250μmのメッシュサイズを有する、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップ幅が、前記オーバーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩のメッシュサイズよりも50~800μm大きく、ここで、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップ幅が、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップを形成する2つの表面間の最小距離である、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記アンダーサイズ画分の超吸収性ポリマー粒子が、重合にリサイクルされる、請求項1から7までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子が、タンブリングスクリーン機を使用して分級される、請求項1から8までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記超吸収性ポリマー粒子が、少なくとも15g/gの遠心分離保持能力を有する、請求項1から9までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 粒子をアンダーサイズ画分、ミドルサイズ画分、およびオーバーサイズ画分に分級するための回転篩機、前記オーバーサイズ画分を解凝集するためのロールクラッシャー、および前記回転篩機の前またはその間に前記解凝集された超吸収性ポリマー粒子をリサイクルするためのラインを含み、
前記オーバーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、600~1,200μmのメッシュサイズを有し、
前記アンダーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、100~300μmのメッシュサイズを有する、
表面後架橋された超吸収性ポリマー粒子を整粒するための装置。 - 前記ロールクラッシャーが、二重歯付きロールクラッシャーである、請求項11記載の装置。
- 前記ロールクラッシャーの表面が、25μm未満の粗さRzを有する、請求項11または12記載の装置。

- 前記アンダーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩が、120~250μmのメッシュサイズを有する、請求項11から15までのいずれか1項記載の装置。
- 前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップ幅が、前記オーバーサイズ画分と前記ミドルサイズ画分とを分離するための篩のメッシュサイズよりも50~800μm大きく、ここで、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップ幅が、前記ロールクラッシャーのギャップを形成する2つの表面間の最小距離である、請求項11から16までのいずれか1項記載の装置。
