Description
(a)以下の構造(I)を有するポリマー材料であって、
式中、 Rがアルキル基を表し、 Xが、共有結合した可逆架橋性基を表し、
p、q、およびrは、ポリマー主鎖上の重合度を表し、重合度の総和は50より大きい、ポリマー材料と、
(b)抗菌特性を有する水溶性金属錯体と、
(c)酸化還元活性水溶性化合物と、を含む。
(a)以下の構造(I)を有するポリマー材料であって、
式中、Rが、アルキル基を表し、 Xが、共有結合した可逆架橋性基を表し、
p、q、およびrは、ポリマー主鎖上の重合度を表し、重合度の総和は50より大きい、ポリマー材料と、
(b)抗菌特性を有する水溶性金属錯体と、
(c)酸化還元活性水溶性化合物と、を含む、水性サイジング組成物を開示する。
水性エマルジョンサイジング組成物における水溶性金属錯体の安定性を試験するために、本発明に係る抗菌特性を有する金属錯体を含む当該水性エマルジョンサイジング組成物および比較用サンプルを、以下のように試験した。
-p、q、およびrの総和の100%に基づいて約75%のp、約24%のq、および約1%のrを提供するための、ポリビニルアセテートとポリビニルアルコールとのコポリマー、ホウ酸、およびグリオキサールの混合物から得られる、12%w/vの構造(I)に係るポリマー。
-300ppmの金属錯体、または表1に示される抗菌特性を有する金属錯体。
上記の詳細によって調製した構造(I)を有する12%w/vのポリマー材料と、250ppmの銀(I)ポリアミド錯体と、500ppmのアルドヘキソースとを含む、本発明に係る水性サイジング組成物にアルカリ性金属処理済みケナフを浸漬させた。その後、得られた繊維を乾燥させて約2mmの長さに切断した。
本発明に係る水性サイジング組成物でのコーティングプロセスに供された繊維とポリオレフィンとの適合性を試験するために、当該研究において、以下に詳細により調製された、繊維とポリプロピレン-ポリエチレンブロックコポリマーとの複合材料をサンプルとして使用した。
複合材料の機械的特性を試験するために、以下の複合材料の調製方法により、ポリプロピレンコポリマーおよびポリプロピレンポリマーを、本発明に係る水性サイジング組成物でのコーティングプロセスに供された天然繊維と混合した。
Instron Instrumentモデル5567により、約50mm/分の速度でASTM D638規格の試験の前に3mmの厚みを有する犬の骨の形状に形成されたサンプルを使用して引張強度および引張弾性率を試験した。ゲージ長さは約25mmであった。
Instron Instrumentモデル2810により、曲げ強度および曲げ弾性率を試験した。4点試験を使用して、ASTM D790規格に従って剛性および半剛性材料を評価した。サンプルを射出成形に供して、3mmの厚さ、10mmの幅、および64mmのプレス長さを有する試料を得た。
Instron Instrumentモデル ISO306により、加熱撓み温度を試験した。12.7mmの幅、120mmの長さ、および3mmの厚さを有する試料へと、試料を射出成形により形成した。ASTM D648に従って加熱温度を試験した。
Instron InstrumentモデルCEAST9050により、アイゾット衝撃弾性を試験した。12.7mmの幅、63.5mmの長さ、および3mmの厚さを有する試料へと、得られた複合ペレットを射出成形により形成した。試験の前に、試料を10.16mmの断片に切断した。

Claims (22)
- 熱可塑性物質において補強材料として使用される天然繊維を処理するための水性サイジング組成物であって、前記天然繊維は、原繊維または処理済み繊維であるセルロース系繊維であり、
(a)以下の構造(I)を有するポリマー材料であって、
式中、Rはアルキル基を表し、
Xは、ホウ酸とジアルデヒドとの混合物から得られる共有結合した可逆架橋性基を表し、
p、q、およびrは、ポリマー主鎖上の重合度を表し、p、q、rの合計100%に対してpの割合は70~90%であり、qの割合は10~30%であり、rの割合は0.02~1.25%である、ポリマー材料と、
(b)抗菌特性を有する水溶性金属錯体と、
(c)酸化還元活性水溶性化合物と、を含む
水性サイジング組成物。 - Rが、直鎖アルキル基、分岐アルキル基、または環状アルキル基から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- Rが、メチル基またはプロピル基から選択される直鎖アルキル基である、請求項2に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- ホウ酸対ジアルデヒドの比が、モル基準に基づいて1:2~1:4の範囲内である、請求項1に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- 前記ジアルデヒドが、グリオキサール、スクシンジアルデヒド、グルタルアルデヒド、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項1または4に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- 前記水溶性金属錯体が、銅錯体、銀錯体、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- 前記水溶性金属錯体が、ポリアミンまたはアミノカルボン酸塩から選択される配位子を含む、請求項1または6に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- 前記酸化還元活性水溶性化合物が、アルドヘキソース、アルドペントース、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- さらに、前記ポリマー材料を7~15重量体積パーセント(% w/v)、前記水溶性金属錯体を50~750百万分率(ppm)、および前記酸化還元活性水溶性化合物を100~1500百万分率(ppm)含む、請求項1に記載の水性サイジング組成物。
- 熱可塑性物質において補強材料として使用される天然繊維の調製プロセスであって、前記天然繊維は、原繊維または処理済み繊維であるセルロース系繊維であり、
(1)水性サイジング組成物であって、
(a)以下の構造(I)を有するポリマー材料であって、
式中、Rはアルキル基を表し、
Xは、ホウ酸とジアルデヒドとの混合物から得られる共有結合した可逆架橋性基を表し、
p、q、およびrは、ポリマー主鎖上の重合度を表し、p、q、rの合計100%に対してpの割合は70~90%であり、qの割合は10~30%であり、rの割合は0.02~1.25%である、ポリマー材料と、
(b)抗菌特性を有する水溶性金属錯体と、
(c)酸化還元活性水溶性化合物と、を含む、水性サイジング組成物を用いて前記天然繊維をコーティングする段階と、
(2)(1)で得られた前記天然繊維を加熱により乾燥させて、使用のために好適なサイズに切断する段階と、を含む、プロセス。 - Rが、直鎖アルキル基、分岐アルキル基、または環状アルキル基から選択される、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- Rが、メチル基またはプロピル基から選択される直鎖アルキル基である、請求項11に記載のプロセス。
- ホウ酸対ジアルデヒドの比が、モル基準で1:2~1:4の範囲内である、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ジアルデヒドが、グリオキサール、スクシンジアルデヒド、グルタルアルデヒド、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項10または13に記載のプロセス。
- 前記水溶性金属錯体が、銅錯体、銀錯体、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 前記水溶性金属錯体が、ポリアミンまたはアミノカルボン酸塩から選択される配位子を含む、請求項10または15に記載のプロセス。
- 前記酸化還元活性水溶性化合物が、アルドヘキソース、アルドペントース、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ポリマー材料を7~15重量体積パーセント(% w/v)、前記水溶性金属錯体を50~750百万分率(ppm)、および前記酸化還元活性水溶性化合物を100~1500百万分率(ppm)含む、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 段階(1)の前記天然繊維の前記コーティングが、50℃未満の温度の前記水性サイジング組成物に前記天然繊維を浸漬させることによって実行される、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 段階(2)の加熱による前記乾燥は、80℃と等しいかまたはそれより高い温度で操作される、請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 加熱による前記乾燥が、80~140℃の範囲内の温度で操作される、請求項20に記載のプロセス。
- 前記天然繊維が、ケナフ、ジュート、ヘンプ、またはそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項10から21のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
