- 使い捨て式乾燥チャンバを使用して噴霧乾燥する方法であって、
ガス出口を有するガス通路を画定する入口導管と、前記ガス通路から横方向に延びる間隔部材と、を備えるガス入口マニホールドを用意することと、
前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバを前記横方向に延びる間隔部材に固定して、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの入口端部の内面と前記ガス通路の外面との間の間隙を確立すること、ここで、前記入口導管の少なくとも一部は使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの内部に延びて、これによって前記ガス通路の前記ガス出口が前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に配置される、と、
噴霧液を、噴霧液通路を通して前記ガス出口に隣接して配置されたアトマイザに導くことと、ただし、前記噴霧液通路は、噴霧液リザーバに結合された近位部分と、前記アトマイザに結合された遠位部分を備え、
前記アトマイザを使用して複数の液滴を形成し、前記複数の液滴を前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導くことと、
乾燥ガスを、前記ガス通路を通して前記ガス出口から前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導入して、前記複数の液滴を少なくとも部分的に乾燥させ、複数の噴霧乾燥粒子を形成することと、
前記噴霧乾燥粒子を前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの出口から外に導くことと、
を含み、
前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバが、ポリマー材料を含む内面を有する、
方法。 - 前記間隔部材は、前記ガス通路の外面から十分に延びて、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの前記入口端部の前記内面と前記ガス通路の前記外面との間に前記ガス通路の半径の50%より大きく、かつ200%未満の長さの円周間隙を確立する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記間隔部材は、前記ガス通路の外面から十分に延びて、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの前記入口端部の前記内面と前記ガス通路の前記外面との間に前記ガス通路の半径の75%より大きく、かつ200%未満の長さの円周間隙を確立する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記間隔部材は、前記ガス通路の外面から十分に延びて、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ
の前記入口端部の前記内面と前記ガス通路の前記外面との間に前記ガス通路の半径の100%より大きく、かつ200%未満の長さの円周間隙を確立する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記乾燥ガスは、100℃より高い温度で前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導入される、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記乾燥ガスは、150℃より高い温度で前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導入される、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記乾燥ガスは、200℃より高い温度で前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導入される、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー材料は、熱可塑性材料である、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー材料は、可撓性材料であり、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内への前記乾燥ガスの導入が、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバを膨張させて、密閉容積を画定する、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー材料は、内層を形成し、前記内層は、外層によって少なくとも部分的に囲まれており、
前記外層は、前記第1の層とは異なる材料を含む、
請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記ポリマー材料は300℃以下の融点を有する、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記噴霧液を、前記アトマイザに導かれる前に無菌濾過する工程と、
前記乾燥ガスを、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に導入される前に無菌濾過する工程と、
前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバを、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバの前記円周面を前記ガス入口マニホールドの前記横方向に延びる間隔部材に固定する前に無菌包装から取り出す工程と、
のうちの1つ以上を実行することを更に含む、
請求項1~11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記ガス通路の少なくとも一部分を、前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に延ばし、それにより前記ガス通路の前記ガス出口を前記使い捨て式乾燥チャンバ内に位置決めする、請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
