Description
式(1),(2)から、MM導波路の実効幅Weの変化と、波長λ0を釣り合わせることにより、すなわち、
図13に、本発明の第2の実施形態にかかるRGBカプラの構造を示す。第1の実施形態で示したMMIをGBカプラ1とし、その後段にR光を合波するための導波路2とモードカプラ3とを配置する。モードカプラ3の構成は、図1に示したモードカプラB(非特許文献4参照)と同じである。
図15に、本発明の第3の実施形態にかかるRGBカプラの構造を示す。第1の実施形態で示したMMIをGBカプラ1とし、その後段にR光を合波するための導波路2と方向性結合器4とを配置することにより、RGBカプラを実現することもできる。

Claims (5)
- シングルモードの2本の入力導波路が間隔をおいて接続されたマルチモード導波路と、前記マルチモード導波路の前記入力導波路が接続された面と対向する面に間隔をおいて接続されたシングルモードの2本の出力導波路とから構成される光合波器であって、
前記マルチモード導波路の幅は、2本の前記入力導波路の幅とその間隔を足した幅より細く、前記入力導波路の一方に入力された第1の波長の光と、前記入力導波路の他方に入力された第2の波長の光とが、前記マルチモード導波路において0次と1次のモードのみを発生するように、かつ、前記マルチモード導波路の実効幅の波長に対する変化量が、前記第1の波長と前記第2の波長の間の波長において一定となるように設定され、
前記入力導波路と前記マルチモード導波路との間および前記マルチモード導波路と前記出力導波路との間は、テーパー導波路により接続されていることを特徴とする光合波器。 - 前記マルチモード導波路と前記テーパー導波路の幅は、光の伝搬方向に沿って変化し、
前記入力導波路から前記テーパー導波路への入力端から所望の入力モードフィールドをもつ光を順方向に伝搬させ、前記テーパー導波路から前記出力導波路への出力端から所望の出力モードフィールドをもつ光を逆方向に伝搬させ、前記マルチモード導波路内の任意の点において、2つの光の波面が整合するように導波路の幅が変化していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光合波器。 - 前記入力導波路の一方に入力される第1の波長の光は、波長467±10nmの青光であり、前記入力導波路の他方に入力された第2の波長の光は、波長523.5±18.5nmの緑光であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の光合波器。
- 請求項3に記載の光合波器と、
前記出力導波路の一方に接続されたモードカプラとを備え、
前記モードカプラに結合される入力導波路に第3の波長の光である630±10nmの赤光が入力されることを特徴とするRGBカプラ。 - 請求項3に記載の光合波器と、
前記出力導波路の一方に接続された方向性結合器とを備え、
前記方向性結合器の入力導波路に第3の波長の光である630±10nmの赤光が入力されることを特徴とするRGBカプラ。
