Description

多孔質カラートナー粒子が赤外線波長帯内の放射の5%未満を吸収するトナーカバレッジ感知システムを提示する。

Claims (3)
- 電子写真印刷システムを使用してプロセス素子の表面上に印刷されたトナー粒子を感知するためのトナーカバレッジ感知システムであって、前記印刷されたトナー粒子が、印刷された多孔質カラートナー粒子を含み、
前記プロセス素子の前記表面上の前記印刷されたトナー粒子に対して赤外線波長帯の赤外放射を向ける赤外放射源、および
前記印刷された多孔質カラートナー粒子から散乱された赤外放射を前記プロセス素子の前記表面上で感知するための拡散放射検出器であって、感知した前記赤外放射が前記プロセス素子の前記表面からの鏡面反射を含まないように配向される拡散放射検出器
を含む光学的感知システムと、
感知した前記散乱赤外放射に応答して、前記プロセス素子の前記表面上の、前記多孔質カラートナー粒子について感知したトナーカバレッジを決定するデータ処理システムと
を備え、
前記印刷された多孔質カラートナー粒子が前記赤外線波長帯内の放射の5%未満を吸収する、トナーカバレッジ感知システム。 - 前記赤外線波長帯が850~1050nmの範囲のピーク波長を有する請求項1に記載のトナーカバレッジ感知システム。
- 前記印刷された多孔質カラートナー粒子からの感知した前記散乱赤外放射が、前記印刷された多孔質カラートナー粒子と同一の顔料および樹脂と、ほぼ同等の粒子幾何形状およびトナーカバレッジとを有する、印刷された非多孔質カラートナー粒子について感知されるはずのものよりも少なくとも20%高い請求項1に記載のトナーカバレッジ感知システム。
