Claims (21)

前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構をアクティブ化して、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構の過渡状態を生じさせ、次いで定常状態を生じさせる、ステップであって、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構の定常状態は、前記少なくとも1つのシリンダに十分なエンジン・ブレーキが促進される定常状態位置に、前記排気弁のリフトを与える、ステップと、
前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構が前記定常状態になるまで前記ロスト・モーション装置のアクティブ化を遅延させるステップと
を含む、方法。 - 前記遅延させるステップが、所定の時間量だけ遅延させるステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、少なくとも1つのエンジン動作パラメータに基づいて遅延時間を決定するステップを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構及び前記ロスト・モーション装置が液圧式に作動される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- エンジン・ブレーキ機構液圧回路への液圧流がエンジン・ブレーキ機構ソレノイド弁によって制御され、ロスト・モーション装置液圧回路における液圧流がロスト・モーション装置ソレノイド弁によって制御される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構ソレノイド弁に対して前記ロスト・モーション装置ソレノイド弁のアクティブ化を遅延させるステップを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構ソレノイド弁及び前記ロスト・モーション装置ソレノイド弁の応答時間が異なることによって容易になる、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構ソレノイド弁及び前記ロスト・モーション装置ソレノイド弁における流量が異なることによって容易になる、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの比例弁により、エンジン・ブレーキ機構液圧回路における流量及びロスト・モーション装置液圧回路における流量が制御される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの比例弁が複数の出口ポートを有し、それにより、前記少なくとも1つの比例弁を用いて、前記ロスト・モーション装置液圧回路及び前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構液圧回路へと前記複数の出口ポートを介して多段式に液圧圧力を供給することが可能になる、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記比例弁により、前記比例弁への入力信号に基づいて、前記ロスト・モーション装置及び前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構に選択的に液圧流体を供給することが可能になる、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、最小圧力を満足させるまで前記ロスト・モーション装置への流れを防止する流出防止装置によって容易になる、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、ロスト・モーション装置液圧回路内の制限流路によって容易になる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、エンジン・ブレーキ機構液圧回路の流路と比較して長いロスト・モーション装置液圧回路の流路によって容易になる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、ブレーキ機構液圧回路とロスト・モーション装置液圧回路との間に設けられたスプール弁によって容易になる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構の運動を使用してロスト・モーション装置液圧回路内の流れを選択的に妨げることによって容易になる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構のアクチュエータ・ピストンによって流れが選択的に妨げられる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記アクチュエータ・ピストンが、前記アクチュエータ・ピストンの運動に基づいてブレーキ機構液圧回路とロスト・モーション装置液圧回路との間の流体連通を選択的に可能にするための凹部を含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記遅延させるステップが、前記ロスト・モーション装置及び前記ブレーキ機構をアクティブ化するのに必要とされる作動圧力が異なることによって容易になる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ロスト・モーション装置がロスト・モーション装置ばねを含み、前記ブレーキ機構がブレーキ機構ばねを含み、前記ロスト・モーション装置のアクティブ化の遅延が、前記ロスト・モーション装置ばねと前記ブレーキ機構ばねとの間でばね力が異なることによって容易になる、請求項19に記載の方法。

前記少なくとも1つの排気弁にメイン・イベント・運動を生じさせるために前記内燃機関を動作するステップと、
エンジン・ブレーキ・コマンドに応じて、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構をアクティブ化するステップであって、前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構は、前記少なくとも1つのシリンダに十分なエンジン・ブレーキが促進される定常状態位置に、前記少なくとも1つの排気弁のリフトを与える、ステップと、
前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構のアクティブ化の後で、過渡状態のエンジン・ブレーキ機構を動作するステップであって、少なくとも1つの排気弁が前記定常状態位置に移行する、ステップと、
前記エンジン・ブレーキ機構が前記定常状態位置に前記少なくとも1つの排気バルブをリフトさせるまで前記ロスト・モーション装置のアクティブ化を遅延させるステップと、
を含む、方法。
