- プロトン交換膜(2)と、前記プロトン交換膜の第1面と接触するカソード(31)とを含む膜電極接合体(14)と、
その間に前記膜電極接合体(14)が配置され、前記カソードと連通する少なくとも1つの第1フローコレクタ(596)によって横切られる2つのバイポーラプレート(5)と、
を備える燃料電池であって、
前記膜電極接合体(14)は、前記カソード(31)によって覆われた第1活性領域(21)と、前記カソード(31)によって覆われていない、前記第1フローコレクタ(596)と第1活性領域との間に配置された第1接続領域(22)とを含み、
前記膜電極接合体(14)は、第1接続領域(22)に配置された第1親水性要素(71)をさらに含み、
前記バイポーラプレート(5)は、第2フローコレクタ(592)によって横切られており、
前記膜電極接合体(14)は、前記プロトン交換膜(2)の第2面と接触するアノード(32)を含み、前記膜電極接合体(14)は、前記アノード(32)によって覆われた第2活性領域と、前記アノードによって覆われていない、前記第2フローコレクタ(592)と第2活性領域との間に配置された第2接続領域とを含み、

前記第1フローコレクタ(596)から供給された酸化剤の流れと、前記第2フローコレクタに向かう燃料の流れとは対向し、
前記プロトン交換膜(2)及び前記第1親水性要素(71)に取り付けられた補強材(61)をさらに備え、前記補強材は、前記第1親水性要素(71)がアクセス可能な第1開口部(617)と、前記カソード(31)がアクセス可能な第2開口部(610)とを含み、
前記補強材(61)は、前記プロトン交換膜(2)を前記第1親水性要素(71)から分離する、

前記膜電極接合体(14)は、第3接続領域に配置された第2親水性要素(72)をさらに含み、
