Description
本出願は、2014年5月30日に出願された、「Systems for Treating Wastewater」と題する米国仮特許出願第62/005,846号の出願の優先権および利益を主張する。この出願の明細書、図面、および特許請求の範囲は、参照することにより、本明細書に組み込まれる。
本明細書および特許請求の範囲において使用される場合、以下の用語は以下のように定義される。
本発明の実施形態には、再使用用途のための任意の用途からの廃水を処理するためのプラットフォーム処理システムが含まれる。このシステムはオプションで以下のシステム:洗濯廃水再利用のための膜ベースの洗浄水再利用システム、洗車の廃水の再利用システム、ワインの水の再利用システム、ビールの廃水の再利用システム、日常の水の再利用システム、部品の洗浄システム;生物学的消化の廃水、冷却およびボイラのための膜ベースの廃水の再利用システム;部品、タンク、車、衣類などの洗浄からの廃水の膜ベースの再利用システムの内の1つを備えるか、または、オプションで廃棄物がさらに処理され、かつ/または他の用途に使用される、再生、濾過、および再使用を含む水の再利用のためのシステムおよびプロセスを備える。このシステムは、好ましくは、3つのサブシステム:再生サブシステムと、濾過サブシステムと、戻しサブシステムと、を備えている。再生サブシステムは、廃水が濾過サブシステムおよび戻しサブシステムに入ることを防止する。廃水が濾過サブシステムおよび戻しサブシステムに入ると、(i)それらシステムが適切に作動することが妨げられ得、(ii)それらシステムに損傷を与え得、(iii)それらシステムによって処理されないか処理され得ず、または、(iv)再使用から処理されることが法律上認められない。処理することができない廃水の例には、酸化電位が500mV超である廃水、2ppm超である遊離塩素を含む廃水、直径が1”より大きい粒子を含む廃水、または、シャツの襟の芯、ボタン、および/もしくはハンガを含む廃水が含まれる。廃水の処理の困難性には、華氏105度を超える廃水、または、汚水発生源(動物の廃棄物を含む)からの廃水が含まれる。汚水の例には、トイレ、シンク、およびキッチンからの下水(sewage)が含まれる。洗濯廃水の処理に関して、このことは好ましくは、4つの構成要素を使用して達成される。第1の1つまたは複数のタンクが洗濯機の排水管の下に配置される。タンクは好ましくは、別のタンク、または排水管のいずれかに排水する。複数のタンクが共に繋がっている場合、最も下のタンクが好ましくは、排水管を有するように備えている。ポンプは好ましくは、タンクまたは(複数のタンクが共に繋がっている場合には)複数のタンクの最も低い場所に配置される。ポンプは、限定されないが、排水ポンプ、放流ポンプ、下水ポンプ、または井戸ポンプとすることができる。ポンプは、メッシュ、ストレーナ、および/またはフィルタスクリーンにより、ブラジャのワイヤ、ボタン、襟の芯などの大きい物体から保護され得る。保護バリアのための開口のサイズは、好ましくは、0.04インチ(1.016mm)より大きく、かつ、2インチ(50.8mm)未満である。ポンプは、廃水の品質を測定する1つまたは複数のプローブに繋がれ得る。プローブは、水の伝導度、濁度、イオン濃度、酸化電位、濁度、および/または他のパラメータを継続的に測定することができる。代替的には、廃水は、システムの作動要求を満たすように処理され得る。例では、二亜硫酸ナトリウム(メタ重亜硫酸ナトリウム)などの酸化防止剤を投入することにより、酸化電位が500mV未満に低減され、熱交換器を使用して温度が低減され、(バクテリアおよびウイルスなどの)生物学剤が2つのステップの酸化および酸化中和プロセスを介して中和され得る。本発明では、伝導度が濁度の間接的測定として使用され得ることを示す、濁度と電気伝導度との相関関係を示す。
透過液の濁度は2NTU未満であり、これは、このため、洗濯用途において水が媒体ベッド(媒体層)を通して濾過された場合の、消毒済み三次再利用水に関する、カリフォルニアの再使用の水の要件を満たしている。

●洗剤の補充および水の浄化
○54”の要素/18”の要素毎に15ガロン
●洗剤水を3から20分間再循環させる
○オプションの加熱
○洗浄の効果が再循環圧力を介して間接的に測定される
●バルブを開くことによるタンクの排水
●1xから3xの洗浄体積の膜のフラッシュ
○バックフラッシュ(濾過とは逆向きに水が流れるが膜を通過しない)を介して達成できる
●バックフラッシュまたはバックウォッシュ
○バックフラッシュ(定義(def))−濾過とは逆向きに水が流れるが膜を通過しない
○バックウォッシュ(定義(def))−濾過とは逆向きに水が流れ、膜を通過する
●洗濯のためのクレンザ(洗浄剤)には、以下が含まれる。
○UF膜のためのTideなどの、商業上利用可能な洗剤
○RO膜のためのCLRなどの、商業上利用可能なスケール防止剤(antiscalant)
本発明の実施形態は、システム内の膜が少なくとも部分的にゾルゲル材料を含む、1つまたは複数の膜の濾過ステップを含む、水の処理に使用されるシステムである。水の処理のために、本システムは、好ましくは、前処理ステップと脱塩ステップとの2つのステップを含む。前処理ステップは、好ましくは、固形物と、濁度の80%超が除去される。脱塩ステップにより、塩度の50%超が除去される。いずれか一方または両方の膜がゾルゲル前駆物質から得られ、好ましくは、安定化した界面活性剤を含み、および/または、安定化された界面活性剤のメソ構造または膜である。フィルタとして使用され、好ましくはゾルゲル、界面活性剤、またはそれら両方を備えているこれら膜は、本明細書において、AM、すなわち改良された膜(advanced membranes)と呼ばれる。回復の割合は、流入水に対する処理された水の割合である。以下の表は、以下のプロセスのフロー図(PFD)における各要素のためのシンボルキーであり、これらは、本発明に係るPFDの特定の非限定的な実施形態である。
図15から16は、PFDがPFD2に類似しているシステムからの濾過データを示す図である。このシステムは、2つの膜M1およびM2を備えていた。このシステムはM3またはO1を含んでいなかった。M1はAMとした。M2はAMではないものとした。水質は、伝導度メータを使用して毎日測定した。流入する廃水は、商業上利用可能な55ポンドの洗濯機からのものとした。M1ステップの後の水質は、電気伝導度および濁度の測定を使用して定量化した。濾過の前後の水質の差異は、表8にまとめられている。
Claims (15)
- 廃水流入水を調整タンク内に固形廃棄物フィルタを通して流入させることと、
前記廃水流入水が10ppm〜100,000ppmの界面活性剤濃度を有するように、前記調整タンク内の前記廃水流入水に少なくとも1種の界面活性剤を添加することと、
前記廃水流入水を前記少なくとも1種の界面活性剤と乳化することと、
前記調整タンクの後に、前記廃水流入水を、渦巻き要素を含む限外濾過膜を通過させることと、
前記限外濾過膜を、バックフラッシング、バックウォッシング、フォワードフラッシング又はフォワードウォッシングの少なくとも1つによって洗浄することと、
前記限外濾過膜からの透過水を、逆浸透膜を通過させることと、
前記逆浸透膜からの透過水を、媒体ベッドフィルタを通過させることであって、前記媒体ベッドフィルタからの透過水が300ppm未満の総溶解固形分を有し、8.4〜10.9のpHを有することと、
を含む廃水の処理方法。 - 前記廃水流入水中の浮遊固形物及び/又は溶解固形物を乳化することをさらに含む、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記逆浸透膜からの前記透過水は、調整タンクを通ることなしに前記媒体ベッドフィルタに輸送される、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記限外濾過膜からの前記透過水は、調整タンクを通ることなしに前記逆浸透膜に輸送される、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記廃水流入水が前記限外濾過膜を通過する前に、前記廃水流入水を濾過することを含む第2の濾過ステップを含む、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の濾過ステップは精密濾過を含む、
請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記廃水流入水が前記限外濾過膜を通過する前の前記廃水流入水の濾過は、前記廃水流入水から固形物を除去する、
請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の濾過ステップは、前記廃水流入水を、5ミクロンから300ミクロンの孔径を有するフィルタを通過させることを含む、
請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の濾過ステップは、前記廃水流入水を、サブ100ミクロンのフィルタを通過させることを含む、
請求項7に記載の方法。 - 圧力センサを使用して、前記限外濾過膜からの前記透過水の圧力を検出することによって、前記限外濾過膜からの前記透過水を、前記逆浸透膜を通過させることを含む、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記逆浸透膜上の供給圧力及び/又は濃縮水の総溶解固形分(TDS)濃度に応じて、前記逆浸透膜から濃縮水を廃棄することをさらに含む、
