Description
いくつかの実施形態において、本発明の水性インク組成物は、水と;任意要素の共溶媒と;任意要素の着色剤と;イオン性ポリマー−金属コンポジットとを含み、イオン性ポリマー−金属コンポジットのナノ粒子は、抗菌効果、抗真菌効果、抗ウイルス性の殺生物効果、またはこれらの組み合わせのために金属イオンを運ぶための容器として作用する。特定の実施形態において、コンポジットナノ粒子は、コアとシェルとを有し、コアは、スチレン/アクリレートポリマーコア樹脂を含み、場合により金属を含み、シェルは、金属を含む。

いくつかの実施形態において、スチレンとアクリレートモノマーを重合させ、コンポジットスチレン/アクリレート−金属イオンイオノマー樹脂を含むラテックスを作製する方法が本明細書で提供される。イオノマーは、金属イオンと錯体を形成可能な酸性基を含む部分を有する主に中性のモノマーを含むポリマーであり、すなわち、このようなモノマーは帯電している。
本明細書の実施形態は、金属イオン(例えば、銀イオン)がコア−シェル樹脂粒子のシェルに(場合により、コアにも)固定される、コンポジットナノ粒子を合成する方法を提供する。金属コンポジットイオノマーをシェルに配置すると、例えば、抗微生物性またはセンサのような用途に銀イオンを利用可能にする。コンポジットナノ粒子から作られる材料としては、限定されないが、水性インク、乾燥インク、トナー、添加剤コンポジット、三次元プリンタのためのコンポジット、グラビア印刷インク、塗料などが挙げられる。
本発明の抗菌性水性インク組成物は、自己分散するポリマー性金属コンポジットを含む。ポリマー性金属コンポジットは、環境に優しい方法、すなわち、グリーンケミストリーによって調製される。
いくつかの実施形態において、イオン性ポリマー金属ナノコンポジットは、抗菌性用途のためにインク組成物に組み込まれる。インク組成物によって、カスタマイズ可能なデジタル化された抗菌性印刷が可能になる。用途の例としては、限定されないが、医療用デバイス(カテーテル、温度計および他の医療用デバイスを含む)のコード、ラベルまたはロゴの印刷、メニュー、食品包装材料、化粧用品および製品への印刷、および衛生的な表面が望ましい任意の用途が挙げられる。

本発明のインク組成物は、着色剤も含んでいてもよい。本明細書の実施形態において、顔料、染料、染料分散物、顔料分散物、およびこれらの混合物およびこれらの組み合わせを含め、任意の適切な着色剤または望ましい着色剤を使用してもよい。

インク組成物は、さらに、架橋剤を含んでいてもよい。いくつかの実施形態において、架橋剤は、有機アミン、ジヒドロキシ芳香族化合物、イソシアネート、ペルオキシド、金属酸化物など、およびこれらの混合物であってもよい。架橋剤は、インク組成物から作られる画像の物理特性をさらに高めることができる。架橋剤は、任意の望ましい量または効果的な量で、いくつかの実施形態において、インク組成物の合計重量を基準として、約0.1〜約20重量%、または5〜約15重量%の量で存在していてもよい。
インク組成物は、添加剤をさらに含んでいてもよい。インク組成物中に含まれてもよい任意要素の添加剤としては、殺生物剤、抗真菌剤、pH制御剤、例えば、酸または塩基、リン酸塩、カルボン酸塩、亜硫酸塩、アミン塩、バッファー溶液など、捕捉剤、例えば、EDTA(エチレンジアミン四酢酸)、粘度調整剤、レベリング剤など、およびこれらの混合物が挙げられる。

初期溶液のために、還流凝縮器、オーバーヘッドスターラー、窒素出口を取り付けた3ッ口丸底フラスコ中、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム(SLS)を脱イオン水(dH2O)に溶解し、70℃まで加熱した(200RPM)。ビーカーにスチレン、アクリル酸N−ブチルおよび1−ドデカンチオール(DDT)を加えることによって、コアモノマー混合物を調製した。SLSをdH2Oに溶解し、このコアモノマー混合物に加えた。5分間、すばやく機械的に攪拌しつつ、モノマーを乳化させ、その後、5分間休止し、これを2回繰り返し、合計で3回行った。実施例1について、7.71グラムのコアモノマー混合物、実施例2について、4.61グラムのコアモノマー混合物を、種として上の反応器に加えた。1.38グラムの過硫酸カリウム(ペルオキシジサルフェート、KPSとしても知られる)および0.74グラムの炭酸水素ナトリウムを13.0グラムのdH2Oに溶解することによって開始剤を調製し、上の反応器に滴下した。残りのコアモノマーエマルションをポンプによって0.7グラム/分の速度で上の反応器に供給した。銀(Ag)メタクリレートをメタクリル酸メチルに溶解し、DDTを加えることによって、シェルモノマー混合物を調製した。SLSをH2Oに溶解し、シェルモノマー混合物に加えた。5分間、すばやく機械的に攪拌しつつ、シェルモノマーを乳化させ、その後、5分間休止し、これを2回繰り返し、合計で3回行った。実施例1について、2.17グラムのシェルモノマー混合物、実施例2について、1.00グラムのシェルモノマー混合物を、種として上の反応器に加えた。0.35グラムのKPSおよび0.184グラムの炭酸水素ナトリウムを3.3グラムのdH2Oに溶解することによって開始剤を調製し、上の反応器に滴下した。残りのシェルモノマーエマルションを上の反応器に滴下した(240RPM)。反応を70℃で一晩進めた(200RPM)後にラテックスを室温まで冷却し、25マイクロメートル(μm)のふるいによってふるい分けした。実施例1および実施例2のラテックスの最終的な外観は、両方とも暗灰色の不透明エマルションであった。
表4に記載される成分を含む、実施例1のラテックスを含有する実施例3の水性インクを以下のように調製した。ラテックス、水およびトリエタノールアミンを250ミリリットル褐色ガラス瓶に加え、その後、300RPMで2分間攪拌した。ジエチレングリコール、1,5−ペンタンジオールおよびグリセロールを加え、混合物を500RPMで1分間攪拌した。次に、2−エチル−1−ヘキサノールおよびポリエチレンオキシド(PEO、MW=20kDa)を加え、混合物を500RPMでさらに1分間攪拌した。界面活性剤A−008、104HおよびS761p(有効固形分34%)を上のインクに加え、混合物を500RPMで45分間攪拌した。次いで、インクを3000RPMで5分間均質化し、試験前に0.45ミクロンフィルタによって濾過した。
表5に記載される成分を含む、実施例2のラテックスを含有する実施例4の水性インクを実施例3の水性インクにおいて記載したように調製した。
Claims (13)
- 水性インク組成物であって、
水と;
任意要素の共溶媒と;
任意要素の着色剤と;
コアとシェルを有するコンポジットナノ粒子とを含み、
前記コアは、コア樹脂を含み、場合により銀を含み、
前記シェルは、銀イオンポリマー樹脂を含み、
前記コア樹脂は、ポリ(スチレン−アクリル酸アルキル)、ポリ(スチレン−メタクリル酸アルキル)およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択され、
前記銀イオンポリマー樹脂は、銀アクリレート、銀メタクリレート、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマーと、スチレン、アクリル酸アルキル、メタクリル酸アルキルおよびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマーとから形成される、水性インク組成物。 - 前記コンポジットナノ粒子のコア樹脂が、ポリ(スチレン−アクリル酸ブチル)、ポリ(スチレン−メタクリル酸ブチル)、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- コンポジットナノ粒子において、銀は、0.5ppm〜5,000ppmの濃度で存在する、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記コンポジットナノ粒子は、体積平均粒径が、10〜600ナノメートルである、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 任意要素の前記コアの金属が存在する、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 任意要素の前記コアの金属が存在する場合、前記シェルの金属が、銀および1つ以上の他の金属を含むコンポジットを含むか、
任意要素の前記コアの金属が存在する場合、前記シェルの金属が、銀および1つ以上の非金属を含むコンポジットを含むか、または、
任意要素の前記コアの金属が存在する場合、前記シェルの金属が、銀、1つ以上の他の金属および1つ以上の非金属を含むコンポジットを含む、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。 - 前記着色剤が存在し、前記着色剤は、染料、顔料、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択され、場合により、前記着色剤は、着色剤と、任意要素の界面活性剤と、任意要素の分散剤とを含む分散物である、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- インク組成物は、透明オーバーコートとして塗布することに用いられる、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- インク組成物は、印刷されると、基材に抗菌特性および抗真菌特性を与える、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 前記コンポジットナノ粒子が、抗菌性、抗真菌性、抗ウイルス性の殺生物効果のために銀イオンを運ぶための容器として作用する、請求項1に記載の水性インク組成物。
- 水と;任意要素の共溶媒と;任意要素の着色剤と;コアとシェルを有するコンポジットナノ粒子とを含み、コアが、コア樹脂を含み、場合により銀を含み、シェルが銀イオンポリマー樹脂を含む、水性インクをインクジェット印刷装置に組み込むことと、
中間転写体に、または最終的な画像を受け入れる基材に直接的に、インク液滴を画像状のパターンになるように放出することと、
場合により、画像を加熱し、溶媒を部分的または完全に除去することと、
場合により、中間転写体が使用されるとき、中間転写体から最終的な記録基材へと画像状のパターンになったインクを転写することとを含み、
前記コア樹脂は、ポリ(スチレン−アクリル酸アルキル)、ポリ(スチレン−メタクリル酸アルキル)およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択され、
前記銀イオンポリマー樹脂は、銀アクリレート、銀メタクリレート、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマーと、スチレン、アクリル酸アルキル、メタクリル酸アルキルおよびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマーとから形成される、インクジェット印刷方法。 - 前記基材が、三次元基材を含む、請求項11に記載のインクジェット印刷方法。
- 前記コンポジットナノ粒子が、抗菌性、抗真菌性、抗ウイルス性の殺生物効果のために銀イオンを運ぶための容器として作用する、請求項11に記載のインクジェット印刷方法。
