本実施例では、陽イオン性アルコキシル化デンプン(「XP13-2228 JTA」)を、単独の接着剤として、又は水分散液中で別のコーティング接着剤と50:50 wt:wt配合物として合わせて含有する接着剤製剤(固形分含有量2.5 wt%)を調製した。陽イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンは、化工デンプンであるものとした。この化工デンプンは、改質炭水化物水分散液として、Penford Products Co.から商品名TOPCOAT(商標)L95(30 %固形分、pH=5.0〜6.0、DS=0.15、注入可能な液体形態)で商業的に得られる。DSは電荷密度の尺度である。幾つかの製剤に使用される種々の接着剤化学物質は、ポリマーを含有する組成物とし、これらは、ポリ(アミドアミン)エピクロロヒドリン(PAAE)を含む通常の湿潤紙力増強用樹脂(「WSR」、BUBOND(商標)167として市販されている)、又はBUBOND(商標)2624(「2624」)及びBUBOND(商標)2620(「2620」)として商業的に得られる改質PAAE樹脂とした。上述のBUBOND(商標)製品は、架橋性ポリマーの供給源となる改質PAAE製品であり、これは、Buckman LaboratoriesInternational(Memphis TN USA)の製品である。各製剤の成分(単数又は複数)は、脱イオン水中で希釈して、固形分含有量(有効成分含有量(actives content))2.5 wt%及び含水量97.5 wt%を得た。陽イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンと種々の接着剤成分(PAAE供給源)とを組み合わせた製剤中では、各接着剤が、希釈製剤中に97.5 wt%の水と合わせて1.25 wt%の量で含まれるように、種々の接着剤を50:50(wt基準)混合比で合わせた。
通常の湿潤紙力増強用樹脂(PAAE)を組み合わせた非イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンを使用して接着剤製剤を得る別個の調査を行った。得られる製剤は、ヤンキーコーティング接着剤として性能について実験室内で試験した。
別個の試験を行った。非イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンを単独、及び改質PAAE樹脂との混合物で含有する付加的な製剤の性能を、実験室内評価及び抄紙機上での試験実施を用いて、ヤンキーコーティング剤及び/又はTADヤンキーコーティング剤に関する性能について調査した。
非イオン性アルコキシル化デンプン自体の湿潤粘着性性能を測定するとともに、TADヤンキーコーティング剤として従来のポリビニルアルコールを使用したものと比較した別個の調査を行った。表1は、これらの測定の結果を示すものである。「湿潤粘着」特性は、粘着力テスタとして知られる疑似ローラ試験を用いて実施例1と同様に求めた。

5. 上記アルコキシル化デンプンが30 wt%〜60 wt%の量で存在し、上記樹脂が60 wt%〜0 wt%の量で存在し、上記剥離助剤が0 wt%〜約25 wt%の量で存在し、上記改質剤が0 wt%〜約25 wt%の量で存在し、上記水が0 wt%〜69 wt%の量で存在し、上記重量パーセントが上記製剤の総重量パーセントに対するものである、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の接着剤製剤。
6. 上記樹脂、上記剥離助剤、上記改質剤及び上記水が存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の接着剤製剤。

9. 上記アルコキシル化デンプン及び上記樹脂が、重量/重量基準で1:10〜10:1の比率で存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の接着剤製剤。
10. 上記剥離助剤が存在し、少なくとも1つの植物油と、少なくとも1つのレシチンと、少なくとも1つの分散剤/乳化剤と、任意に水とを含む油性製剤を含み、上記改質剤が存在し、グリセリンを含む、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の接着剤製剤。
11. 乾燥機表面を備える回転する円筒状の乾燥機を準備することと、
上記乾燥機表面に、前項1に記載の製剤を含む製剤を塗布することと、

12. 上記繊維ウェブの含水率が、上記乾燥機表面上における上記繊維ウェブの上記乾燥中に約50 wt%から約30 wt%に減少すると、上記製剤の塗膜粘着性が少なくとも1.5倍(1.5×)増大し、その後、上記繊維ウェブの含水率が、上記乾燥機表面上における上記繊維ウェブの上記乾燥中に約30 wt%から約10 wt%に減少すると、該塗膜粘着性が少なくとも1.5倍(1.5×)減少する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
13. アルコキシル化デンプン、樹脂、剥離助剤、改質剤及び水が上記製剤中に存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
14. 上記製剤が0.5 wt%〜10 wt%の総固形分含有量を有し、水が上記製剤中に99.5 wt%〜90 wt%の量で存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
15. 上記製剤が0.5 wt%〜10 wt%のアルコキシル化デンプンであるアルコキシル化デンプンを含み、水が上記製剤中に99.5 wt%〜90 wt%の量で存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
16. 上記製剤が、C1〜C10アルコキシル化デンプンであるアルコキシル化デンプンを含む、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
17. 上記製剤が、アルコキシル化デンプンと、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAE)、ポリ(アミドアミン)エピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAAE)の少なくとも1つ、又はそれらの任意の組合せである樹脂とを含む、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
18. 上記アルコキシル化デンプン及び上記樹脂が、上記製剤中に、重量/重量基準で1:10〜10:1の比率で存在する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
19. 上記製剤がポリビニルアルコールを含まない、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
20. 上記方法は、上記ウェブを上記乾燥機表面に運搬する編成布を用いて、上記乾燥機表面に上記繊維ウェブを搬送する前に、通気乾燥を用いて上記繊維ウェブを事前乾燥させることを更に含み、上記編成布及び上記乾燥機表面の少なくとも一方を、上記繊維ウェブと接触させる前に上記接着剤製剤で事前にコーティングする、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
21. 上記繊維ウェブが、再生紙から得られるパルプを含む、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
22. 上記製剤を、約0.5 mg/m2(乾燥機表面)〜40 mg/m2(乾燥機表面)の量で塗布する、任意の上記又は下記の実施形態/特徴/態様の方法。
23. 前項1に記載の製剤を含む製剤をTAD織物に塗布して、コーティング表面をもたらすことであって、該TAD織物が、通気乾燥機(TAD)の多孔性ドライヤロールの周りを通過するように該TAD織物が無限ループに配置されることと、
繊維ウェブを、上記TAD織物の該コーティング表面に搬送することと、
上記繊維ウェブをその上に保持するコーティングされたTAD織物を、上記ドライヤロールの周りに運搬し、上記繊維ウェブに熱風を通すことで、ヤンキードライヤ上で上記繊維ウェブを乾燥させることなく乾燥ウェブを得ることと、
上記TAD織物から上記乾燥ウェブを分離して、上記乾燥ウェブを回収することと、
を含み、上記乾燥ウェブが少なくとも1つのクレープ加工特性を有する、クレープ加工された繊維ウェブを製造する方法。
Claims (21)
- a)少なくとも1つのアルコキシル化デンプンと、
b)i)少なくとも1つの樹脂、
ii)少なくとも1つの剥離助剤、及び
iii)少なくとも1つの改質剤、
と、
c)水と、
を含み、
前記樹脂がa)と異なり、ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAE)、ポリ(アミドアミン)エピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAAE)、又はそれらの組合せであり、
前記アルコキシル化デンプンが、水溶性/水分散性液体状の非イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンである、接着剤製剤。
- a)少なくとも1つのアルコキシル化デンプンと、
b)i)少なくとも1つの樹脂、
ii)少なくとも1つの剥離助剤、及び
iii)少なくとも1つの改質剤、
と、
c)水と、
を含み、
前記樹脂がa)と異なり、ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAE)、ポリ(アミドアミン)エピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAAE)、又はそれらの組合せであり、
前記アルコキシル化デンプンが、C1〜C10アルコキシル化デンプンである、接着剤製剤。
- a)少なくとも1つのアルコキシル化デンプンと、
b)i)少なくとも1つの樹脂、
ii)少なくとも1つの剥離助剤、及び
iii)少なくとも1つの改質剤、
と、
c)水と、
を含み、
前記樹脂がa)と異なり、ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAE)、ポリ(アミドアミン)エピクロロヒドリンポリマー(PAAE)、又はそれらの組合せであり、
前記アルコキシル化デンプンが、エトキシル化デンプン、プロポキシル化デンプン若しくはそれらの任意の組合せである、接着剤製剤。
- 前記アルコキシル化デンプンが30 wt%〜60 wt%の量で存在し、前記樹脂が50 wt%〜1 wt%の量で存在し、前記剥離助剤が1 wt%〜20 wt%の量で存在し、前記改質剤が1 wt%〜20 wt%の量で存在し、前記水が1 wt%〜69 wt%の量で存在し、前記重量パーセントが前記製剤の総重量パーセントに対するものである、請求項1〜3のいずれか1に記載の製剤。
- 前記アルコキシル化デンプン及び前記樹脂が、重量/重量基準で1:10〜10:1の比率で存在する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1に記載の製剤。
- 前記剥離助剤が、少なくとも1つの植物油と、少なくとも1つのレシチンと、少なくとも1つの分散剤/乳化剤とを含む油性製剤を含み、前記改質剤が、グリセリンを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか1に記載の製剤。
- a)少なくとも1つのアルコキシル化デンプンと、
b)i)少なくとも1つの樹脂、
ii)少なくとも1つの剥離助剤、及び
iii)少なくとも1つの改質剤、
と、
c)水と、
を含み、
前記樹脂がa)と異なり、
前記アルコキシル化デンプンがイオン性アルコキシル化デンプンであり、かつ、前記樹脂がPAAEである、接着剤製剤。
- a)少なくとも1つのアルコキシル化デンプンと、
b)i)少なくとも1つの樹脂、
ii)少なくとも1つの剥離助剤、及び
iii)少なくとも1つの改質剤、
と、
c)水と、
を含み、
前記樹脂がa)と異なり、
前記アルコキシル化デンプンが非イオン性アルコキシル化デンプンであり、かつ、前記樹脂がPAAEである、接着剤製剤。
- 前記製剤がヤンキーコーティング剤である請求項7又は8に記載の製剤。
- 前記製剤がTADヤンキーコーティング剤である請求項8に記載の製剤。
- 乾燥機表面を備える回転する円筒状の乾燥機を準備することと、
前記乾燥機表面に、請求項1〜3及び7〜10のいずれか1に記載の製剤を含む製剤を塗布することと、
前記乾燥機表面に繊維ウェブを運搬することと、
前記乾燥機表面上で前記繊維ウェブを乾燥させ、それによって、乾燥した繊維ウェブを形成することと、
前記乾燥機表面から前記乾燥した繊維ウェブをクレープ加工することと、
を含む、繊維ウェブをクレープ加工する方法。
- 前記繊維ウェブの含水率が、前記乾燥機表面上における前記繊維ウェブの前記乾燥中に50 wt%から30 wt%に減少すると、前記製剤の塗膜粘着性が少なくとも1.5倍(1.5×)増大し、その後、前記繊維ウェブの含水率が、前記乾燥機表面上における前記繊維ウェブの前記乾燥中に30 wt%から10 wt%に減少すると、該塗膜粘着性が少なくとも1.5倍(1.5×)減少する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記製剤が0.5wt%〜10wt%の総固形分含有量を有し、水が前記製剤中に99.5 wt%〜90 wt%の量で存在する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記製剤が0.5wt%〜10wt%のアルコキシル化デンプンを含み、水が前記製剤中に98 wt%〜97 wt%の量で存在する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記製剤が、C1〜C10アルコキシル化デンプンであるアルコキシル化デンプンを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記アルコキシル化デンプン及び前記樹脂が、前記製剤中に、重量/重量基準で1:10〜10:1の比率で存在する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記製剤がポリビニルアルコールを含まない、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、前記ウェブを前記乾燥機表面に運搬する編成布を用いて、前記乾燥機表面に前記繊維ウェブを搬送する前に、通気乾燥を用いて前記繊維ウェブを事前乾燥させることを更に含み、前記編成布及び前記乾燥機表面の少なくとも一方を、前記繊維ウェブと接触させる前に前記接着剤製剤で事前にコーティングする、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維ウェブが、再生紙から得られるパルプを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記製剤を、0.5 mg/m2(乾燥機表面)〜40 mg/m2(乾燥機表面)の量で塗布する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜3及び7〜10のいずれか1に記載の製剤を含む製剤をTAD織物に塗布して、コーティング表面をもたらすことであって、該TAD織物が、通気乾燥機(TAD)の多孔性ドライヤロールの周りを通過するように該TAD織物が無限ループに配置されることと、
繊維ウェブを、前記TAD織物の前記コーティング表面に搬送することと、
前記繊維ウェブをその上に保持するコーティングされたTAD織物を、前記ドライヤロールの周りに運搬し、前記繊維ウェブに熱風を通すことで、ヤンキードライヤ上で前記繊維ウェブを乾燥させることなく乾燥ウェブを得ることと、
前記TAD織物から前記乾燥ウェブを分離して、前記乾燥ウェブを回収することと、
を含み、前記乾燥ウェブが少なくとも1つのクレープ加工特性を有する、クレープ加工された繊維ウェブを製造する方法。
