Description

Claims (25)
- 装置であって、
回転の中心を有し、且つ、試料中において懸濁した粒子又は細胞の沈降を生成するべく回転するように構成されたカートリッジであって、
前記試料を保持するように構成された受取空洞であって、前記受取空洞内への前記試料の進入を許容するように構成された試料進入孔を有する受取空洞と、
前記受取空洞の場所との関係において前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心から離れるように配置された第2空洞とを有する、カートリッジと、
前記受取空洞及び前記第2空洞を接続する通路であって、前記受取空洞の断面積よりも小さな断面積を有する通路と、を有し、
前記カートリッジは、前記粒子又は細胞の沈降のために前記カートリッジの回転の際に前記試料を前記受取空洞から前記第2空洞に転送するように構成されており、
前記第2空洞は、少なくとも1つの壁を更に有し、前記少なくとも1つの壁は、半径方向のラインから離れるように、且つ、前記回転の中心から離れるに従い、半径方向のラインよりも前記第2空洞の内部の領域を広げるように構成されており、前記半径方向のラインは、前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心から離れるように投射され、且つ、前記少なくとも1つの壁と交差している装置。 - 前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心からの前記第2空洞の遠端は、前記第2空洞の近端と遠端との間の前記第2空洞の断面よりも小さな断面にテーパー化されている請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記カートリッジは、さらに、低減された断面の狭いチャネルを有し、前記低減された断面は、前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心からの前記第2空洞の近端と遠端との間の前記第2空洞の断面よりも小さく、前記低減された断面の狭いチャネルは、前記第2空洞の前記遠端に結合されている請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記低減された断面のチャネルは、前記第2空洞内に、前記粒子の密度より低く、前記試料の密度より高い密度を有する高密度媒体を移動させるべく、カートリッジの回転の後に、毛管力により、高密度媒体を保持するように構成されている請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記第2空洞は、前記粒子の密度より低く、前記試料の密度より高い密度を有する、1つ又は複数の高密度媒体を保存するように構成されている請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記カートリッジは、複数の第2空洞を更に有する請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記受取空洞は、最初は前記受取空洞内の前記試料の一部分を回転の際に前記複数の第2空洞内に導くように構成されており、且つ、前記カートリッジは、前記カートリッジの回転の際に前記受取空洞から残っている試料を受け取るように構成された1つ又は複数のオーバーフロー空洞を更に有する請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記第2空洞は複数であり、
前記カートリッジに装着可能である、前記粒子の密度より低く、前記試料の密度より高い密度を有する、高密度媒体を収容する拡張部を更に有し、前記拡張部は、前記カートリッジに対する前記拡張部の装着によって形成される封止されたチャネルを通じて回転の際に高密度媒体を前記複数の第2空洞に分配するように構成されている請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記第2空洞は複数であり、
前記カートリッジは、前記粒子の密度より低く、前記試料の密度より高い密度を有する、高密度媒体を保持するように構成された分配空洞を更に有し、且つ、前記カートリッジは、回転の際に高密度媒体を前記複数の第2空洞のそれぞれの第2空洞に分配するように構成されている請求項1に記載の装置。 - 高密度媒体を保持するように構成された前記空洞は、前記受取空洞の下方に配置される請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記カートリッジは、高密度媒体を保持すると共に前記高密度媒体の蒸発に抵抗するように構成された1つ又は複数のパウチを更に有し、且つ、前記パウチは、前記高密度媒体を放出するように破裂させてもよい請求項8〜10のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記カートリッジは、前記第2空洞よりも前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心に近接すると共に前記受取空洞よりも前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心から離れている1つ又は複数の第3空洞を更に有し、前記カートリッジは、前記受取空洞からの前記試料の一部分を前記カートリッジの回転の際に前記1つ又は複数の第3空洞に転送するように構成されている請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記第3空洞は、前記試料液体中において溶解するように構成された固体試薬を保持するように構成されており、且つ、前記試薬は、前記試料の分析を支援するように構成されている請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記受取空洞は、液体成分との接触状態にある固体粒子を有する試料を保持するように構成されており、前記液体成分は、前記固体粒子を懸濁液中で安定化させる要素を溶解させるように構成されており、且つ、前記第2空洞は、前記試料の前記液体成分及び前記液体成分中に溶解した要素の分析を支援するように構成された試薬を収容する請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記受取空洞を前記第2空洞に接続する通路は、前記固体粒子の一部分の少なくとも1つの固体粒子の直径よりも小さく、前記固体粒子が、前記受取空洞から前記通路を通過するのを阻害する、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記試料中の固体粒子の量を推定するべく前記受取空洞内に保持されている固体粒子の容積を計測のためのシステムを更に有する請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記固体粒子は、土粒子を有する請求項14〜16のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記試料は、固体粒子を含む懸濁液であり、
前記装置は、前記固体粒子を前記カートリッジの回転の際に前記第2空洞内のペレット内に沈降させることにより、前記試料中において懸濁した前記固体粒子の量を計測するように構成されている請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記試料は、液体をさらに含み、前記液体は、精液であり、前記粒子は、精子細胞である請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記受取空洞は、前記受取空洞の底部からの1つ又は複数の突起を更に有し、前記突起は、前記試料の均質化を支援するように構成されている請求項1〜19のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記1つ又は複数の突起の高さは、前記受取空洞の高さ未満であり、且つ、前記突起は、前記受取空洞への液体の転送の際に液体が前記試料進入孔を取り囲むことを防止するように構成されている請求項20に記載の装置。
- 前記物体は、前記試料の分析を支援するように構成された試薬を更に有する請求項21に記載の装置。
- 機器を更に有し、前記機器は、前記カートリッジを回転させるように構成されたモーターを含む請求項1〜22のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記モーターは、シャフトを更に有し、且つ、前記カートリッジは、前記カートリッジを前記シャフトに結合するように構成された相手部材を更に有する請求項23に記載の装置。
- 前記受取空洞の中心は、前記カートリッジの前記回転の中心に一致するように配置されている請求項1〜24のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
