Description
かって凸である第1凸部を有し、前記突起の少なくとも1つは、前記第1凸部の頂部から上方に向かって突出している。また、本態様の切削工具は、基体と、該基体の表面に位置する被覆層とを備える。前記被覆層は、炭窒化チタンを含有する下層と、該下層の上に位置して、α型結晶構造の酸化アルミニウムを含有する上層と、前記下層及び前記上層の間に位置する中間層とを有する。該中間層は、前記下層に隣接して、TiC x1 N y1 O z1 (0≦x1<1、0≦y1<1、0<z1<1、x1+y1+z1=1)を含有する第1層と、前記上層に隣接して、TiC x2 N y2 O z2 (0≦x2<1、0≦y2<1、0<z2<1、x2+y2+z2=1)を含有する第2層と、前記第1層及び前記第2層の間に位置して、TiC x3 N y3 O z3 (0≦x3<1、0≦y3<1、0≦z3<1、x3+y3+z3=1)を含有する第3層とを有する。z1>z3、かつ、z2>z3である。前記第1層の厚みが5nm〜50nmであり、前記第3層の厚みが50nm〜300nmである。
Tc(hkl)={I(hkl)/I0(hkl)}/〔(1/9)×Σ{I(HKL)/I0(HKL)}〕
によって示される。ここで、 (HKL)は、(012)、(104)、(110)、(113)、(006)、(024)、(116)、(214)の結晶面であり、Iは、各結晶面に帰属されるピーク強度であり、I0は、JCPDSカードNo.00−010−0173に記載された各結晶面の標準回折強度である。

被削材 :クロムモリブデン鋼材(SCM435)
工具形状:CNMG120408
切削速度:300m/分
送り速度:0.3mm/rev
切り込み:1.5mm
切削時間:25分
その他 :水溶性切削液使用
評価項目:走査型電子顕微鏡にて刃先ホーニング部分を観察し、実際に摩耗している部分において、逃げ面におけるフランク摩耗幅を測定。

切削速度:300m/分
送り速度:0.3mm/rev

Claims (10)
- 基体と、該基体の表面に位置する被覆層とを備えた切削工具であって、
前記被覆層は、
炭窒化チタンを含有する下層と、
該下層の上に位置して、α型結晶構造の酸化アルミニウムを含有する上層と、
前記下層及び前記上層の間に位置する中間層とを有し、
該中間層は、
前記下層に隣接して、TiCx1Ny1Oz1(0≦x1<1、0≦y1<1、0<z1<1、x1+y1+z1=1)を含有する第1層と、
前記上層に隣接して、TiCx2Ny2Oz2(0≦x2<1、0≦y2<1、0<z2<1、x2+y2+z2=1)を含有する第2層と、
前記第1層及び前記第2層の間に位置して、TiCx3Ny3Oz3(0≦x3<1、0≦y3<1、0≦z3<1、x3+y3+z3=1)を含有する第3層とを有し、
z1>z3、かつ、z2>z3であり、
前記基体の表面に直交する断面において、
前記第2層は、上方に向かって突出する針状の突起を複数有し、前記第3層は、上方に向かって凸である第1凸部を有し、前記突起の少なくとも1つは、前記第1凸部の頂部から上方に向かって突出している、切削工具。 - z1<z2である、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記下層は、上方に向かって凸である第2凸部を有し、
前記突起の少なくとも1つは、前記第1凸部の頂部及び前記第2凸部の頂部を通る仮想直線上に位置している、請求項1または2に記載の切削工具。 - 前記仮想直線上における前記突起の長さが、前記仮想直線上における前記第3層の長さよりも大きい、請求項3に記載の切削工具。
- 前記第2層の厚みが10nm〜35nmである、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1つに記載の切削工具。
- 前記第1層の厚みが5nm〜50nmであり、前記第3層の厚みが50nm〜300nmである、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1つに記載の切削工具。
- X線回折分析による前記被覆層の表面側からの測定で検出される、下記一般式Tc(hkl)で表される前記上層の配向係数Tc(104)が2以上である、請求項1乃至6のいずれか1つに記載の切削工具。
配向係数Tc(hkl)={I(hkl)/I0(hkl)}/〔(1/9)×Σ{I(HKL)/I0(HKL)}〕
(HKL)は、(012)、(104)、(110)、(113)、(024)、(116)、(214)、(146)、(006)の結晶面、
Iは、各結晶面に帰属されるピーク強度、
I0は、JCPDSカードNo.00−010−0173に記載された各結晶面の標準回折強度。 - 前記上層は、前記基体側における前記配向係数Tc(104)が、表面側における前記配向係数Tc(104)よりも小さい、請求項7に記載の切削工具。
- X線回折分析による前記被覆層の表面側からの測定で検出される、前記X線回折強度I(hkl)のうち、I(116)及びI(104)の一方が最も強く、I(116)及びI(104)の他方が2番目に強い、請求項7又は8に記載の切削工具。
- 基体と、該基体の表面に位置する被覆層とを備えた切削工具であって、
前記被覆層は、
炭窒化チタンを含有する下層と、
該下層の上に位置して、α型結晶構造の酸化アルミニウムを含有する上層と、
前記下層及び前記上層の間に位置する中間層とを有し、
該中間層は、
前記下層に隣接して、TiC x1 N y1 O z1 (0≦x1<1、0≦y1<1、0<z1<1、x1+y1+z1=1)を含有する第1層と、
前記上層に隣接して、TiC x2 N y2 O z2 (0≦x2<1、0≦y2<1、0<z2<1、x2+y2+z2=1)を含有する第2層と、
前記第1層及び前記第2層の間に位置して、TiC x3 N y3 O z3 (0≦x3<1、0≦y3<1、0≦z3<1、x3+y3+z3=1)を含有する第3層とを有し、
z1>z3、かつ、z2>z3であり、
前記第1層の厚みが5nm〜50nmであり、前記第3層の厚みが50nm〜300nmである、切削工具。
