実施例では「固体」および「固体分」は、抽出物またはスラリーの水以外の全てを指し、グリセロールなどの室温および室内圧力において単独では液体の成分を含んでもよい。
4.5kgの刻みバージニアタバコのブレンドを、80kgの水(逆浸透したもの)により、60℃で25〜30秒間軽く撹拌しながら抽出した。得られた混合物を、ろ過した後に、蒸発濃縮工程で45〜60%の範囲の所望の濃度の固形分を含む抽出物になるまで濃縮した。表1に得られたタバコ抽出物の組成を示す。
タバコ抽出物を含むエアロゾル発生材の製造において、タバコ抽出物を、親水コロイド結合剤を使用してグリセロールなどのエアロゾル発生促進剤と結合させた。その後、得られたゲルで金属網加熱要素をコーティングした。内部架橋と乾燥の組み合わせによりゲルを金属網上で成形および固定し、エアロゾル発生材の層を加熱要素に塗布した、または結合させた。

実施例3で、電力印加に対するエアロゾル発生能力およびこの複合材料の到達温度について考察する。
この工程において、電気接続部である「ワニ口ばねクリップ」をコーティングされたステンレス鋼製の網の周縁部に装着し、確実な電気接点を作った。鋼製の網が、エアロゾル発生材の熱源となる加熱要素として機能し、エアロゾルおよび/または気体が発生した。電源には、HAMEG社のHMP4030を使用した。加熱されたコーティングステンレス鋼製網の温度を、熱探知カメラのFLUKE Ti32を使用して測定した。

(iii)電力加熱要素を使用してエアロゾル発生材から大気中にエアロゾルを発生させる工程(電気加熱要素による大気エアロゾル発生工程)とを含む。
3.0kgの刻みバーレータバコのブレンドを、80kgの水(逆浸透したもの)により、60℃で25〜30分間軽く撹拌しながら抽出した。得られた混合物を、ろ過した後に、蒸発濃縮工程で45〜60%の範囲の所望の濃度の固形分を含む抽出物になるまで濃縮した。表4に得られたタバコ抽出物の組成を示す。
エアロゾル発生材の製造原理は、実施例2のものと類似している。
本実施例でエアロゾル発生材のエアロゾル発生性を評価するために使用したエアロゾル発生試験装置は、取り外し可能なガラス製端板を備えたガラス管からなる。2本のタングステン製ロッドが、ガラス管を貫通した状態でガラス金属漏れ止め溶接をされており、電極として機能する。図18にその装置を示す。装置の部品は以下のとおりである。

実験1:3秒間で80mlの吸引を30秒毎に行った
実験2:エアロゾル発生材でコーティングしたコイルを加熱し、毎秒2.5Lの空気を連続吸引した
表7に示す規格のニクロム線のコイルに0.41gのエアロゾル発生材を接触させて組み込んだ加熱要素

推定値が低くなる可能性がある分析手法を用いたが、どちらの実験でも、電源を入れて加熱要素コイルを加熱すると、相当量のニコチンとグリセロールがエアロゾル発生材から、漂うエアロゾルに移ったことが分かる。これにより、電力によるエアロゾル発生材の加熱が、ニコチンおよびグリセロールの含有量が高いエアロゾルを発生させるのに十分であったことが結論付けられる。ニコチンとグリセロールはどちらも沸点が高いが、どちらの実験でもこれらの条件下ではニコチンのほうがグリセロールよりも多く移ったことがデータから分かる。
Claims (16)
- 吸入用エアロゾルおよび/または気体を発生する装置であって、装置は、電気抵抗加熱要素と一体化したエアロゾル発生材を備え、該加熱要素は、少なくとも部分的にエアロゾル発生材の中に埋まっているか又はエアロゾル発生材でコーティングされており、これによりエアロゾル発生材は、電気抵抗加熱要素に直接接触している状態で加熱されてもよく、エアロゾル発生材は、吸入用エアロゾルおよび/または気体を複数回供給するために加熱されてもよい一体型構造および/またはコーティングとして提供され、エアロゾル発生材は鋳造または押出成形された材料であり、エアロゾル発生材が、ソルビトール、グリセロール、プロピレングリコール、トリエチレングリコール、一価アルコール、乳酸、グリセロール誘導体、ジアセチン、トリアセチン、二酢酸トリエチレングリコール、クエン酸トリエチル、ミリスチン酸イソプロピル、ステアリン酸メチル、ドデカン二酸ジメチル、およびテトラデカン二酸ジメチルから選ばれるエアロゾル発生促進剤を含み、電気抵抗加熱要素の少なくとも一部分が網状である装置。
- エアロゾル発生材がニコチンを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材がタバコ材を含むことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材が無機充填材を含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材が結合剤を含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材の少なくとも一部分が、少なくとも部分的に電気抵抗加熱要素に囲まれていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材の第1の部分が、エアロゾル発生材の第2の部分とは別に電気抵抗加熱要素により加熱されてもよく、任意に第1の部分および第2の部分が、異なる化学組成を有していることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- エアロゾル発生材の少なくとも一部分を、電気抵抗加熱要素により加熱するために、第1の部分から第2の部分に移動させなければならないことを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 電気抵抗加熱要素によるエアロゾル発生材の加熱が、装置の使用者により開始および/または制御されるものとすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 装置が発熱するが燃焼はしない装置であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれか1項に記載の吸入用エアロゾルおよび/または気体を発生する装置の製造方法であって、エアロゾル発生材のスラリーを電気抵抗加熱要素に塗布する、又はスラリーを電気抵抗加熱要素に注ぐことにより塗布する、又はスラリーを電気抵抗加熱要素とともに、又は電気抵抗加熱要素の上に押出成形することを含み、電気抵抗加熱要素の少なくとも一部分が網状である方法。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれか1項に記載のニコチンを含むエアロゾルおよび/または気体を発生する装置の使用法。
- 電気抵抗加熱要素を含む複合構造体であって、電気抵抗加熱要素が、少なくとも部分的にエアロゾル発生材の中に埋まっているか又はエアロゾル発生材でコーティングされており、エアロゾル発生材が、電気抵抗加熱要素と直接接触しており、吸入用エアロゾルおよび/または気体を複数回供給するために加熱されてもよく、エアロゾル発生材は鋳造または押出成形された材料であり、エアロゾル発生材は、請求項1乃至10のいずれか1項に規定されたものであり、電気抵抗加熱要素の少なくとも一部分が網状である複合構造体。
- 複合構造体の異なる部分を加熱するために該構造体を移動させてもよい;複合構造体の異なる部分が別個の電源により、または電力供給をある部分から別の部分に切り替えることにより個別に加熱されてもよい;及び複合構造体が細長いリボン状または帯状であるかの少なくとも一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の複合構造体。
- 請求項13または14に記載の複合構造体と、複合構造体の異なる部分の加熱を可能にするために複合構造体を移動させる手段とを備える物品。
- 複合構造体が細長いリボン状または帯状であり、前記移動手段がスプールであることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の物品。
