Description
以下、図1及び図2を参照して本発明の第1実施形態について説明する。図1は、本発明の第1実施形態による光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型平板表示装置に適用する指向性光ユニットの構造を示す図である。図1で、上部図面はXZ平面から眺めた側面図であり、下部図面は上からXY平面から眺めた平面図である。
以下、図4を参照して本発明の第2実施形態を説明する。図4は、本発明の第2実施形態による指向性光ユニットと光認識センサーを含む光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型平板表示装置の構造を示す図である。
今までは、光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型平板表示装置で指向性光を提供するための指向性光ユニットを中心として本発明に対して説明した。以下、本発明による指向性光ユニットを光認識センサーを含む平板表示パネルと結合して形成する光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型平板表示装置の具体的な応用例を説明する。
以下、図6を参考して、本発明の第2応用例による光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型平板表示装置について説明する。図6は、本発明の第2応用例による指向性光ユニットと光認識センサーを含む光学式イメージセンサー内蔵型有機発光ダイオード表示装置の構造を示す断面図である。
Claims (6)
- 表示領域と非表示領域が定義された表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルを収容する長さと幅、そして一定の厚さを有し、前記表示パネルの上部表面に面付着された指向性光ユニットとを含み、
前記指向性光ユニットは、
前記長さと前記幅に対応する面積を有するカバー基板と、
前記カバー基板の下部表面で、前記表示領域に対応して配置された出光素子と、
前記カバー基板の下部表面で、前記出光素子の一側辺で前記表示領域の外側に配置された入光素子と、
前記出光素子及び前記入光素子の下部表面に配置され、前記表示パネルの前記上部表面に面付着され、前記カバー基板及び前記出光素子より低い屈折率を有する低屈折層と、
前記低屈折層の下部表面に配置された検出光調節素子と、
前記表示パネルの前記一側辺で前記入光素子と対向するように配置された光源と、
備え、
前記光源は、前記入光素子の表面に定義された入射点に入射光を提供し、
前記入光素子は、前記入射光を前記カバー基板の内部で全反射する入射角を有する進行光に転換し、
前記出光素子は、前記進行光の一部の光量を該出光素子の光抽出効率に基づいて抽出して該抽出した一部を出射光に転換し、
前記光抽出効率は、前記出光素子の前記一側辺から他側辺に向かって指数関数的に徐々に増加する、
イメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。 - 前記入光素子は、前記進行光を前記カバー基板の内部に入射させるホログラフィパターンを備え、
前記出光素子は、前記進行光の一部を、前記カバー基板の上部表面では全反射し、前記低屈折層は透過する条件を満たす、反射角を有する検出光に転換するホログラフィパターンを備え、
前記検出光調節素子は、前記検出光の進行方向を前記表示パネルの垂直方向に転換するホログラフィパターンを備える、請求項1に記載のイメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。 - 前記進行光は、幅方向軸と長手方向軸からなる水平平面では拡散角を有し、前記長手方向軸と前記厚さ方向軸からなる垂直平面ではコリメートされた状態を維持し、
前記入射角は、前記出光素子と前記低屈折層との界面での全反射臨界角より大きい値を有し、そして、
前記反射角は、前記カバー基板と空気層との界面での全反射臨界角よりは大きく、前記出光素子と前記低屈折層との界面での全反射臨界角よりは小さな値を有する、請求項2に記載のイメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。 - 前記拡散角は、
前記入射点で前記入光素子と対向する前記カバー基板の他側辺の2つの終端点を各々連結する2つの線分がなす内側角度以上である、請求項3に記載のイメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。 - 前記入光素子で前記進行光が進行する方向に一定距離離隔して、前記幅を横切って配置された水平コリメート素子をさらに含み、かつ、
前記拡散角は、
前記入光素子の入射点で前記水平コリメート素子の2つの終端点を各々連結する2つの線分がなす内側角度に相応し、
前記水平コリメート素子は、前記拡散角を有する前記進行光を前記幅に対応するように前記水平平面で水平コリメートするホログラフィパターンを備えた、請求項3に記載のイメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。 - 前記光源は、
断面形状が正円形であるコリメート光(collimated light)を提供する、請求項1に記載のイメージ認識センサー内蔵型平板表示装置。
