Description
図6から図11は、ドリルなどの切削工具に冷却が施された装置の実施形態を示す。図6は、ドリル本体80及び以下により完全に説明されるドリルを作り出すためにドリル本体80の前端部84に嵌合するブッシング82の側面図である。ドリル本体80の前端部84は、ブッシング82に形成された止まり穴86に嵌入するための縮径部分85を有する。ブッシング82の止まり穴86は、ドリル本体80の縮径部分85の上に密接に嵌合する寸法である。ドリル本体80は、図7に図示されるようにドリル本体80の端部91から本体の前端部84の縮径部分85まで延在する軸方向止まり穴88を、軸端部90に有する。交差ドリル孔92は、縮径部分85に、縮径部分85の外面から以下により完全に説明されるドリル本体の止まり穴88の端部に形成された冷媒空洞89まで形成される。溝94は、以下により完全に説明される完成したドリルにおける冷媒のための通路を提供するために、縮径部分85の長さ方向の一部分に沿って形成され得る。溝94は、U字形路93に沿って工具80の切削部の開始部分の交差ドリル孔92から縮径部分85の先端部95まで延在した後、工具の切削部分の端部に向かって戻るように延在し得る。各U字形路93は、低温流送達路96と、クロスオーバー部分97と、帰還路98とを備え得る。各低温流送達路96は、交差ドリル孔92と連通し得、各帰還路98は、ブッシング82の端部99とドリル本体80の軸端部90に形成された肩部100との間に形成された排出間隙101と連通し得る。
Claims (17)
- 極低温流体によって内部から冷却される回転切削工具であって、
概して円筒形の外形を有するとともに、前方部分に長手方向溝を有する工具本体、及びブッシングと、
前記切削工具の前方部に形成された少なくとも1つのフルート、及びワークピースを切削するために、前記少なくとも1つのフルートの外縁に形成された切削刃と、
前記切削工具内の極低温冷媒のための内部低温流送達路であって、前記少なくとも1つのフルートの前記切削刃に近接する内部低温流送達路と、
極低温冷媒を前記内部低温流送達路に供給するために、前記切削工具に形成された冷媒空洞と、
前記低温流送達路の下流にある、極低温冷媒のための内部帰還路と、
極低温冷媒を大気へ排出するために、前記内部帰還路に結合された排出口と
を備え、前記排出口は切削刃から離れており、それにより、前記極低温冷媒がワークピースを冷却しないように、前記極低温冷媒は前記切削刃及び前記切削刃に係合される前記ワークピースから離間して排出され、
前記内部低温流送達路は、前記ブッシングが前記工具本体の前記前方部分に挿入されることで、前記長手方向溝および前記ブッシングの内面によって形成される、回転切削工具。 - 前記切削工具の前記前方部に形成された複数のフルートと、
前記複数のフルートのそれぞれに形成された切削刃と、
前記切削刃のそれぞれのための低温流送達路と
を更に備える、請求項1に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記冷媒空洞は、前記切削工具の前部に位置し、前記低温流送達路は、前記切削工具の前記前方部に形成された切削刃に近接する、請求項2に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記内部帰還路は、前記切削工具の外周に形成された前記切削刃に近接する、請求項3に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記低温流送達路のそれぞれのための内部帰還路
を更に備える、請求項4に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記回転切削工具はエンドミルである、請求項5に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記回転切削工具はリーマである、請求項5に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記極低温流体は、−196℃の温度を有する液体窒素である、請求項5に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記工具本体の止まり穴内に取り付けられた断熱スリーブ
を更に備え、前記断熱スリーブは、前記工具本体内に流入する前記極低温冷媒による熱利得を防止し、前記冷媒空洞は、前記断熱スリーブの端部と前記止まり穴の端部との間に配置される、請求項3に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記冷媒空洞は、前記切削工具の回転中心に位置し、前記低温流送達路は、前記切削工具の外周に形成された切削刃に近接する、請求項2に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記低温流送達路を前記内部帰還路に結合する内部クロスオーバー流路
を更に備え、前記内部クロスオーバー流路の少なくとも一部は前記回転切削工具の先端部に形成された切削刃に近接する、請求項10に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記低温流送達路は、前記工具の軸に沿って前記冷媒空洞から前記工具の前記先端部まで延在し、前記内部クロスオーバー流路は、前記工具の前記先端部に配置され、前記内部帰還路は、前記ブッシングの前記先端部から前記ブッシングの後端部まで延在する、請求項11に記載の回転切削工具。
- 極低温冷媒を前記内部帰還路から大気へ排出するために、前記内部帰還路に結合された排出口
を更に備え、前記排出口は前記ブッシングの後端部に配置され、それにより、前記極低温冷媒がワークピースを冷却しないように、前記極低温冷媒は前記切削刃及び前記切削刃に係合される前記ワークピースから離間して排出される、請求項12に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記極低温流体は、−196℃の温度を有する液体窒素である、請求項13に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記工具本体の止まり穴内に取り付けられた断熱スリーブ
を更に備え、前記断熱スリーブは、前記工具本体内に流入する前記極低温冷媒による熱利得を防止し、前記冷媒空洞は、前記断熱スリーブの端部と前記止まり穴の端部との間に配置される、請求項14に記載の回転切削工具。 - 前記切削工具はドリルである、請求項15に記載の回転切削工具。
- 前記切削工具は捩れたフルートを有する、請求項16に記載の回転切削工具。
