Description
a)無極性溶媒中の前記中間ブロックスルホン化スチレン系ブロックコポリマーのセメントを準備する工程であって、無極性溶媒が49から99℃の沸点を持つ炭化水素化合物またはこのような化合物の混合物である工程;
b)工程a)のセメントを共溶媒と混合して混合物を形成する工程;
c)工程b)の混合物を、界面活性剤の非存在下で、水によって乳化してエマルジョンを製造する工程;
d)炭化水素溶媒と、場合により共溶媒をエマルジョンから除去して水性エマルジョンを製造する工程
を含み、無極性溶媒が2.0(√MPaで表す)未満のハンセン極性パラメータ(δp)を有し、共溶媒が2.8から15の範囲の、好ましくは5.0から12の範囲のハンセン極性パラメータ(δp)および4.0から27(√MPaで表す)の範囲のハンセン水素結合パラメータ(δh)を有する極性非プロトン性溶媒または極性プロトン性溶媒である方法を提供する。好ましくは、共溶媒は最高99℃の沸点を有し、これにより水性エマルジョンは、ほとんどまたは全く(有機)溶媒を用いずに提供され得る。

MD9100溶液20グラムを水30グラムとT25内で13500rpmにて混合した。高温、減圧下で溶媒をストリップ除去した後、中間ブロックスルホン化ブロックコポリマーは急速に凝固した。安定なエマルジョンは得られなかった。
実験1を繰り返した。MD9100溶液100グラムをかなりの量の界面活性剤(それぞれX100 1グラムまたはSDS 1グラム)および水150グラムとT50内で9500rpmにて混合した。高温、減圧下で溶媒をストリップ除去した後、SDSの場合、固形分12%mおよび平均粒径2.75マイクロメートルを有する、Triton X100を使用した場合、20%mおよび1.02マイクロメートルを有する安定なエマルジョンを得た。界面活性剤が系内に残存し、このため最終生成物の特性に影響を及ぼすことが理解されるべきである。
実験1を繰り返した。MD9100溶液20グラムを無極性溶媒(シクロヘキサンまたはトルエン)7.5グラムおよび水30グラムとT25内で13500rpmにて混合した。溶媒および共溶媒の大部分を高温、減圧下でストリップ除去した後の結果を下の表に示す。希釈(実験3a)または無極性溶媒の使用により、安定なエマルジョンが得られることがわかる。しかし、結果は到底十分ではない。
実験1を繰り返した。MD9100溶液20グラムを共溶媒(MEK、THF、1−プロパノール)7.5グラムおよび水30グラムとT25内で13500rpmにて混合した。高温、減圧下で溶媒および共溶媒の大部分をストリップ除去した後、下の表に示すような固形分および平均粒径を有する安定なエマルジョンを得た。しかし、本明細書で定義するようなハンセン要件を満たす共溶媒を用いると、許容可能な平均粒径を有する適正な安定エマルジョンが得られる。
Claims (2)
- 少なくとも2種の非スルホン化ポリマー末端ブロックAおよび少なくとも1種のスルホン化ブロックBを含む中間ブロックスルホン化スチレン系ブロックコポリマーの水性エマルジョンを調製する方法であって、以下の:
a)無極性溶媒中の前記中間ブロックスルホン化スチレン系ブロックコポリマーのセメントを準備する工程であって、前記無極性溶媒が49から99℃の範囲の沸点を持つ炭化水素化合物またはこのような化合物の混合物である工程;
b)工程a)のセメントを共溶媒と混合して混合物を形成する工程;
c)工程b)の混合物を、界面活性剤の非存在下で、水によって乳化してエマルジョンを製造する工程;
d)炭化水素溶媒と、場合により共溶媒をエマルジョンから除去して水性エマルジョンを製造する工程
を含み、前記無極性溶媒が2.0(√MPaで表す)未満のハンセン極性パラメータ(δp)を有し、前記共溶媒が2.8から15の範囲のハンセン極性パラメータ(δp)、および4.0から27(√MPaで表す)の範囲のハンセン水素結合パラメータ(δh)を有する極性非プロトン性溶媒または極性プロトン性溶媒である方法。 - 少なくとも2種の非スルホン化ポリマー末端ブロックAおよび少なくとも1種のスルホン化ブロックBを含む中間ブロックスルホン化スチレン系ブロックコポリマーの水性エマルジョンであって、前記エマルジョンの質量に基づいて計算した10−30質量%の範囲の固形分を有し、レーザ回折分光法によって決定した前記中間ブロックスルホン化スチレン系ブロックコポリマーの粒子の平均粒度が最大で2.0μmであり、前記エマルジョンの質量に基づいて計算して1500ppmまでの共溶媒を含有し、前記共溶媒が2.8−15の範囲のハンセン極性パラメータ(δp)、および4.0から27(√MPaで計算)の範囲のハンセン水素結合パラメータ(δh)を有する極性非プロトン性溶媒または極性プロトン性溶媒であり、界面活性剤を含まない、水性エマルジョン。
