水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体と液媒体とを、上部に気相部分を残して収容する反応器本体と、
前記反応器本体に接続され、前記気相部分の気体を、該反応器本体から導出する気体導出部と、を備える重合反応器と、
前記気体導出部に接続され、該気体導出部によって前記反応器本体から導出された前記気体が流れる第1流路を有する第1流路部と、
前記第1流路部の温度を、該第1流路部の前記第1流路を流れる前記気体が凝縮しないように、少なくとも加温または保温することによって予め定める温度範囲に調整する第1流路部用温度調整部と、
前記気体を冷却する冷却器であって、
前記第1流路部に接続され、該第1流路部の前記第1流路を流れる前記気体が流入し、その流入した気体を冷却する冷却器本体と、

図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る吸水性樹脂の製造装置500の構成を示す図である。吸水性樹脂は、水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体を重合反応させて製造することができる。水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体の重合方法は特に限定されず、代表的な重合方法である水溶液重合法、乳化重合法、逆相懸濁重合法などが用いられる。
図1に示す製造装置500を使用して、逆相懸濁重合法による吸水性樹脂の製造を行った。実施例1における吸水性樹脂の製造においては、水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体を、石油系炭化水素分散媒中で、分散安定剤の存在下にラジカル重合開始剤を用いて、逆相懸濁重合法により2段の重合反応を行った。
第1配管202、反応器本体200Aの上部、第4配管302、および濃縮器本体300Aの上部に保温材を設置しないようにしたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、比較例1の吸水性樹脂を得た。

- 水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体を液媒体中で重合反応させて吸水性樹脂を生成する重合反応器であって、
水溶性エチレン性不飽和単量体と液媒体とを、上部に気相部分を残して収容する反応器本体と、
前記反応器本体に接続され、前記気相部分の気体を、該反応器本体から導出する気体導出部と、を備える重合反応器と、
前記気体導出部に接続され、該気体導出部によって前記反応器本体から導出された前記気体が流れる第1流路を有する第1流路部と、
前記第1流路部の温度を、該第1流路部の前記第1流路を流れる前記気体が凝縮しないように、少なくとも加温または保温することによって予め定める温度範囲に調整する第1流路部用温度調整部と、
前記気体を冷却する冷却器であって、
前記第1流路部に接続され、該第1流路部の前記第1流路を流れる前記気体が流入し、その流入した気体を冷却する冷却器本体と、
前記冷却器本体に接続され、該冷却器本体で冷却して得られた冷却流体を、該冷却器本体から導出する冷却流体導出部と、を備える冷却器と、
前記冷却流体導出部に接続され、該冷却流体導出部によって前記冷却器本体から導出された前記冷却流体が、前記反応器本体に向けて流れる第2流路を有する第2流路部と、を備えることを特徴とする吸水性樹脂の製造装置。 - 前記反応器本体の温度を、前記気体が凝縮しない予め定める温度範囲に調整する重合反応器用温度調整部を、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸水性樹脂の製造装置。
- 前記第1流路部用温度調整部によって調整される前記第1流路部の温度範囲、および、前記重合反応器用温度調整部によって調整される前記反応器本体の温度範囲は、30[℃]以上150[℃]以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の吸水性樹脂の製造装置。
- 前記第1流路部用温度調整部によって調整される前記第1流路部の温度範囲、および、前記重合反応器用温度調整部によって調整される前記反応器本体の温度範囲は、前記反応器本体内の前記気相部分の気体の温度をT[℃]とした場合、(T−20)[℃]以上、T[℃]以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の吸水性樹脂の製造装置。
