Claims (9)
- 複数の発光素子を有する発光装置であって、
前記発光素子がm行n列(nは1以上の整数、mは3以上の整数)のマトリクス状に配列されている発光パネルと、
少なくとも1つの行を隔てて配列されている一対の行を含むK行(Kは2以上m未満の整数)分の各行に属する前記発光素子を駆動周期毎に、時系列的にK分割して順次、発光駆動する第1のドライバと、
前記少なくとも1つの行に属する前記発光素子を前記駆動周期毎に発光駆動する第2のドライバと、を有し、
前記第1のドライバ及び前記第2のドライバは夫々が異なる行に接続されており、前記第1のドライバに接続されている前記一対の行に挟まれた行に前記第2のドライバが接続されており、
前記第1のドライバが自身に接続されている行に属する前記発光素子を発光駆動している間に、前記第2のドライバが自身に接続されている行に属する前記発光素子を発光駆動し、
前記第1のドライバは前記発光素子の照度を制御する機能を有し、前記第1のドライバで制御可能な最大照度と、前記第2のドライバの発光駆動による前記発光素子の最大照度とが互いに異なることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 前記第1のドライバは、前記駆動周期内において、前記一対の行のうちの一方の行に属する前記発光素子と、他方の行に属する前記発光素子とを互いに異なる期間に亘り順次、発光駆動し、
前記第1のドライバに接続されている前記一対の行に挟まれて配置されており且つ前記第2のドライバに接続されている行に属する前記発光素子は、前記駆動周期内において、前記一対の行のうちの一方の行に属する前記発光素子に対する発光駆動期間より長く、且つ前記一対の行のうちの他方の行に属する前記発光素子に対する発光駆動期間よりも短い期間に亘り、前記第2のドライバによって発光駆動されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。 - 前記第2のドライバは、前記少なくとも1つの行を含むL行(Lは2以上m未満の整数)分の各行に属する前記発光素子を前記駆動周期毎に、時系列的にL分割して順次、発光駆動することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第2のドライバは、前記少なくとも1つの行を含むL行(Lは2以上m未満の整数)分の各行に属する前記発光素子を前記駆動周期に亘り発光駆動することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1及び第2のドライバを制御することにより前記発光パネルにおける配光パターンを変更する配光制御部を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記配光制御部は、照射回避物の有無を示す信号を受け当該信号に応じて前記第1及び第2のドライバを制御することにより前記照射回避物の有無に対応した配光パターンで前記発光パネルを発光させることを特徴とする請求項5記載の発光装置。
- 前記配光制御部は、車両の操舵方向を示す信号を受け当該信号に応じて前記第1及び第2のドライバを制御することにより前記車両の操舵方向に対応した配光パターンで前記発光パネルを発光させることを特徴とする請求項5又は6記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1及び第2のドライバは、前記発光パネルにおける2次元発光面内の水平方向における端部の領域を除く中央領域に配列されている前記発光素子を前記発光駆動の対象とし、
前記端部の領域に配置されている前記m行の各行に属する前記発光素子を前記駆動周期毎に、時系列的にm分割して順次、発光駆動する第3のドライバを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の発光装置。 - 前記端部の領域及び前記中央領域には、異なるサイズの前記発光素子が配列されていることを特徴とする請求項8記載の発光装置。
