前記排気口経路のそれぞれの前記断面の外周が前記多角形の形状を有し、前記排気口経路の前記断面の外周は、長さが等しい4つの辺を有し、2対の内部壁が2つの対向する鋭角を形成し、前記排気口経路の前記断面の外周の前記鋭角は、50度〜85度であり、前記断面の外周が排気口外周長を有し、かつ前記排気口経路の前記断面の外周によって画定される前記排気口経路の断面積に対する前記吸気口経路の前記断面の外周によって画定される前記吸気口経路の前記断面積の比が1.0より大きく、
前記吸気口経路のそれぞれは、隣接する吸気口経路に接触する4つの共通隅角部を含み、前記排気口経路のそれぞれは、隣接する排気口経路に接触する4つの共通隅角部を含み、隣接する吸気口経路に接触する吸気口経路の前記共通隅角部の厚さは、隣接する排気口経路に接触する排気口経路の前記共通隅角部の厚さに等しく、
前記吸気口経路の表面積は、前記吸気口外周長に長手方向における前記吸気口経路の前記内部壁の長さを乗じたものとして定義され、

- 前記フィルタは0.9以下の比V/Vmaxを有し、ここで、Vは前記排気口経路の前記断面の外周の前記鋭角が50度〜85度未満における全ての前記吸気口経路の容積および全ての前記排気口経路の容積の和によって定義される総容積であり、Vmaxは前記排気口経路の前記断面の外周の前記鋭角が85度における全ての前記吸気口経路の容積および全ての前記排気口経路の最大容積の和の最大値である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム状フィルタ。
