Claims (14)
- 2次元状に配列された複数の画素電極と、該画素電極に対向して設けられた対向電極と、前記画素電極と前記対向電極との間に設けられ、有機材料から形成された有機層とを備えた固体撮像素子であって、
前記有機層が、一様に形成された複数の層を含むものであり、
前記複数の層に含まれる2つの層が、一方の層の形成範囲が他方の層の形成範囲を含み、かつ前記一方の層の形成範囲が前記他方の層の形成範囲よりも広くなるよう形成されたものであり、
前記一方の層の形成範囲の端部と前記他方の層の形成範囲の端部とが、1μm以上離れていることを特徴とする固体撮像素子。 - 前記一方の層の方が前記他方の層よりも熱安定性が高い層であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記2つの層が、電極からの電子の注入を阻止する電子ブロッキング層と、光を受光して該光の光量に応じた電荷を発生する光電変換層とであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記光電変換層が、p型有機化合物半導体と、フラーレンまたはフラーレン誘導体とを混合したバルクヘテロ層であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記電子ブロッキング層が前記画素電極上に形成され、前記光電変換層が前記電子ブロッキング層上に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3または4記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記一方の層が前記光電変換層であり、前記他方の層が前記電子ブロッキング層であることを特徴とする請求項5記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記一方の層が前記電子ブロッキング層であり、前記他方の層が前記光電変換層であることを特徴とする請求項5記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記2つの層が、電極からの電子の注入を阻止する電子ブロッキング層であり、
前記一方の層が、前記対向電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層であり、
前記他方の層が、前記画素電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の固体撮像素子。 - 前記対向電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層が、フラーレンまたはフラーレン誘導体を含む層であることを特徴とする請求項8記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記対向電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層上に、光の照射を受けて電荷を発生する光電変換層が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項8または9記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記光電変換層が、前記対向電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層よりも狭い範囲に形成されたものであることを特徴とする請求項10記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記対向電極に近い側の電子ブロッキング層の方が前記光電変換層よりも熱安定性が高い層であることを特徴とする請求項11記載の固体撮像素子。
- 前記光電変換層が、p型有機化合物半導体と、フラーレンまたはフラーレン誘導体とを混合したバルクヘテロ層であることを特徴とする請求項12記載の固体撮像素子。
- 請求項1から13いずれか1項記載の固体撮像素子を備えたことを特徴とする撮像装置。
