Claims (6)
- バイオプロセシングで用いる混合流体を調製する方法であって、前記方法は、
(a)少なくとも1つの流体と前記流体に混合される少なくとも1つの成分とを入口ポートを通してバイオコンテナの中に入れるステップであって、
前記バイオコンテナが、底壁、上壁、並びに前記上壁及び前記底壁に接合した少なくとも1つの壁を備えた、内容積部を有する閉鎖コンテナと、少なくとも前記入口ポートと、前記底壁内に配置された排出ポートとを備え、前記バイオコンテナが、インペラと、前記バイオコンテナの前記底壁に取り付けられたハウジングアセンブリとを備えた回転攪拌機をさらに備え、
前記インペラが、
(i)第1の端部と第2の端部とを有する円筒形要素を備え、垂直回転軸を有する回転シャフトであって、前記バイオコンテナの底壁を貫通し、前記第1の端部が前記コンテナの内容積部の中に延びるとともに前記第2の端部が前記底壁の外側に延びるようになった回転シャフトと、
(ii)前記回転シャフトの前記第1の端部上に取り付けられ、前記回転シャフトの前記垂直回転軸に直交する水平軸を有するハブと、
(iii)前記ハブから延びる、各アームが上縁部、下縁部、ハブ端部、末端部、アーム外面、アーム内面、及び前記ハブ端部から前記末端部までの長さを備えた少なくとも2つのアームと、
を備え、
前記アームの前記ハブ端部が、前記ハブに接続し、
前記アームの前記末端部が、(iv)前記アームの前記下縁部から延びる突起をさらに備え、前記突起が、第1の端部、第2の端部、突起外面、及び突起内面を備えるとともに前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部との間の距離を有し、前記第1の端部が、前記アームの前記ハブ端部と該アームの前記末端部との間に配置され、前記第2の端部が、前記アームの前記末端部に延び、前記突起外面が、前記アーム外面に対して少なくとも約45°〜約90°の範囲内の角度を形成すると共に前記バイオコンテナの前記底壁に対して垂直であり、前記突起の前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部との間の前記距離が、前記アームの前記ハブ端部から該アームの前記末端部までの前記長さの約25%〜約60%の範囲内にある、
ステップと、
(b)前記インペラを回転させ、前記少なくとも1つの流体と前記流体に混合される前記少なくとも1つの成分とを混合し、前記混合流体を生成するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記インペラを回転させながら、前記バイオコンテナの前記内容積部から前記排出ポートに混合流体を通すステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも約20のターンダウン比を得ることを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- バイオプロセシングでの使用のための混合容器であって、
(a)底壁、上壁、並びに前記上壁及び前記底壁に接合した少なくとも1つの側壁を備えた、流体を収容するのに適した内容積部を有する閉鎖コンテナと、少なくとも入口ポートと、前記底壁内に配置された排出ポートと、を備えたバイオコンテナを備え、
前記バイオコンテナが、
(b)インペラとハウジングアセンブリとを備えた回転攪拌機をさらに備え、
前記インペラが、
(i)第1の端部と第2の端部とを有する円筒形要素を備えた、垂直回転軸を有する回転シャフトであって、前記バイオコンテナの底壁を貫通し、前記第1の端部が前記コンテナの内容積部の中に延びるとともに前記第2の端部が前記底壁の外側に延びるようになった回転シャフトと、
(ii)前記回転シャフトの前記第1の端部上に取り付けられ、前記回転シャフトの前記垂直回転軸に直交する水平軸を有するハブと、
(iii)前記ハブから延びる少なくとも2つのアームであり、各アームが上縁部、下縁部、ハブ端部、末端部、アーム外面、アーム内面、及び前記ハブ端部から前記末端部までの長さを備える、少なくとも2つのアームと、
を備え、
前記アームの前記ハブ端部が前記ハブに接続し、
前記アームの前記末端部が、
(iv)前記アームの前記下縁部から延びる突起をさらに備え、前記突起が、第1の端部、第2の端部、突起外面、及び突起内面を備えるとともに前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部との間の距離を有し、前記第1の端部が、前記アームの前記ハブ端部と該アームの前記末端部との間に配置され、前記第2の端部が、前記アームの前記末端部に延び、前記突起外面が、前記アーム外面に対して少なくとも約45°〜約90°の範囲内の角度を形成すると共に前記バイオコンテナの前記底壁に対して垂直であり、前記突起の前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部との間の前記距離が、前記アームの前記ハブ端部から該アームの前記末端部までの前記長さの約25%〜約60%の範囲内にあり、
(v)前記ハウジングアセンブリが、前記バイオコンテナの前記底壁に連結され、軸受及びシールを備え、前記回転シャフトをシールするように支持し、前記シャフトの前記第2の端部が前記ハウジングアセンブリを貫通する、
混合容器。 - 前記バイオコンテナが、前記底壁、前記上壁、互いに対向する第1の側壁及び第2の側壁、並びに互いに対向する第3の側壁及び第4の側壁を備え、前記第1、第2、第3及び第4の側壁が前記上壁及び前記底壁に接合した、請求項4に記載の混合容器。
- 液体入口ポート、気体入口ポート、気体出口ポート、粉体入口ポート、酸/塩基入口ポート、プローブポート、及び/又は試料ポートを含む少なくとも1つの追加ポートをさらに備えた、請求項4又は5に記載の混合容器。
