Description
Claims (15)
- 弾道防弾に使用される構造体(10)であって、
前記構造体(10)の被攻撃面(14)を有する第1外層(22)と、
前記構造体(10)の裏面(16)を有する第2外層(24)と、
前記第1外層と前記第2外層の間にある、交互に配置された一連の第1中間層(26)及び第2中間層(30)とを備え、前記第2中間層(30)はポリマー繊維複合材料から形成されており、前記第1外層(22)は前記第2中間層(30)よりも高い剛性を有し、前記第1中間層(26)は前記第2中間層(30)よりも高い剛性を有し、前記被攻撃面(14)の近傍に配置された前記第1中間層(26)の剛性が前記裏面(16)の近傍に配置された前記第1中間層(26)の剛性よりも高い、構造体(10)。 - 前記被攻撃面(14)の近傍に配置された前記第2中間層(30)の剛性が前記裏面(16)の近傍に配置された前記第2中間層(30)の剛性よりも高い、請求項1に記載の構造体(10)。
- 前記第1中間層(26)のいずれか1つは、交互に連続するように配置されている複数の小第1中間層を有しており、前記複数の小第1中間層の各々が異なる機械特性を有する、請求項1又は2に記載の構造体。
- 前記第2中間層(30)のいずれか1つは、交互に連続するように配置されている複数の小第2中間層を有しており、前記複数の小第2中間層の各々が異なる機械特性を有する、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 前記第1外層(22)は、少なくとも部分的にセラミック材料又はガラス材料でできている、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 前記第1外層(22)と前記第1中間層(26)と前記第2中間層(30)は各々、光学的に透明である、
請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 前記第2外層(24)が、前記第2中間層(30)よりも高い剛性を有する、
請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 前記第2外層(24)が、複合層(32)及びガラス層(28)のうちの少なくとも一つを含み、
前記複合層(32)は、マトリックス(54)内に埋め込まれた複数の繊維(56)を含み、前記第2中間層(30)の剛性より高い剛性を有しており、前記繊維(56)は、ガラス繊維と、前記第2中間層のポリマー繊維の剛性より高い剛性を有するポリマー繊維の少なくとも一方である、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 前記第1中間層(26)が、少なくとも一つの複合層(32)と少なくとも一つのガラス層(28)を含み、
前記複合層(32)は、マトリックス(54)内に埋め込まれた複数の繊維(56)を含み、前記第2中間層(30)の剛性より高い剛性を有しており、前記繊維(56)は、ガラス繊維と、前記第2中間層のポリマー繊維の剛性より高い剛性を有するポリマー繊維の少なくとも一方である、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 前記第2外層(24)の前記裏面(16)に装着されたスポール層(34)
をさらに含む、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 弾道防弾に使用される構造体(10)を製造する方法であって、
交互に配置された一連の第1中間層(26)及び第2中間層(30)を、前記構造体(10)の被攻撃面(14)を有するセラミック材料及びガラス材料のうちの少なくとも一つから形成された第1外層(22)に装着するステップと、
前記構造体(10)の裏面(16)を有する第2外層(24)を、前記第1中間層(26)及び第2中間層(30)に装着するステップとを備え、前記第2中間層(30)はポリマー繊維複合材料から形成されており、前記第2中間層(30)は前記第1外層(22)よりも低い剛性を有し、前記第1中間層(26)は前記第2中間層(30)よりも高い剛性を有し、前記被攻撃面(14)の近傍に配置された前記第1中間層(26)の剛性が前記裏面(16)の近傍に配置された前記第1中間層(26)の剛性よりも高い、方法。 - 前記第2中間層(30)よりも高い剛性を有する前記第2外層(24)を形成するステップをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 複合層(32)とガラス層(28)のうちの少なくとも一つから前記第2外層(24)を形成するステップをさらに含み、前記複合層(32)は、マトリックス(54)内に埋め込まれた複数の繊維(56)を含み、前記第2中間層(30)の剛性より高い剛性を有しており、前記繊維(56)は、ガラス繊維と、前記第2中間層のポリマー繊維の剛性より高い剛性を有するポリマー繊維の少なくとも一方である、請求項11又は12に記載の方法。
- 前記第1中間層(26)のいずれか1つを、交互に連続するように配置されている複数の小第1中間層から形成するステップをさらに含み、前記複数の小第1中間層の各々が異なる機械特性を有する、請求項11から13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記第2中間層(30)のいずれか1つを、交互に連続するように配置されている複数の小第2中間層から形成し、前記複数の小第2中間層の各々が異なる機械特性を有する、請求項11から14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
