Claims (4)
- マフラボックス(22)と,このマフラボックス(22)に設けられてエンジン(E)の排気管(5)に接続される排気入口管(29)と,同マフラボックス(22)に設けられて大気に開口するテールパイプ(43)と,前記マフラボックス(22)内で前記排気入口管(29)及びテールパイプ(43)間を連通する排気経路に介装される触媒コンバータ(34)とを備える,触媒コンバータ付きマフラにおいて,
前記マフラボックス(22)を,互いに開放面を突き合わせる第1及び第2ボックス半体(23,24)と,これら第1及び第2ボックス半体(23,24)間に介装される隔壁(25)との三者の外周端を結合して構成し,前記第1ボックス半体(23)及び前記隔壁(25)間に前記排気入口管(29)に連なる第1消音室(27)を,また第2ボックス半体(24)及び前記隔壁(25)間に前記テールパイプ(43)に連なる第2消音室(28)をそれぞれ画成し,前記隔壁(25)を,外周部を互いに密着させる一対の隔壁板(25A,25B)で構成し,これら隔壁板(25A,25B)に,前記第1及び第2消音室(27,28)側にそれぞれ突出して相互に間隔を存して並ぶ一対の支持ボス(33a,33b)を形成し,この両支持ボス(33a,33b)により,前記第1及び第2消音室(27,28)間を連通する前記触媒コンバータ(34)の保持筒(36)を支持したことを特徴とする,触媒コンバータ付きマフラ。 - 請求項1記載の触媒コンバータ付きマフラにおいて,
前記一対の隔壁板(25A,25B)に,前記第1及び第2消音室(27,28)側へそれぞれ膨出して相互間に第3消音室(39)を画成する膨出部(40a,40b)をそれぞれ形成し,その一方の膨出部(40b)に前記第2及び第3消音室(28,39)間を連通する複数の消音通孔(41)を設けると共に,前記第3消音室(39)にテールパイプ(43)の内端を開口したことを特徴とする,触媒コンバータ付きマフラ。 - 請求項1又は2記載の触媒コンバータ付きマフラにおいて,
前記触媒コンバータ(34)の保持筒(36)の両端部には,内部の触媒(35)を挟んで互いに対向するフレイムアレスタ(37)を付設したことを特徴とする,触媒コンバータ付きマフラ。 - 請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の触媒コンバータ付きマフラにおいて,
前記触媒コンバータ(34)での排ガス浄化反応を促進すべく,前記排気管(5)もしくは排気入口管(29)に供給される2次空気が前記第1消音室(27)で排ガスと混合するようにしたことを特徴とする,触媒コンバータ付きマフラ。
