Description
本出願は、参照によりその開示の全体が本明細書に組み込まれる、2009年9月10日に出願された「DOCKING TRAY WITH DUAL CHARGING MODE」と題する米国仮特許出願第61/241,344号の米国特許法第119条(e)項に基づく優先権を主張するものである。
当業者には理解されるように、疎結合によって、ワイヤレス充電器が、ネットブックなどのポータブルコンピューティングデバイスのバッテリに十分な電流を提供し、妥当な時間内にバッテリを充電することができない恐れがある。さらに、十分な充電を提供することは、疎に結合したシステムにおいて、非常に強い場が必要となる可能性があり、比吸収率(SAR)要件を満足しない可能性がある。

Claims (19)
- 第1の充電可能デバイス及び第2の充電可能デバイスを充電するよう構成された、少なくとも1つの送電アンテナを有するトランスミッタと、
制御回路と
を具備し、
前記制御回路は、第1の負荷サイズの第1の負荷を有する前記第1の充電可能デバイス、もしくは、第2の負荷サイズの第2の負荷を有する前記第2の充電可能デバイスが、前記トランスミッタの充電領域内にあるか否かを判断するように構成され、前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さく、
前記制御回路は、前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記第2の充電可能デバイスへ前記トランスミッタによって送信される送信電力レベルを変更するように構成され、
前記制御回路は、前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さいことに基づいて、前記トランスミッタによって、第1の時間間隔中に前記第1の充電可能デバイスに第1の電力を提供させ、第2の時間間隔中に前記第2の充電可能デバイスに第2の電力を提供させるように構成されており、前記第2の電力が前記第1の電力よりも少ないものであり、
前記第2の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記トランスミッタの前記少なくとも1つの送電アンテナの寸法より小さい寸法を有し、
前記第1の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記第2の充電可能デバイスの前記少なくとも1つの受電アンテナの寸法より大きい寸法を有する、
ワイヤレス充電デバイス。 - 前記トランスミッタは、前記第1の充電可能デバイスと前記トランスミッタが0.1より大きな結合係数を有する間、前記第1の電力を供給するよう構成された、請求項1に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記トランスミッタは、前記第2の充電可能デバイスと前記トランスミッタが0.1より小さな結合係数を有する間、前記第2の電力を供給するよう構成された、請求項1に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記トランスミッタの前記少なくとも1つの送電アンテナを前記第1の充電可能デバイスの前記少なくとも1つの受電アンテナと位置合わせすることが可能であるように構成された位置合わせデバイスをさらに備える、請求項1に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記充電領域内に、前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記第2の充電可能デバイスを配置するように構成された充電面をさらに備える、請求項1に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- ワイヤレス充電の方法であって、
少なくとも1つの送電アンテナを介して、第1の充電可能デバイス及び第2の充電可能デバイスにワイヤレス電力を送信するステップと、
第1の負荷サイズの第1の負荷を有する前記第1の充電可能デバイス、もしくは、第2の負荷サイズの第2の負荷を有する前記第2の充電可能デバイスが、充電領域内にあるか否かを判断するステップであって、前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さい、ステップと、
前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記第2の充電可能デバイスへトランスミッタによって送信される送信電力レベルを変更するステップと、
前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さいことに基づいて、前記トランスミッタによって、第1の時間間隔中に前記第1の充電可能デバイスに第1の電力を提供させ、第2の時間間隔中に前記第2の充電可能デバイスに第2の電力を提供させるステップであって、前記第2の電力が前記第1の電力よりも少ないものである、ステップと
を含み、
前記第2の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記少なくとも1つの送電アンテナの寸法より小さい寸法を有し、
前記第1の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記第2の充電可能デバイスの前記少なくとも1つの受電アンテナの寸法より大きい寸法を有する、方法。 - 前記送電アンテナは、前記第1の充電可能デバイスと前記送電アンテナが0.1より大きな結合係数を有する間、前記第1の電力でワイヤレス電力を送信する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記送電アンテナは、前記第2の充電可能デバイスと前記送電アンテナが0.1より小さな結合係数を有する間、前記第2の電力でワイヤレス電力を送信する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 位置合わせデバイスを介して、前記少なくとも1つの送電アンテナを前記第1の充電可能デバイスの前記少なくとも1つの受電アンテナと位置合わせするステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 充電面を介して、前記充電領域内に、前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記第2の充電可能デバイスを維持するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- ワイヤレス充電デバイスであって、
第1の充電可能デバイス及び第2の充電可能デバイスにワイヤレス電力を送信する手段と、
第1の負荷サイズの第1の負荷を有する前記第1の充電可能デバイス、もしくは、第2の負荷サイズの第2の負荷を有する前記第2の充電可能デバイスが、充電領域内にあるか否かを判断する手段であって、前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さい、手段と、
前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記第2の充電可能デバイスへ送信される電力の量を変更する手段と、
前記第2の負荷が前記第1の負荷より小さいことに基づいて、前記ワイヤレス電力を送信する手段によって、第1の時間間隔中に前記第1の充電可能デバイスに第1の電力を提供させ、第2の時間間隔中に前記第2の充電可能デバイスに第2の電力を提供させる手段であって、前記第2の電力が前記第1の電力よりも少ないものである、手段と
を具備し、
前記ワイヤレス電力を送信する手段は、少なくとも1つの送電アンテナを備え、前記第2の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記少なくとも1つの送電アンテナの寸法より小さい寸法を有し、前記第1の充電可能デバイスの少なくとも1つの受電アンテナは、前記第2の充電可能デバイスの前記少なくとも1つの受電アンテナの寸法より大きい寸法を有する、
ワイヤレス充電デバイス。 - 少なくとも1つのコイルを有する送信回路を具備し、前記送信回路は、ワイヤレスフィールドを介して少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスをワイヤレスに充電するように構成され、
前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスによって前記送信回路に提示される負荷の大きさを示す値を判断し、
第1の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させて、第1の時間間隔中に、前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの第1の充電可能デバイスを充電させ、
第2の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させて、前記第1の時間間隔とは異なる第2の時間間隔中に、前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスを充電させ、かつ、
前記送信回路に提示される前記負荷の大きさの示す値に少なくとも部分的に基づいて、前記第1の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させるか、又は、前記第2の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させるかを選択的に判断する
よう構成された制御回路を具備し、前記第1の充電可能デバイスによって前記送信回路に提示される前記負荷の大きさが、前記少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスによって前記送信回路に提示される前記負荷の大きさより大きいとき、前記第1の電力レベルが前記第2の電力レベルよりも高いものである、
ワイヤレス充電デバイス。 - 前記制御回路は、前記少なくとも1つの充電回路のうちの前記第1の充電可能デバイスと前記送信回路が0.1より大きな結合係数を有する密に結合したシステムを形成する間、前記第1の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させるよう構成された、請求項12に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、前記少なくとも1つの充電回路のうちの前記少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスと前記送信回路が0.1より小さな結合係数を有する疎に結合したシステムを形成する間、前記第2の電力レベルで前記送信回路に電力を送信させるよう構成された、請求項12に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの前記第1の充電可能デバイスは、前記少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスの受電アンテナの寸法より大きい寸法を有する受電アンテナを備える、請求項12に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記送信回路の前記少なくとも1つのコイルを、前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの前記第1の充電可能デバイスの受電アンテナと位置合わせすることが可能であるように構成された位置合わせデバイスをさらに備える、請求項12に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの前記第1の充電可能デバイス及び前記少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスを配置するように構成された充電面をさらに備える、請求項12に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- 前記送信回路の前記少なくとも1つのコイルは前記充電面の近傍に配置される、請求項17に記載のワイヤレス充電デバイス。
- ワイヤレスフィールドを介してワイヤレス充電デバイスにおいて少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスを充電する方法であって、
前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスによってワイヤレス充電デバイスに提示される負荷の大きさを示す値を判断するステップと、
第1の電力レベルで電力をワイヤレスに送信させて、第1の時間間隔中に、前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの第1の充電可能デバイスを充電させるステップと、
第2の電力レベルで電力をワイヤレスに送信させて、前記第1の時間間隔とは異なる第2の時間間隔中に、前記少なくとも1つの充電可能デバイスのうちの少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスを充電させるステップであって、前記第1の充電可能デバイスによって前記ワイヤレス充電デバイスに提示される前記負荷の大きさが、前記少なくとも1つの第2の充電可能デバイスによって前記ワイヤレス充電デバイスに提示される前記負荷の大きさより大きいとき、前記第1の電力レベルが前記第2の電力レベルよりも高いものである、ステップと、
前記ワイヤレス充電デバイスに提示される前記負荷の大きさの示す値に少なくとも部分的に基づいて、前記第1の電力レベルで電力をワイヤレスに送信させるか、又は、前記第2の電力レベルで電力をワイヤレス送信させるかを選択的に判断するステップと
を含む方法。
