Description
アンテナは、理想的には、ビームの方向及び極性の多様性を示すタイプのものであり、そのようなアンテナからなるアンテナアレイは、ベスト着用者のいる場所に隣接した近距離領域に存在するRFIDタグを感知する。アンテナアレイはポータブルリーダと接続され、ポータブルリーダの電源装置はベストに搭載されるか、又はベスト着用者によって携行される。
フィードライン18は、離隔して置かれた、比較的に短いスタブ21という形状の乱れ(perturbation)を有する。RFエネルギを放射するように設計されたスタブ21、即ちダイポール放射器21は、典型的にフィードラインと同じ材料で作られ、対応するフィードラインと電気的に接続される。隣接したスタブ21のペアは、一つ一つが各々のフィードライン18に付着され、双極を形成する。好ましくは、各スタブ21は、フィードライン18と接続する部分に向かって直角に伸びる。

Claims (12)
- RFIDアンテナアレイ、RFIDタグリーダ、及び電源装置からなる構成要素の組み合わせを備えて人物に着用又は携行されるシステムであって、
前記構成要素は、前記電源装置が前記RFIDタグリーダに電力を供給し、前記RFIDタグリーダが前記RFIDアンテナアレイにエネルギを供給し、前記人物の手と腕が前記構成要素によって邪魔されない状態で前記人物が或る領域を通過する際に前記RFIDアンテナアレイを介してRFIDタグからの信号を受信する、動作をなすように相互に接続されており、
前記RFIDアンテナアレイは、蛇行する導体のツインフィードユニットと、前記蛇行する導体に対し概して直角方向に延伸された複数のダイポール放射器と、前記ダイポール放射器から少なくとも(3/4)インチ離隔した反射材と、からなり、
前記RFIDアンテナアレイが前記人物の前面の床面から頭上までの近傍領域に向かって同時に放射するように配置されている、ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記RFIDアンテナアレイが二つの独立したツインフィードアンテナを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記ツインフィードアンテナが前記人物の胴体の左右に一つずつ配置されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記RFIDアンテナアレイはその長手方向に沿って分布されるダイポール放射器を持つツインフィードユニットであり、前記ダイポール放射器は前記人物の頭上を越えて放射できるよう、前記人物の肩の上又は肩の後ろに配置されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記ツインフィードアンテナが、細長く且つ柔軟な誘電性シートに搭載された蛇行する導体を有し、前記細長く且つ柔軟な誘電性シートは前記人物の左右の肩を各々覆うように配置されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のシステム。
- 前記ツインフィードアンテナは各々、細長い布製の詰め物をした袋(pouch)に収納されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 或る空間を移動できる人物の胴体に搭載されたRFIDアンテナアレイを用いて前記空間内に配置されたRFIDタグを読み取る方法であって、
前記RFIDアンテナアレイは、蛇行する導体と、前記蛇行する導体に対し概して直角に配置された延伸された複数のダイポール放射器と、前記ダイポール放射器から少なくとも(3/4)インチ離隔した反射材と、からなり、
前記RFIDアンテナアレイが床面から頭上まで近距離領域をスキャンし、RFIDタグのデータを前記人物が携行するRFIDリーダに送信する間に、前記人物の手と腕が前記RFIDアンテナアレイを支持する以外の業務を遂行できるような状態で、前記RFIDアンテナアレイが前記人物の胴体に配置されている、ことを特徴とするRFIDタグ読み取り方法。 - 前記RFIDアンテナアレイは二つの細長く且つ柔軟な複数の放射器アンテナから成り、前記複数の放射器アンテナは前記人物の各々対応する肩に掛けられることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のRFIDタグ読み取り方法。
- 各、前記複数の放射器アンテナの放射サイトは前記人物の対応する肩の上か又は肩の後ろに配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のRFIDタグ読み取り方法。
- 各、前記複数の放射器アンテナは柔軟な誘電性シートに搭載されたツインフィードラインによって形成され、前記誘電性シートは前記人物が着用するベストから着脱可能に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のRFIDタグ読み取り方法。
- 前記複数の放射器アンテナは各々細長い布製の詰め物をした袋に収納され、袋はベスト内部に着脱可能に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のRFIDタグ読み取り方法。
- 前記RFIDタグは前記RFIDタグを用いるシステムが使用されている構内の既知の位置に永久的に置かれることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のRFIDタグ読み取り方法。w
