Abstract

Description

便携式射频辨识系统和在空间中读取射频辨识标签的方法
技术领域
本发明涉及射频辨识(RFID)的实施,特别涉及一种便携式射频辨识系统和在空间中读取射频辨识标签的方法。
背景技术
如同在制造、运输及其他商业活动中,射频辨识标签及读取器被运用于各种库存状态控制。随着射频辨识系统及射频辨识标签的成本下降,此技术越来越普及。例如在零售商店、仓库及运输产业,员工携带手持式读取器对组件、产品、包装箱等对象进行扫描。扫描程序能用于确认库存状态或达到运送指示的精准度。除此之外还存在许多其他的应用,且在其中便携式扫描仪产生重要的功能。然而现有的便携式射频辨识扫描仪大致为单向的,且需手动指向待辨识的对象。
因此,需要提供一种便携式射频辨识系统和在空间中读取射频辨识标签的方法来解决上述问题。
发明内容
本发明提供一种可被使用者舒适地穿戴的便携式射频辨识系统(portable RFIDsystem)。所公开的系统能自动进行扫描操作(scanning operation)而不需要员工花费注意力手动操作,使员工的双手能用于完成各种工作。本发明的该扫描系统能实施于一装设有一射频辨识天线阵列的背心式(vest-like)衣服,该射频辨识天线阵列较佳地包含多个狭长状且可挠且多向的天线。较佳地,该等天线具有多个电波方向(beam direction)及极性(polarity)。该射频辨识天线阵列能检测遍布于邻近穿着该衣服的使用者的一邻近区域内的射频辨识标签。该射频辨识天线阵列通过缆线电连接于一便携式射频辨识标签读取器及一电源供应器,该便携式射频辨识标签读取器及该电源供应器装设于该背心,或以其他方式被该穿着该背心者携带。穿着该衣服的使用者可不花任何力气注意而通过该系统记录任何出现的标签。射频辨识标签读取器读取的标签数据能被储存而供事后下载,或被无线地传送至一分离的遥控控制器。
因此,本发明的智能型衣服能登记邻近区域/空间内任何一处出现的标签,其中该邻近区域位于穿着该智能型衣服的使用者所处的地点和/或路径。穿着该智能型衣服者能通过一设备四处移动并执行与标签读取有关或无关的工作,而该智能型衣服能检测出存在于穿着该智能型衣服者所通过的空间中任何一处的标签。当运用于零售业时,店员能整理产品货架的表面并响应顾客的询问。当店员完成必要工作时,店员不需要花费精神或力气使用射频辨识系统,该智能型衣服即能检查库存状态及产品位置。
本发明提供一种便携式射频辨识系统,该便携式射频辨识系统包括:一射频辨识天线阵列;一射频辨识标签读取器;以及一电源供应器;该射频辨识天线阵列、该射频辨识标签读取器及该电源供应器适于供一使用者穿戴或以其他方式携带,且适于彼此电连接以使该电源供应器供电给该射频辨识标签读取器,且使该射频辨识标签读取器供电给该射频辨识天线阵列,并使该射频辨识标签读取器在该使用者通过一区域时通过该射频辨识天线阵列接收一射频辨识标签信号。
本发明还提供一种在空间中读取射频辨识标签的方法,该在空间中读取射频辨识标签的方法包括:(A)使用一设置于一使用者的躯干上的射频辨识天线阵列,该使用者能通过一空间;以及(B)该射频辨识天线阵列设置于该使用者的躯干的方式,能使得当该射频辨识天线阵列扫描一由地面至该使用者头部上方的邻近区域且传送射频辨识数据给一该使用者携带的射频辨识标签读取器时,该使用者的手部不需支撑该射频辨识天线阵列而能完成其他工作。
本发明除了用于确认库存状态外,在其他的应用中还能确认组装及运送的精确度。在各种应用中,穿着该便携式射频辨识系统的使用者的手部皆能自由地完成一般或需要手工的作业。

具体实施方式
本发明涉及一便携式射频辨识系统10。如图4所示,该便携式射频辨识系统10包括一射频辨识天线阵列(antenna array)11、一射频辨识标签读取器(reader)12及一电池式的电源供应器(battery power supply)13。如图1至图3中绘示的使用者14携带有该便携式射频辨识系统10以扫描多个射频辨识标签(RFID tag)。各射频辨识标签关联于一单独的对象(object),如一产品、一组件或包装箱(package)等。通过本发明的便携式射频辨识系统10,该使用者14能自由地在放置有加上射频辨识标签的货物的空间中四处移动,例如零售商店、仓库、工厂、运输站、医疗场所等。
较佳地,本发明的射频辨识天线阵列11可以是类似美国专利第8,058,998号公开者。与该专利不同的是,本发明用于辐射或接收电磁信号的射频辨识天线阵列11包含多个高可挠性且狭长形的天线16。该等天线16适于弯折而仅占有限的长度。
参阅图4,射频辨识天线阵列11较佳地包含二蜿蜒的天线16。各天线16在平放于一平整支撑物时,具有一狭长的轴线(如虚线17所示),该等轴线通过一对平行且呈曲线状且来回绕设的双馈入式导线(导体)18。该天线16可以由一矩形状且可挠的介电基板19(或薄膜)构成,例如厂牌

的相关产品。双馈入式导线18是通过黏附或其他方式设置于介电基板19上。双馈入式导线18是以导电材质(如铜或铝片)制成。在相间隔的位置下,双馈入式导线18通过长度较短的偶极辐射体21产生蜿蜒状。偶极辐射体21用于辐射射频能量,且通常是由与双馈入式导线18相同的材质制成,且各偶极辐射体21电连接于与其对应的双馈入式导线18。相邻且分别设于一双馈入式导线18的一对偶极辐射体21形成偶极。较佳地,各偶极辐射体21以一正确的角度延伸至其与双馈入式导线18相交处。
举例来说,天线16是3英尺长,而用于支撑偶极辐射体21的介电基板19是7英寸宽。各天线16收纳于一耐久性高、防水、狭长状、平坦状且布质的袋体22。各袋体22内设置有一软质的减震层或棉絮23,且棉絮23设置于天线16面向携带该射频辨识天线阵列11的使用者的一侧。同轴缆线24的内导体(center conductor)及外导电套体(outerconductive sheath)分别电连接至对应的天线16的其中一双馈入式导线18,且伸出至袋体22外部。
一个有效布设射频辨识天线阵列11的方法是将各天线16配置于背心或与背心相似的衣服26内部。较佳地,该等天线分别设置于衣服26的左半部及右半部,且各天线16大部分是位于衣服26的前侧。同轴缆线24设置于衣服26内部的后侧。各天线16邻接同轴缆线24的偶极辐射体21是位于衣服26的肩部。
较佳地,袋体22可拆卸地设置于衣服26内部,设置的方式可以是通过厂牌的相关产品、掀钮(snap)、钮扣、拉链或口袋等固紧件。通过该等可拆卸的固紧件,袋体22可由衣服26取下,使得衣服26可以被洗涤或归还。
射频辨识标签读取器12分别通过该等同轴缆线24电连接至天线16。射频辨识标签读取器12及电源供应器13是被穿着衣服26的使用者14携带,且电源供应器13通常是一电连接于射频辨识标签读取器12的一充电电池。射频辨识标签读取器12及电源供应器13可通过固紧件固定以设置于衣服26的内部口袋,或者,可设置于一可与衣服26分离的腰带上。
图1至图3绘示被使用者14穿戴的射频辨识天线阵列11的一较佳配置。图3绘示偶极辐射体21产生的射频电波。射频辨识天线阵列11辐射至一位于使用者14前方及两侧的邻近区域,该邻近区域大致呈圆柱形且由地面延伸至使用者头部上方。依据不同的功率大小,射频辨识天线阵列11的辐射范围能介于2英尺至10英尺之间。
到达使用者的射频功率密度是最小值。射频功率分布于设有偶极辐射体21处。较佳地,该等天线16是交替地被供电,因此各该天线16的责任周期减半。更佳地,该等天线16在射频辨识标签读取器12处理数据时不运作,因此能进一步减少该等天线16的责任周期。射频辨识标签读取器12供电给偶极辐射体21,并通过偶极辐射体21接收来自射频辨识标签的射频辨识信号。若有需要,可通过一设于使用者14与天线16间的反射性材料将使用者与天线16的辐射隔离,反射性材料可以是导电金属薄膜或布。反射性材料(如棉絮23)产生的间隔距离至少为3/4英寸。
由于袋体22及其内容物具有可挠性且重量轻,使用者14既不用费力地担负该便携式射频辨识系统10,该便携式射频辨识系统10也不会妨碍使用者移动。值得一提的是,使用者14在穿着设有便携式射频辨识系统10的衣服26时,使用者14的手部能自由地完成任何工作。穿着该便携式射频辨识系统10的使用者14能走过或以其他方式通过配置有加上射频辨识标签的对象的空间。该便携式射频辨识系统10将读取所有射频辨识天线阵列11可读取的范围内的标签。射频辨识标签读取器12能将数据暂存于一装置供事后传送至一控制器,或将数据以无线传输的方式传送至一遥控控制器。
本发明除了能设置于背心式的衣服上,还有其他的配置方式。当本发明设置于实验室外套或长袍(gown),天线16的长度可以增加。射频辨识天线阵列11也可以设置于披肩(stole)或围巾(scarf)。本发明除了使用于零售商店,还可应用于工厂组装产线、运输部门及与保健事业有关的场所。该便携式射频辨识系统10除了用于确认库存状态外,在其他的应用中还能确认组装及运送的精确度。在各种应用中,穿着该便携式射频辨识系统10的使用者14的手部皆能自由地完成一般或需要手工的作业。
如商店、工厂、仓库等场所的已知地点的特定区域能长期地设置射频辨识标签。通过该便携式射频辨识系统10同时检测对象标签及地点标签,能测定和/或登记加上射频识别标签的对象的地点或邻近的地点。使用者14不需要花费注意力找出对象的地点。通过该便携式射频辨识系统10与一遥控控制器即时地无线通信,该控制器能传送指示给使用者14。举例来说,若使用者14在该场所中搜索一特定对象,该控制器能通过无线、音频或视频信号指示使用者14正处于该对象的邻近区域。
为了监控使用者14的工作活动,穿着衣服26的使用者14和/或衣服26本身可配置射频辨识标签,特别是在射频辨识标签被策略性地(strategically)设置的地点。
本发明所公开的内容是通过举例的方式,在不脱离包含在所公开内容的公平教示范围的前提下,可以通过添加、修改或消除细节而进行各种改变。因此,除了所述的权利要求书的范围必要的限制,本发明并不限于所公开的特定细节。

Claims (13)

1.一种便携式射频辨识系统,该便携式射频辨识系统包括:
一射频辨识天线阵列;
一射频辨识标签读取器;以及
一电源供应器;
该射频辨识天线阵列、该射频辨识标签读取器及该电源供应器适于供一使用者穿戴或以其他方式携带,且适于彼此电连接以使该电源供应器供电给该射频辨识标签读取器,且使该射频辨识标签读取器供电给该射频辨识天线阵列,并使该射频辨识标签读取器在该使用者通过一区域时通过该射频辨识天线阵列接收一射频辨识标签信号。
2.根据权利要求1所述的便携式射频辨识系统,其中,该射频辨识天线阵列能辐射于一邻近区域,该邻近区域位于使用者前方且由地面延伸至该使用者头部上方。
3.根据权利要求2所述的便携式射频辨识系统,其中,该射频辨识天线阵列包括二彼此分离且双馈入式的天线。
