Claims (11)
- ファイバ(101)の一部分がフェルール端面(103)を超えて前方へ延びるように、前記フェルール端面及び少なくとも1個の第1整列部材(104)を有するフェルール(102)内に3本以上の前記ファイバを配置する(a)工程と、
前記(a)工程の後、前記ファイバの前記一部分を切断し、これにより切断されたファイバ端面(106)を形成する(b)工程と、
前記(b)工程の後、工具(150)の位置決め面(152)が前記フェルールと整列するように前記工具の第2整列部材(151)を前記第1整列部材に相互係合させ、前記位置決め面が、前記切断されたファイバ端面に当接して、前記フェルールの内側の前記ファイバよりも前記フェルールの外側の前記ファイバが突出するように前記切断されたファイバ端面を位置決めする(c)工程と、
前記フェルールに対して前記ファイバを取り付ける(d)工程と
を具備することを特徴とする終端ファイバの処理方法。 - 前記切断されたファイバ端面を位置決めする工程は、前記位置決め面の後方への移動を具備し、これにより、全ての前記切断されたファイバ端面が前記位置決め面に当接し且つ前記位置決め面が前記フェルール端面から所定距離に位置するまで、前記ファイバが押し戻されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記所定距離は約1〜3.5μmであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記切断されたファイバ端面を形成する工程はレーザ切断工程であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記第1整列部材及び前記第2整列部材の一方は整列ピンであり、他方は前記整列ピンを受容する整列穴であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記第1整列部材は整列穴であり、前記第2整列部材は整列ピンであることを特徴とする請求項5記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記フェルールはMT型フェルールであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記フェルールは多ファイバフェルールであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記(c)工程において、2個の第2整列部材が2個の第1整列部材に相互係合することを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記位置決め面は非平坦であり、曲面、V形状、段付き、楕円体面、交差した突条、方形段付きピラミッド形、筒状、円錐状、細長段付き同心円柱、及び湾曲突条のうち少なくとも一つであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
- 前記フェルール端面は研磨されていないことを特徴とする請求項1記載の終端ファイバの処理方法。
