Claims (12)
- 研磨物品を形成する方法であって、
微結晶アルミナを含む研磨粒子を含む素地を供給する工程と、
前記研磨粒子と、ガラス質相を含む結合材料とを含む固定砥粒体を形成するために、マイクロ波放射により前記素地を加熱する工程と、を含み、
加熱した後、前記固定砥粒体が11%以下の密度変化を有し、
前記密度変化が、式
[(Dt−Da)/Dt]×100%
によって定義され、式中Dtは前記固定砥粒体の目標密度を表し、Daは前記固定砥粒体の実際の密度を表し、
前記固定砥粒体の目標密度は、1.90g/cm3超であり、3.00g/cm3以下である、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記マイクロ波放射が、0.3GHz以上、300GHz以下の周波数を有する、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記密度変化が6%以下である、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、微結晶アルミナを含む前記研磨粒子が、1ミクロン以下の平均粒径を有する、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、前記結合材料の総重量に対して20重量%以下の酸化ホウ素(B2O3)から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、前記結合の総重量に対して85重量%以下、48重量%以上の二酸化ケイ素(SiO2)から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、2以上、30以下である、二酸化ケイ素(SiO2)の重量パーセントの酸化ホウ素(B2O3)の重量パーセントに対する比[SiO2/B2O3]から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、2.5以上、6以下である、二酸化ケイ素(SiO2)の重量パーセントの酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)の重量パーセントに対する比[SiO2/Al2O3]から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、酸化リチウム(Li2O)と、酸化ナトリウム(Na2O)と、酸化カリウム(K2O)と、酸化セシウム(Cs2O)と、これらの組み合わせと、からなる化合物群から選択される1以上のアルカリ酸化物化合物(R2O)から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、0.8以上、4以下である、酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)の重量パーセントの結合内のアルカリ酸化物化合物(R2O)の合計の重量パーセントに対する比[Al2O3/R2O]を含む、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、前記結合材料の総重量に対して3重量%以上、15重量%以下の合計量のアルカリ酸化物化合物(R2O)から構成される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の研磨物品を形成する方法であって、前記結合材料が、MnO2と、ZrSiO2と、CoAl2O4と、Fe2O3と、Li2Oと、TiO2と、MgOと、からなる群から選択される酸化物化合物を1重量%以下含む組成物から構成される、方法。
