Description
Claims (17)
- 割送り型カッターインサート用の成形物を製作する方法であって、前記方法は、
周辺側部によって互いに連結された主要近位端部と主要遠位端部を有するインサートベースを用意するステップを有し、前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部は、前記周辺側部の接合部によって構成された少なくとも2つのコーナー部を有するよう構成されており、
放電加工によって切断可能であるPCBNグレードの材料製であり、一対の互いに反対側の主要端面相互間の第1の厚さを有する前駆体を用意するステップと、
各々が前記前駆体の体積の50%から10%の体積を有するように、前記前駆体を2個〜10個の部分構造体に切断するステップと、を有し、前記部分構造体は、
前記部分構造体の一対の互いに反対側の主要面相互間の、前記第1の厚さよりも薄い第2の厚さを有するPCBNグレードの材料製であり、前記部分構造体の主要面は前記前駆体の主要面に対応するように切断され、前記部分構造体の主要面は、前記前駆体の少なくとも1つの主要面に対して平行又は最大45゜傾斜しており、
さらに、少なくとも1つの前記部分構造体を切断して、PCBNグレードの材料製のウェーハを用意するステップを有し、前記ウェーハは、焼結カーバイド基体によって支持されておらず、最大2mmの平均厚さを有し、前記ウェーハは、前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部の前記2つのコーナー部に対応した少なくとも2つのコーナー部を有するよう構成されており、
さらに、前記ウェーハの前記コーナー部が前記主要近位端部の対応するコーナー部に隣接して配置されるように、前記ウェーハを結合材料によって前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部に結合して、前記成形物を提供するステップを有する、方法。 - 前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部は、前記ウェーハを受け入れるポケットを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部は、前記周辺側部の接合部によって構成された少なくとも3つのコーナー部を有し、前記ウェーハは、前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部の前記コーナー部に対応した少なくとも3つのコーナー部を有するよう構成されている、請求項1又は2記載の方法。
- 前記ウェーハの主要面は、前記インサートベースの前記主要近位端部の面積の少なくとも50%である面積を有する、請求項1〜3のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記インサートベースへの前記ウェーハの結合に先立って貫通穴を前記ウェーハに形成するステップを有する、請求項1〜4のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記主要近位端部と前記主要遠位端部との間に貫通穴を備えたインサートベースを用意するステップと、
前記ウェーハ及び前記インサートベースをそれぞれの前記貫通穴が同軸であるように配置するステップと、
結合材料によって前記ウェーハを前記インサートベースに結合するステップとを有する、請求項5記載の方法。 - 前記ウェーハの平均厚さは、最大で1.6mmである、請求項1〜6のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体の前記互いに反対側の主要な端面は、平面状である、請求項1〜7のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記部分構造体の前記反対側の主要面は、平面状である、請求項1〜8のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体は、全体として円筒形であり、少なくとも2cmの直径を有する、請求項1〜9のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体の平均厚さは、少なくとも0.5cmである、請求項1〜10のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体の体積は、少なくとも10立方センチメートルである、請求項1〜11のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体を前記主要端面のうちの少なくとも一方に平行に切断して少なくとも2つのディスクを提供するステップを有する、請求項1〜12のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 前記部分構造体の平均厚さは、最大で2mmである、請求項1〜13のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。
- 2つの互いに反対側の表面相互間に貫通穴を備えた焼結カーバイドインサートベースを用意するステップと、
PCBN材料から成る本体を用意して前記本体の一部分をのこ引きしてPCBNウェーハを提供するステップと、
貫通穴を前記PCBNウェーハに形成するステップと、
前記PCBNウェーハ及び基体をそれぞれの前記貫通穴が同軸であるよう配置するステップと、
ろう付け合金材料の層を前記基体の表面と前記PCBNウェーハとの間に設けるステップと、
前記PCBNウェーハを前記基体にろう付けするステップとを有する、請求項1〜14のうちいずれか一に記載の方法。 - EDM装置を用いて前記本体の前記一部分を切断するステップを有する、請求項15記載の方法。
- 前記PCBNウェーハの平均厚さは、1mm未満である、請求項15又は16記載の方法。
