Description
本発明で用いる微生物の1例は、神奈川県の土壌から分離されたアルカリゲネス・フェーカリス(Alcaligenes faecalis)に属する微生物であり、以下の菌学的性質を有する。そして、この微生物は、産業技術総合研究所 特許生物寄託センター(日本国茨城県つくば市東1丁目1番地1 中央第6)にアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスNo4(Alcaligenes faecalis No4)として2010年4月9日付けで寄託されており、その受託番号はFERM BP-11247である。
本発明においてメタン発酵系とは、メタン生成菌によって嫌気性条件下でメタンを生成する系のことをいう。したがって、活性汚泥などを利用した嫌気的反応槽における廃棄物処理、反芻動物のルーメンにおけるメタン発酵、水田などにおけるメタン発酵などは、本発明のメタン発酵系に該当する。なお、本発明において、「メタン発酵系」には、現在はメタン発酵が行われていないが、将来メタン発酵が行われる系も含まれ、例えば、本発明において、あらかじめ水田などにアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを適用し、その後のメタン生成を防止することもできる。
本発明のアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを反芻動物に投与して、反芻動物から排出されるメタンの生成を抑制することができる。したがって、本発明は、反芻動物にアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを投与することを含む、反芻動物から排出されるメタンの生成を抑制する方法である。また、別の観点からは、本発明は、反芻動物に投与するためのメタン生成抑制剤である。他の観点からは、本発明は、アルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを含んでなる反芻動物用飼料である。
本発明に用いるアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを水田、湖沼又は水産養殖池に適用して、それらから排出されるメタンの生成を抑制することができる。したがって、本発明は、水田等にアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを適用することを含む、水田等から排出されるメタンの生成を抑制する方法である。また、別の観点からは、本発明は、水田等に適用するためのメタン生成抑制剤である。さらに別の観点からは、本発明は、メタン生成抑制剤を含む肥料である。
第1槽(対照)および第2槽(試験)の2つの1L容撹拌型反応槽に、食品残渣(食品工場から出るタマネギ、ジャガイモなどの有機性産業廃棄物)のメタン発酵汚泥(37〜38℃で滞留時間を30日にして発酵させたもの)800mlを投入し、緩やかに撹拌しつつ、33℃、初期pH7の条件でメタン発酵を14日間行った。実験中は、嫌気性条件を保つために窒素ガスを反応槽上部空間にパージした。
本発明に用いるアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスが嫌気性条件下で酢酸およびアンモニアを利用して増殖することについて確認した。
Claims (8)
- 嫌気性条件下で酢酸を基質とし得るアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスを含んでなる、嫌気性条件下におけるメタン発酵を阻害するためのメタン生成抑制剤。
- アルカリゲネス・フェーカリスがアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスNo4(FERM BP-11247)である、請求項1に記載のメタン生成抑制剤。
- 反芻動物に投与するための、請求項1または2に記載のメタン生成抑制剤。
- 請求項3に記載のメタン生成抑制剤を含む、反芻動物用飼料。
- 水田、湖沼又は水産養殖池に適用するための、請求項1または2に記載のメタン生成抑制剤。
- 請求項1または2に記載のメタン生成抑制剤を含む、肥料。
- 嫌気性条件下で酢酸を基質とし得るアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスをメタン発酵系に適用することを含む、嫌気性条件下におけるメタン生成を抑制する方法。
- アルカリゲネス・フェーカリスがアルカリゲネス・フェーカリスNo4(FERM BP-11247)である、請求項7に記載のメタン生成を抑制する方法。
