Claims (7)
- スワール生成段部が設けられたピストン・リセスを有する自己着火式内燃機関であって、
シリンダと、このシリンダの内部を往復運動可能なピストンとを少なくとも一組有し、
上記ピストンは、上記シリンダとともに一つの燃焼室を形成し、且つ当該燃焼室に面した一つのピストン・リセスを有し、
上記ピストン・リセスは、上記シリンダおよび上記ピストンの円周方向に沿って変化する空気流路断面を有し、
上記ピストン・リセスの中央部の上方に配置されるとともに、複数の噴射口が形成されて、燃料を当該ピストン・リセス内に噴射し得るインジェクタを有する自己着火式内燃機関において、
インジェクタ(11)に形成された複数の噴射口が、複数の噴射口対(12,13)からなり、
上記噴射口対(12,13)が、開口断面のより大きな一つの噴射口(12)と、開口断面のより小さな一つの噴射口(13)とからなり、
開口断面のより大きな上記噴射口(12)と、開口断面のより小さな上記噴射口(13)とが交互に配置されており、
スワールの要求値が小さい噴流を出す開口断面のより大きな噴射口(12)が、ピストン・リセス(14)の空気流路断面のより大きな領域に向けられるとともに、
スワールの要求値が大きい噴流を出す開口断面のより小さな噴射口(13)が、ピストン・リセス(14)の空気流路断面のより小さな領域に向けられており、
異なる開口断面を有する各噴射口(12,13)の向けられている燃焼室凹部(14)の各領域が、ピストン・リセス(14)の外周部(16)とシリンダ(2)およびピストン(3)の縦中心軸(4)との間の距離(D1,D2)を異にする領域であること
を特徴とする自己着火式内燃機関。 - 異なる開口断面を有する各噴射口(12,13)の向けられている燃焼室凹部(14)の各領域が、ピストン・リセス(14)の深さ(T1,T2)を異にする領域であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。
- ピストン・リセス(14)が鏡面対称性を有し、その対称基準面(17,18,19,20)の数が噴射口対(12,13)の数と同数であり、
上記ピストン・リセス(14)の空気流路断面が、それぞれ上記各対称基準面(17,18,19,20)で最大または最小となり、そこから隣接する対称基準面(19,20,17,18)に至るまで減少または増大することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。 - ピストン・リセス(14)の外周部(16)が、大きな曲率半径(R1)で外向き凸状に湾曲した領域と、上記大きな曲率半径より小さな曲率半径(R2)で外向き凸状に湾曲した領域とを有し、
空気流路断面のより大きな各領域における曲率半径が、上記小さな曲率半径(R2)であり、空気流路断面のより小さな各領域における曲率半径が、上記大きな曲率半径(R1)であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。 - ピストン・リセス(14)が、全周にわたって滑らかな外周部(16)を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。
- ピストン・リセス(14)の断面形状が、
広がった胴部(21)と、
上記胴部(21)とピストン(3)の平坦な頂面(15)内に開口している上記ピストン・リセス(14)の開口部との間に位置する狭まった頸部(22)と、
を有する金魚鉢形であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。 - 一つの突起(24)が設けられ、
この突起(24)が、ピストン・リセス(14)の中央部で当該ピストン・リセス(14)の底面(23)から上向きに突出するとともに、角錐形であり、丸みを付けた複数の辺部と丸みを付けた一つの尖端とを有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の自己着火式内燃機関。
