Description

弾性材の管状部品を含んだ連結部材を用いて、遠位先端部を挿入管の遠位端に連結することであって、管状部品が、部品の長さの一部分に沿って部品の中を通過する複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みを有することと、を含む、医療用プローブを製造するための方法も提供される。
概観
本発明の実施形態は、カテーテルなどの侵襲的プローブの新しい設計を提供する。このプローブには、患者の体腔内に挿入するための可撓性挿入管が含まれる。プローブの遠位先端部は、連結部材によって挿入管の遠位端に連結されている。この連結部材には、部品の一部分に複数の絡み合った螺旋状(典型的には二重螺旋)の切り込みを有する弾性材の管状部品が含まれる。
(1) 患者の体腔内に挿入するための遠位端を有する可撓性挿入管と、
前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に配置され、前記体腔内の組織に接触するよう構成された遠位先端部と、
前記遠位先端部を前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に連結し、弾性材の管状部品を含む、連結部材であって、前記管状部品が、前記部品の長さの一部分に沿って前記部品の中を通過する複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みを有する、連結部材と、を含む、医療用プローブ。
(2) 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、拡張した終点部を含む、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(3) 前記拡張した終点部が部分的長円を含む、実施態様2に記載のプローブ。
(4) 前記複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みがn本の切り込みを含み、nは1より大きい整数であり、前記管状部品が前記部品の軸に対してn倍の回転対称性を有するように前記切り込みが構成されている、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(5) 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、前記管状部品の軸に対して360°〜720°の間の角度範囲を定める、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(6) 前記連結部材が、前記遠位先端部が前記組織に係合したときに、前記遠位先端部にかかる圧力に対応して屈曲するよう構成されており、かつ、前記螺旋状の切り込みのうち少なくとも1本の幅が、前記連結部材の初期屈曲に対する所定の角度制限をもたらすよう選択されている、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(7) 前記連結部材が、前記管状部品に対して固定接続部によって接続された管状部分を含む、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(8) 前記管状部品がステムを含み、前記固定接続部が、前記管状部分に溶接された前記ステムを含む、実施態様7に記載のプローブ。
(9) 前記管状部分及び前記管状部品が共通の円周を形成するよう配置され、前記固定接続部には、前記螺旋状の切り込みのそれぞれの終点部近くで、共通する円周のない領域における溶接点が含まれる、実施態様7に記載のプローブ。
(10) 前記管状部品内に位置センサーを含む、実施態様7に記載のプローブ。
(12) 前記位置センサーが磁場に対応して信号を生成するよう構成され、前記信号は前記遠位先端部の位置を示す、実施態様10に記載のプローブ。
(13) 前記磁場を発生するため、前記管状部分内に磁場発生器を含む、実施態様12に記載のプローブ。
(14) 前記挿入管、前記遠位先端部及び前記連結部材が、患者の血管を通って心臓内に挿入するよう構成されている、実施態様1に記載のプローブ。
(15) プローブを患者の体腔内に挿入することであって、前記プローブが、可撓性挿入管、及び前記可撓性挿入管の遠位端に配置される遠位先端部、並びに、前記遠位先端部を前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に連結し、弾性材の管状部品を含む、連結部材であって、前記管状部品が、前記部品の長さの一部分に沿って前記部品の中を通過する絡み合った複数の螺旋状の切り込みを有する、連結部材を含む、ことと、
前記遠位先端部を前記体腔内の組織に接触させることと、を含む、医学的手順を実施するための方法。
(16) 前記プローブの挿入が、前記患者の血管を通って心臓内まで前記プローブを通すことを含む、実施態様15に記載の方法。
(17) 前記遠位先端部が接触した前記組織を除去することを含む、実施態様15に記載の方法。
(18) 可撓性挿入管を提供することであって、前記可撓性挿入管が、患者の体腔内に挿入するための遠位端と、前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に配置されて前記体腔内の組織と接触するよう構成されている遠位先端部と、を有する、ことと、
弾性材の管状部品を含んだ連結部材を用いて、前記遠位先端部を前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に連結することであって、前記管状部品が、前記部品の長さの一部分に沿って前記部品の中を通過する複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みを有する、ことと、を含む、医療用プローブを製造するための方法。
(19) 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、拡張した終点部を含む、実施態様18に記載の方法。
(20) 前記拡張した終点部が部分的長円を含む、実施態様19に記載の方法。
(22) 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、前記管状部品の軸に対して360°〜720°の間の角度範囲を定める、実施態様18に記載の方法。
(23) 前記遠位先端部が前記組織に係合したときに、前記遠位先端部にかかる圧力に対応して屈曲するよう、前記連結部材を構成することと、前記連結部材の初期屈曲に対する所定の角度制限をもたらすよう選択された幅を有するよう、前記螺旋状の切り込みのうち少なくとも1本を構成することと、を含む、実施態様18に記載の方法。
(24) 前記連結部材が、前記管状部品に対して固定接続部によって接続された管状部分を含む、実施態様18に記載の方法。
Claims (21)
- 患者の体腔内に挿入するための遠位端を有する可撓性挿入管と、
前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に配置され、前記体腔内の組織に接触するよう構成された遠位先端部と、
前記遠位先端部を前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に連結し、弾性材の管状部品を含む、連結部材であって、前記管状部品が、前記部品の長さの一部分に沿って前記部品の中を通過する複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みを有する、連結部材と、を含む、医療用プローブ。 - 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、拡張した終点部を含む、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 前記拡張した終点部が部分的長円を含む、請求項2に記載のプローブ。
- 前記複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みがn本の切り込みを含み、nは1より大きい整数であり、前記管状部品が前記部品の軸に対してn倍の回転対称性を有するように前記切り込みが構成されている、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、前記管状部品の軸に対して360°〜720°の間の角度範囲を定める、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 前記連結部材が、前記遠位先端部が前記組織に係合したときに、前記遠位先端部にかかる圧力に対応して屈曲するよう構成されており、かつ、前記螺旋状の切り込みのうち少なくとも1本の幅が、前記連結部材の初期屈曲に対する所定の角度制限をもたらすよう選択されている、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 前記連結部材が、前記管状部品に対して固定接続部によって接続された管状部分を含む、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 前記管状部品がステムを含み、前記固定接続部が、前記管状部分に溶接された前記ステムを含む、請求項7に記載のプローブ。
- 前記管状部分及び前記管状部品が共通の円周を形成するよう配置され、前記固定接続部には、前記螺旋状の切り込みのそれぞれの終点部近くで、共通する円周のない領域における溶接点が含まれる、請求項7に記載のプローブ。
- 前記管状部品内に位置センサーを含む、請求項7に記載のプローブ。
- 前記位置センサーが、前記挿入管の前記遠位端に対する前記遠位先端部の位置を検知するよう構成され、前記位置は前記連結部材の変形に対応して変わる、請求項10に記載のプローブ。
- 前記位置センサーが磁場に対応して信号を生成するよう構成され、前記信号は前記遠位先端部の位置を示す、請求項10に記載のプローブ。
- 前記磁場を発生するため、前記管状部分内に磁場発生器を含む、請求項12に記載のプローブ。
- 前記挿入管、前記遠位先端部及び前記連結部材が、患者の血管を通って心臓内に挿入するよう構成されている、請求項1に記載のプローブ。
- 可撓性挿入管を提供することであって、前記可撓性挿入管が、患者の体腔内に挿入するための遠位端と、前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に配置されて前記体腔内の組織と接触するよう構成されている遠位先端部と、を有する、ことと、
弾性材の管状部品を含んだ連結部材を用いて、前記遠位先端部を前記可撓性挿入管の前記遠位端に連結することであって、前記管状部品が、前記部品の長さの一部分に沿って前記部品の中を通過する複数の絡み合った螺旋状の切り込みを有する、ことと、を含む、医療用プローブを製造するための方法。 - 前記螺旋状の切り込みのうちの少なくとも1本が、拡張した終点部を含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記拡張した終点部が部分的長円を含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の螺旋状の切り込みがn本の切り込みを含み、nは1より大きい整数であり、前記管状部品が前記部品の軸に対してn倍の回転対称性を有するように前記n本の切り込みを構成することを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
