Claims (14)
- 微結晶性アルミナ(MCA)を含む研磨粒子が結合材内に含有される結合研磨体を含む研磨物品であって、前記結合研磨体が、前記結合研磨体の総容積の少なくとも約42容積%の気孔率を有し、前記結合研磨体が、少なくとも約0.4インチ3/分/インチ(258mm3/分/mm)の材料除去率で少なくとも約60m/秒の速度で金属を含む工作物を研磨でき、前記結合材が、少なくとも45重量%の酸化ケイ素(SiO2)を含むとともに単相ガラス質材料を含む研磨物品。
- 前記結合研磨体が、1.8のカットの深さで約0.07インチ(1.78mm)以下の角保持係数を有する請求項1に記載の研磨物品。

- 前記研磨粒子が微結晶性アルミナから本質的になる、請求項1、6および7のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合研磨体が、前記結合研磨体の総容積の少なくとも約43容積%かつ約70容積%以下の気孔率を有する、請求項1、6、7および8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合研磨体が、前記結合研磨体の総容積の少なくとも約43容積%の気孔率を有する、請求項1、6、7および8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合材が、酸化リチウム(Li2O)、酸化ナトリウム(Na2O)、酸化カリウム(K2O)、および酸化セシウム(Cs2O)ならびにそれらの組み合わせからなる化合物の群から選択されるアルカリ酸化物化合物(R2O)を含む、請求項1、6、7および8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合材が、少なくとも1つのアルカリ酸化物化合物(R2O)と少なくとも1つのアルカリ土類酸化物化合物(RO)とから形成され、前記アルカリ酸化物化合物と前記アルカリ土類酸化物化合物との総含有量が約20重量%以下である、請求項1、6、7および8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合剤が、MnO2、ZrSiO2、CoAl2O4、およびMgOからなる群から選択される約1重量%以下の酸化物化合物を含む組成物から形成される、請求項1、6、7および8のいずれか一項に記載の研磨物品。
- 微結晶性アルミナ(MCA)を含む研磨粒子が、約20重量%以下の酸化ホウ素(B2O3)と少なくとも約45重量%のシリカ(SiO2)とから形成され、約3.2(重量パーセントで)以下の重量パーセントシリカ(SiO2):重量パーセントアルミナ(Al2O3)の比を有する結合材内に含有される結合研磨体を含む研磨物品であって、前記結合研磨体が、前記結合研磨体の総容積の少なくとも約42容積%の気孔率を有し、前記結合研磨体が、少なくとも約0.003インチ(0.076mm)のカットの深さで少なくとも約60m/秒の速度で金属を含むワークピースを研削でき、前記結合研磨体が、前記結合研磨体の総容積において15容積%以下の結合材を有し、前記結合材が単相ガラス質材料を含む研磨物品。
