- 第1の平らな端面(110)と、前記第1の平らな端面(110)に平行に対向する第2の平らな端面(111)と、前記2つの平らな端面に交差する孔(112)と、前記第1の平らな端面(110)に垂直な第1の平らな側面(117)と、前記第1の平らな側面(117)に対向し、前記第2の平らな端面(111)に垂直な第2の平らな側面(118)と、を備える切削インサートであって、
前記第1の平らな側面(117)及び前記第2の平らな側面(118)のそれぞれの端は切削エッジで終端し、
前記切削エッジは第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)と、第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)と、前記第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)と第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)との間の凹状の切削エッジ部(115)とを含み、
前記第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)は全体が曲面で、前記第1の平らな端面(110)と前記凹状の切削エッジ部(115)の間に延び、
前記第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)は全体が曲面で、前記第2の平らな端面(111)と前記凹状の切削エッジ部(115)の間に延び、

- 前記第1の半径(R3)と第2の半径(R1)は互いに等しく、前記第3の半径(R2)は、前記前記第1の半径(R3)及び第2の半径(R1)と異なる、請求項2に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記第1の半径(R3)、第2の半径(R1)、第3の半径(R2)は、互いに異なる請求項2に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)、第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)、凹状の切削エッジ部(115)は、切削インサートの長手方向の中心軸(121)と平行な、前記第1の平らな側面(117)及び記第2の平らな側面(118)に沿った仮想線に対して傾斜角(c)を形成する、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記傾斜角(c)は10度以下である、請求項5に記載の切削インサート。
- さらに、前記第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)、第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)、凹状の切削エッジ部(115)に沿って延びる傾斜面(116)を備える、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記傾斜面(116)は傾斜角(a)で傾斜し、前記傾斜角(a)は−15度未満である、請求項7に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記第1の凸状の切削エッジ部(113)、第2の凸状の切削エッジ部(114)に沿って延びる接線(119)は、前記第1の平らな端面(110)及び第2の平らな端面(111)に対して角度を形成する、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記角度が35度である、請求項9に記載の切削インサート。
- 前記第1の平らな端面(110)の面積は、第2の平らな端面(111)の面積と異なる、請求項1に記載の切削インサート。
