本出願は、PHOSPHOR COMPOSITIONと題された、Yi−Qun Li et al.による2011年3月8日出願の米国特許仮出願61/450,310号に対する利益を主張し、かつGREEN−EMITTING,GARNET−BASED PHOSPHORS IN GENERAL AND BACKLIGHTING APPLICATIONSと題された、Yusong Wu et al.による2011年7月12日出願の米国特許出願第13/181,226号の一部継続出願であり、前記出願は、GREEN−EMITTING,GARNET−BASED PHOSPHORS IN GENERAL AND BACKLIGHTING APPLICATIONSと題された、Yusong Wu et al.による2010年7月14日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/364,321号に対する利益を主張し、かつNANO−YAG:CE PHOSPHOR COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR METHODS OF PREPARATIONと題された、Dejie Tao et al.による2007年10月18日出願の米国特許出願第11/975,356号の一部継続出願であり、前記出願は、NANO YAG:CE PHOSPHORS AND THE METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAMEと題された、Dejie Tao et al.による2006年10月20日出願の米国特許仮出願第60/853,382号対する優先権を主張し、これらの出願は、その全容が参照により本明細書に組み込まれている。
本開示の実施形態は、ハロゲン化アルミネートに基づく黄緑色〜黄色発光蛍光体に関する。そのような蛍光体は、一般照明システム、白色LEDに基づく白色光照明システム、信号灯;表示灯など、及びディスプレイ背面照明、プラズマディスプレイパネル、LEDベースのディスプレイパネルなどのディスプレイ用途を含む多数の異なる技術領域に適用可能である。
代替的な実施形態では、黄緑色〜緑色発光アルミネート系蛍光体は、式(A1−x 3+Bx 2+)mAl5(O1−y 2−Cy 1−)n:Ce3+(式中、Aが、Y、Sc、Gd、Tb及びLuからなる群から選択され;Bが、Mg、Sr、Ca及びBaからなる群から選択され;Cが、F、Cl及びBrからなる群から選択され;0≦x≦0.5;0≦y≦0.5;2≦m≦4;並びに10≦n≦14であるが、但しmが3に等しくないことを条件とする)により記述できる。
(a)所望の量の出発物質CeO2、Y2O3、ルテチウムの硝酸塩、炭酸塩、ハロゲン化物及び/又は酸化物を含むルテチウム塩、他の希土類Sc、La、Gd及びTbの塩、及びM2+X2(式中、MがMg、Sr、Ca及びBaからなる群から選択される二価アルカリ土類金属であり、Xが、F、Cl、Br及びIからなる群から選択されるハロゲンである)を組み合わせて、出発物質の混合物を形成した工程と、
(b)工程(a)の出発物質の混合物を、ボールミル粉砕などの任意の従来の方法を用いて乾燥混合する工程であって、ボールミル粉砕を用いた典型的な混合時間が約2時間(一実施形態では、約8時間)を超える、工程と、
(c)工程(b)の混合された出発物質を、還元雰囲気中(この雰囲気の目的は、アンモニア系化合物の還元である)にて約1400℃〜約1600℃の温度で約6〜約12時間焼成する工程と、
(d)工程(c)の焼成された生成物を粉砕し、これを水で洗浄する工程と、
(e)工程(d)の洗浄された生成物を乾燥する工程であって、乾燥条件が約150℃の温度で約12時間の時間から構成されてもよい、工程と、を含む固相反応機構を含む。
Claims (13)
- セリウム付活黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体であって、該蛍光体は、ルテチウム、ガドリニウム、セリウム、少なくとも1種のアルカリ土類金属、アルミニウム、酸素、及び少なくとも1種のハロゲンを含み、前記蛍光体が380nm〜480nmの範囲の波長を有する励起放射を吸収し、550nm〜600nmの範囲のピーク発光波長を有する光を発光するように構成されている、黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体。
- 前記励起放射が、420nm〜480nmの範囲の波長を有する、請求項1に記載の黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体。
- 前記少なくとも1種のアルカリ土類金属はバリウムである、請求項1に記載のセリウム付活黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体。
- 前記少なくとも1種のアルカリ土類金属はストロンチウムである、請求項1に記載のセリウム付活黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体。
- 前記少なくとも1種のハロゲンはフッ素である、請求項1に記載のセリウム付活黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体。
- 280nmを超える波長を有する放射を提供するように構成されている放射源と、

赤色発光蛍光体又は黄色発光蛍光体の少なくとも一方と、を含む、白色LED。 - 前記赤色発光蛍光体が窒化物である、請求項6に記載の白色LED。
- 前記窒化物が式(Ca、Sr)AlSiN3:Eu2+を有する、請求項7に記載の白色LED。
- 前記黄色発光蛍光体がシリケートである、請求項6に記載の白色LED。
- 前記シリケートが式(Sr、Ba)2SiO4:Eu2+を有する、請求項9に記載の白色LED。
- 前記セリウム付活黄緑色〜黄色発光ルテチウムアルミネート蛍光体は、式(Lu1−x−yGdxCey)3BzAl5O12C2zを有し、ここでBは前記少なくとも1種のアルカリ土類金属、Cは前記少なくとも1種のハロゲンであり、0≦x≦0.5、0.001≦y≦0.2、並びに0.001≦z≦0.5である、請求項6に記載の白色LED。
- 0.07≦x≦0.33であり、BはBa、CはFである、請求項11に記載の白色LED。
- 0.03≦x≦0.13であり、BはSr、CはFである、請求項11に記載の白色LED。
