Description
「ポリマー」は1種以上のモノマーの重合生成物を意味し、ホモ−、コ−、ター−、テトラ−ポリマー等を包含する;
「マー」または「マー単位」は、単一反応物分子から誘導されたポリマーの一部分(例えば、エチレンマーは一般式−CH2CH2−を有する)を意味する;
「コポリマー」は、2種の反応物から誘導されるマー単位を有するポリマーを意味し、ランダム、ブロック、セグメント、グラフト等のコポリマーを包含する;
「インターポリマー」は、少なくとも2種の反応物(通常はモノマー)から誘導されるマー単位を有し、コポリマー、ターポリマー、テトラポリマー等を包含する;
「ポリエン」は、最長部分またはその鎖に位置する少なくとも2つの二重結合を有する分子を意味し、特には、ジエン、トリエン等を包含する;
「末端」は、ポリマー鎖の終端を意味する;
形容詞として用いた場合、「末端」は分子またはポリマー鎖の末端に位置する基または部分を意味する(例えば、末端アミノ基は、末端に位置するアミノ基ということになる);
「落下温度」は、シートに加工するために、配合物を混合器(例えば、バンバリーミキサー)から圧延機に排出したときの規定上限温度を意味する;
「保護されたアミノ基」は、水素以外の原子に結合しているが第一級または第二級アミノ基に変換可能なアミノ窒素原子を有するアミノ基を意味し、だたし、該基は、リビングポリマーのようなカルバニオンを終端処理しない(すなわち、直接反応しない);および、
「ヒステリシス」は、エラストマー配合物から製造された製品を変形するのに要するエネルギーと、該製品がその初期の無変形状態に戻る際に放出されるエネルギーとの差を意味する。
実施例1〜4
撹拌器を備えた窒素置換された反応器に、ヘキサン1.78kg、スチレン0.38kg、およびブタジエン(21.9質量%ヘキサン溶液)2.32kgを加えた。該反応器にn−ブチルリチウム(1.54Mヘキサン溶液)を3.67mL投入し、続いて2,2−ビス(2’−テトラヒドロフリル)プロパン溶液を1.05mL投入した。該反応器のジャケットを50℃まで加熱し、約30分後、バッチ温度が約56℃に達した。さらに15分後、ポリマーセメントを反応器から乾燥させたガラス容器に移した。
n−ブチルリチウム溶液3.47mLを用いた以外、上述の重合手順を繰り返し、約24分後、バッチ温度のピークが約58℃に到達した。
表1aおよび1bに示した処方を用い、補強性充填剤を含む加硫エラストマー組成物を試料1〜6から調製した。これら配合物での物理的試験の結果を下記表2に示す。これらの行は2つのデータを含むため、上行は表1aからの処方に関し、下行は表1bからの処方に関する。
実施例1〜6に関して述べた重合手順を、多くの部分で繰り返した。コントロールの非官能化ポリマーを、実施例1〜6に関して述べたように処理した(試料7)。
実施例1〜6に関して述べた重合手順を、多くの部分で繰り返した。しかしながら、形成されたリビングポリマー(カルバニオン)の大部分が1つではなく2つの生きたサイトを有するように、sec−ブチルリチウムと1,3−ジイソプロペニルベンゼンとを反応させることにより作製した二官能性開始剤を用いた。
Claims (9)
- a)カルバニオンポリマー鎖を含有する混合物を形成する工程、
b)第一官能化ポリマーを形成するために、前記カルバニオンポリマー鎖の一部を第一化合物と反応させる工程、
c)第二化合物を前記混合物に導入し、そして、第二官能化ポリマーを形成するために、前記第一官能性ポリマーの存在下で、他の前記カルバニオンポリマー鎖の一部を前記第二化合物と反応させる工程、および
d)前記第一官能化ポリマーと、第二官能化ポリマーとに、2種以上の微粒子充填剤を加える工程
を含み、
前記第一官能化ポリマーが1種の微粒子充填剤と選択的に相互作用し、前記第二官能化ポリマーが他種の微粒子充填剤と選択的に相互作用し、
前記第一化合物が、(a)保護されたアミノ基を有し、かつ前記第一官能化ポリマーが少なくとも1つの窒素原子を含む少なくとも1つの官能基を有し、該少なくとも1つの官能基が前記保護されたアミノ基から誘導される、化合物、及び、(b)少なくとも1つのC=N部分を含む化合物、からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの化合物である
ことを特徴とする、2種以上の微粒子充填剤を含む充填組成物の製造方法。 - 前記第一化合物が、(a)保護されたアミノ基を有し、かつ前記第一官能化ポリマーが少なくとも1つの窒素原子を含む少なくとも1つの官能基を有し、該少なくとも1つの官能基が前記保護されたアミノ基から誘導される化合物であり、
さらに、前記第一化合物が、ハロゲン原子を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第一化合物が、(a)保護されたアミノ基を有し、かつ前記第一官能化ポリマーが少なくとも1つの窒素原子を含む少なくとも1つの官能基を有し、該少なくとも1つの官能基が前記保護されたアミノ基から誘導される化合物であり、
さらに、前記第一化合物が、少なくとも1つの−NR'−C(Z)−部分[ここで、ZはSまたはOであって、R'はアルキルまたはアリール基である]を含む複素環式化合物である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第二化合物が、テトラアルキルオルトシリケートまたはアルキルアルコキシシランであり、前記第二官能化ポリマーが、アルコキシシラン部分を含む少なくとも1つの官能基を有し、該少なくとも1つの官能基が、前記テトラアルキルオルトシリケートまたはアルキルアリコキシシランから誘導されることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの窒素原子を含む少なくとも1つの官能基の官能基数が、少なくとも1つの窒素原子を含む官能基の官能基数とアルコキシシラン部分を含む官能基の官能基数との合計の25〜35%を構成することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記組成物が溶媒を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- さらに、実質的に前記溶媒の全てを前記組成物から除去する工程と、該組成物を、少なくとも1種の加硫促進剤および酸化防止剤を含む材料と混合する工程とを含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- さらに、加硫剤を添加する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- さらに、加硫物を形成するために、加硫する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
