Description
Claims (20)
- ホストとユーザに関連する電子装置との間でコンテンツを同期するためにミリ波無線通信リンクを用いる方法であって、
前記電子装置を用いて、前記ユーザが前記電子装置を前記ホストの通信範囲に持ち込んだ場合に前記ホストとのミリ波無線通信リンクを自動的に確立する工程と、
前記ミリ波無線通信リンクが自動的に確立された場合に、前記ホストにより送信されたコンテンツを、前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じ、前記電子装置を用いて自動的に受信する工程と
を有し、
前記ホストは、コンテンツの送信が完了するまで前記電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲内にとどまると判定された場合に当該コンテンツをデータサイズの小さいものから順に送信し、コンテンツの送信が完了する前に前記電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲外に移動すると判定された場合に当該コンテンツを送信しないことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、
ユーザのコンテンツ嗜好に基づいて前記電子装置においてコンテンツ要求を自動的に形成する工程と、
前記コンテンツ要求を前記ホストへ送信する工程と
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ユーザが応答するオンスクリーンオプションを前記電子装置に提示することによって前記ユーザのコンテンツ嗜好に関する情報を取得する工程をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記電子装置を用いたユーザのメディア再生行動を監視する工程と、
前記監視されたユーザのメディア再生行動に基づいて前記ユーザのコンテンツ嗜好を生成する工程と
をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。 - 前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記ホスト内のビームステアリングアレイにより送信されたコンテンツを自動的に受信する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ミリ波通信リンクを自動的に確立する工程は、
前記ホストからビーコン信号を受信するために前記電子装置を使用する工程と、
前記電子装置を用いて、前記ホストが同期能力を有するかを判定するために前記ホストから受信したビーコン信号を評価する工程と
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記電子装置において前記受信されたコンテンツを検証する工程をさらに有し、
前記受信されたコンテンツを検証する工程は、デジタル権利管理クレデンシャルをチェックする工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを確立する際に前記電子装置を用いて前記ホストに対して認証を行う工程をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ホストは前記ユーザに関連するパーソナルコンピュータを含み、
前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記電子装置において前記パーソナルコンピュータから歌曲を受信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ホストは前記ユーザが購入を行っている店に関連する販売時点管理端末を含み、
前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記ユーザが前記販売時点管理端末において前記購入を行っている間に、前記電子装置において前記販売時点管理端末から販促コンテンツを受信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ホストはユーザのためにチケットを発行する発券機器を含み、
前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記電子装置において前記発券機器からコンテンツを受信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ホストはユーザのためにチケットを発行する発券機器を含み、
前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記チケットが前記ユーザのために発行されている間に、前記電子装置において前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じて前記発券機器からビデオを受信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ホストはユーザのために航空券を発行する発券機器を含み、
前記コンテンツを自動的に受信する工程は、前記発券機器において前記ユーザのために前記航空券が発行されている間に、前記電子装置において前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じて前記発券機器から少なくとも1つの動画を受信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ミリ波無線通信リンクは60GHz通信帯に関連し、
前記方法は、前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを確立する前に、前記電子装置が前記ホストから1メートル未満の範囲内にあることを検出する工程をさらに有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 60GHz無線通信帯で動作するミリ波無線通信リンクを通じてホストから電子装置へコンテンツを送信する方法であって、
前記ホストにおいて、複数の電子装置へ無線ビーコンを送信する工程と、
前記ホストにおいて、前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じて前記複数の電子装置のうちの所与の電子装置からコンテンツ要求を受信する工程と、
前記受信されたコンテンツ要求に応答して、前記60GHz無線通信帯の前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じて前記ホストから前記所与の電子装置へ関連するメディアファイルを自動的に送信する工程と
を有し、
前記ホストは、関連するメディアファイルの送信が完了するまで前記所与の電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲内にとどまると判定された場合に当該メディアファイルをデータサイズの小さいものから順に送信し、関連するメディアファイルの送信が完了する前に前記所与の電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲外に移動すると判定された場合に当該メディアファイルを送信しないことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを確立する前に前記ホストから10メートル未満の範囲内に前記電子装置があることを検出する工程をさらに有し、
前記無線ビーコンを送信する工程は、前記ミリ波無線通信リンクを通じて前記電子装置への自動送信について前記ホストでどのメディアファイルが利用可能であるかに関する情報を含むビーコンを送信する工程を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項15に記載の方法。 - ポータブル電子装置と無線で通信する販売時点管理端末であって、
コンテンツを格納する回路と、
ミリ波無線通信を用いて前記販売時点管理端末から前記ポータブル電子装置へ前記コンテンツを送信するために用いられるステアリング可能なアンテナアレイと
を備え、
前記販売時点管理端末は、コンテンツの送信が完了するまで前記ポータブル電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲内にとどまると判定された場合に当該コンテンツをデータサイズの小さいものから順に送信し、コンテンツの送信が完了する前に前記ポータブル電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲外に移動すると判定された場合に当該コンテンツを送信しないことを特徴とする販売時点管理端末。 - 前記回路は、前記販売時点管理端末で利用可能な前記格納されたコンテンツに関する情報を含むビーコンを、ミリ波無線通信を用いて送信するように構成され、
前記回路は、購入取引の間にミリ波無線通信を用いて前記ポータブル電子装置へ販促情報を送信するように構成される
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の販売時点管理端末。 - ホストと通信するハンドヘルド電子装置であって、
記憶・処理回路と、
前記記憶・処理回路に結合される無線通信回路と
を備え、
前記記憶・処理回路及び前記無線通信回路はミリ波無線通信リンクを通じてホストからデジタルコンテンツを受信するように構成され、
前記ホストは、デジタルコンテンツの送信が完了するまで前記ハンドヘルド電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲内にとどまると判定された場合に当該デジタルコンテンツをデータサイズの小さいものから順に送信し、デジタルコンテンツの送信が完了する前に前記ハンドヘルド電子装置が前記ホストの通信範囲外に移動すると判定された場合に当該デジタルコンテンツを送信しないことを特徴とするハンドヘルド電子装置。 - 前記記憶・処理回路は、前記ミリ波無線通信を通じて前記ホストへユーザのコンテンツ嗜好情報を送信するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項19に記載のハンドヘルド電子装置。
