Claims (8)
- 少なくとも1本の溝(22)を有する基板(20)と、前記溝に配置された光ファイバ(30)と、光源(40)とを具備する相互接続デバイス(10)であって、
前記溝は、第1及び第2の側壁(42,44)、並びに該側壁の一端に配置された第1端(54)を有し、
前記光ファイバは、円柱状本体(112)、該円柱状本体の一端に形成された端面(114)、及び該端面に形成された多面鏡(110)を有し、
前記光源は、前記光ファイバを通って射光するために前記多面鏡に光を伝送するよう構成され、
前記多面鏡は、前記光ファイバの前記端面に形成された複数の平坦区分(120)を具備し、
前記溝の前記第1端は、前記基板の表面とのなす角度が鋭角の所定角度αで形成され、
前記多面鏡の少なくとも1個の前記平坦区分は、前記光ファイバの中心軸(Z軸)とのなす角度が鋭角の前記所定角度αで形成され、
前記光ファイバの前記少なくとも1個の平坦区分は、前記溝の前記第1端に接触することを特徴とする相互接続デバイス。 - 前記光源は、前記光ファイバの一側に隣接して配置されると共に、前記光ファイバの一側を通って前記多面鏡に光を伝送するよう構成されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。
- 前記多面鏡は、該多面鏡の外面に配置された反射コーティング(116)を具備することを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。
- 前記光ファイバは、コアを取り囲むクラッド層を具備し、
前記クラッド層の少なくとも一部の前記光ファイバの前記中心軸とのなす角度は前記角度αで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。 - 前記多面鏡の少なくとも一部の前記光ファイバの前記中心軸とのなす角度は、前記角度αとは異なる鋭角の角度βで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。
- 前記多面鏡の第1部分(150)は、前記光ファイバの前記中心軸とのなす角度が鋭角の第1角度で形成され、
前記多面鏡の第2部分(152)は、前記光ファイバの前記中心軸とのなす角度が前記第1角度とは異なる鋭角の第2角度で形成され、
前記多面鏡の第3部分(154)は、前記光ファイバの前記中心軸とのなす角度が前記第1角度及び前記第2角度とは異なる鋭角の第3角度で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。 - 前記光源は面発光レーザーからなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。
- 前記相互接続デバイスは、前記光源及び前記光ファイバの少なくとも一部の間に形成された間隙(260)と、該間隙に配置された封止材料(262)とをさらに具備することを特徴とする請求項1記載の相互接続デバイス。
