Description
1.鉄分及びペプチドを含む組成物であって:
(a)前記ペプチドが、酵素加水分解される魚のタンパク由来であり;
(b)前記組成物が、ヒト又は動物による摂取に適しており;
(c)前記ペプチドが、前記組成物の50%よりも多く;
(d)前記ペプチドが、動物又はヒトによって摂取された場合に、前記鉄分の吸収を促進することを特徴とする組成物を提供する。
2.上記項目1において、前記ペプチドの分子量が、3500ダルトン以下である。
3.上記項目1又は2において、前記鉄分が、前記組成物の0.01%よりも多い。
4.上記1乃至3のいずれか1項目において、さらに、魚油を含む。
5.上記1乃至4のいずれか1項目において、前記魚がサケである。
6.上記1乃至5のいずれか1項目において、前記組成物が、飼料添加物の栄養補助食品である。
7.上記1乃至6のいずれか1項目において、前記鉄分の乾燥重量が、前記組成物の乾燥重量キログラム当たり100ミリグラムよりも高い。
8.上記1乃至7のいずれか1項目において、前記ペプチドの50%未満が、前記鉄分とキレート化される。
9.上記1乃至8のいずれか1項目において、前記ペプチドの乾燥重量が、前記組成物の乾燥重量キログラム当たり800グラムよりも多い。
10.上記1乃至9のいずれか1項目に記載の組成物を動物又はヒトが摂取するための方法。
11.動物又はヒトに、(a)酵素加水分解される魚タンパク由来のペプチドと、(b)鉄分とを、一緒に又は別々に摂取させるステップを具え、前記鉄分が栄養補助食品又は飼料添加物であり、摂取される前記ペプチドが、前記動物又はヒトにおける前記鉄分の吸収を促進し、前記鉄分が、前記ペプチドが摂取される前後の24時間未満に摂取されることを特徴とする方法。
12.上記項目10又は11において、前記動物が、哺乳類又は鳥類である。
13.上記10乃至12のいずれか1項目において、前記動物又はヒトが、鉄欠乏性貧血を患っており又は鉄欠乏性貧血を患う危険性を有する。
14.上記10乃至13のいずれか1項目において、前記動物又はヒトが、通常のタンパク食を与えられる。
15.上記10乃至14のいずれか1項目において、前記鉄分及びペプチドが、同時に摂取される。
16.上記1乃至9のいずれか1項目において、前記ペプチドが、カロリーベース又は乾燥重量ベースで前記組成物の50%よりも多い。
実施例1及び2として、20%のサケのタンパク質加水分解物(SPH)を与えた6匹のイヌ、20%のサケのタンパク質加水分解物及び4.5%の重量/重量(W/W)のサケの油(SPHO)を与えた6匹のイヌ及び6匹の対照としてのイヌから血液が採取された。全てのイヌに、第1日から第14日まで、30%の副産物としてのタンパク質、及び25%の脂質から成るコントロール食を与えた。コントロール食を与えないイヌに、第15日から第26日までのみ、SPH及びSPHOを与えた。コントロール食を与える6匹のイヌに、上述の飼料添加物が無いコントロール食を与えた。
サケ全体を切り身にして分けた後、サケの背骨及び頭部を、Green Earth Industries(GEI)によって開発された加工工程を利用してタンパク質加水分解させた。例えば、US2005/0037109を参照されたい。このような処理は、水溶性のタンパク分屑(SP)、不溶性のタンパク分屑(NSP)、石油留分(FO)及び骨片(CA)を生成する。このような分屑、留分、小片を、全体の質及びタンパク分屑の分離に特に注意して互いに分離し得る。SPが、6乃至7%の溶液として、このような処理で初めに分離され、三重効用流下膜式蒸発器で55乃至60%の懸濁液に濃縮される。このようなハチ蜜状物質を、噴霧乾燥装置を用いて更に乾燥し、淡黄色のタンパク質粉末を生成する(SP Dry)。
※トータルの鉄分を595nmでFe−ferene錯体として分光計で測定した(D. D. Hennessy らのFerene - a new spectrophotometric reagent for iron. Can. J. Chem. 62, P721 , (1984))
Claims (6)
- 動物又はヒトによって摂取された場合に鉄分の吸収を促進するための組成物であって、前記組成物が鉄分及びペプチドを含み:
(a)前記ペプチドが、酵素加水分解されるサケの背骨及び頭部由来であり;
(b)前記組成物が、ヒト又は動物による摂取に適しており;
(c)前記ペプチドが、前記組成物の重量の50%よりも多く;
(d)前記鉄分が、前記組成物の重量の0.01%よりも多いことを特徴とする組成物。 - 前記ペプチドの分子量が、3500ダルトン以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- さらに、魚油を含むことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物が、飼料添加物の栄養補助食品であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記ペプチドの50%未満が、前記鉄分とキレート化されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 鉄欠乏性貧血を有する又は鉄欠乏性貧血の危険性を有する動物又はヒトを治療する際に使用するための請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物であって、
鉄分の不足以外を原因とする貧血を治療するための組成物を含む医学的に改変された食べ物を食しない動物又はヒトを治療する際に使用するための組成物。
