Description
以下の限定されない実施例においては、以下の試験方法を用いて、様々な記録された特徴および特性を判断した。ASTMとは、米国材料試験協会のことである。ISOとは、国際標準化機構のことである。TAPPIとは、パルプ製紙業界技術協会のことである。
以下に定義する略記を実施例では用いている。
モノマー/オリゴマー組成物:
SR833S=トリシクロデカンジメタノールジアクリレート
SR9003=プロポキシル化ネオペンチルグリコールジアクリレート
HDODA=ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート
Zonyl(登録商標)TM=フッ素化テロマーBメタクリレート
SR833S、SR9003およびHDODAは、Sartomer Company)(Exton,PA)より市販されている。Zonyl(登録商標)TMフッ素化テロマーBメタクリレートは、E.I.du Pont de Nemours and Company)(Wilmington,DE)より入手可能である。上記の略記は、対応のモノマーを硬化することにより形成されたポリアクリレートコーティングについて実施例で用いられている。互いに比較すると、SR9003は、比較的親水性のSR833Sに比べて比較的疎水性である。SR9003とSR833Sの両方に比べて、Zonyl(登録商標)TMは、極めて疎水性で、比較的疎油性である。
本発明の実施例は、アルミニウムコーティングを、真空中で酸素プラズマにより処理することにより、透湿性の金属化複合体シートにおける、保護酸化アルミニウムコーティングの形成を例示するものであり、アルミニウムを、周囲条件で、空気に露出することにより形成された自然酸化アルミニウムコーティングを有する同様の透湿性の金属化複合体シートと性能を比較している。
これらの例は、アルミニウムコーティングを真空中で、酸素または他のガスとブレンドした酸素のプラズマにより処理することにより、透湿性の金属化複合体シートにおける保護合成酸化アルミニウムコーティングの形成を例示するものであり、周囲条件でアルミニウムを空気に露出することにより形成された自然酸化アルミニウムコーティングを有する同様のシートと性能を比較するものである。
この例は、撥水性コーティングを有する透湿性の金属化複合体シートと、親水性コーティングを有する同様の複合体シートの製造を示すものであり、耐食性試験における90℃および90%相対湿度の環境チャンバに露出した後の試料の耐久性を比較するものである。
次に、本発明の好ましい態様を示す。
1. 透湿性の金属化複合体シートを製造する方法であって、
多孔性の透湿性シートを真空チャンバに入れて、前記真空チャンバ内で真空を引く工程と、
透湿性シートの外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、その気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとするように、金属コーティングを、多孔性の透湿性シートの少なくとも1つの表面に付着する工程と、
前記金属コーティングの前記表面を前記真空チャンバ内で酸素含有プラズマにより酸化して、合成金属酸化物コーティングを形成する工程と
を含む方法。
2. 少なくとも1つの有機コーティングを、前記合成金属酸化物コーティング上に形成する工程をさらに含む上記1に記載の方法。
3. 前記金属コーティングの前記表面を、前記プラズマに、約5ミリ秒〜約5000ミリ秒露出する上記1に記載の方法。
4. 前記プラズマ源が、前記合成金属酸化物コーティングを生成するのに十分な周波数および電力レベルの交流電圧を有する上記3記載の方法。
5. 前記有機コーティングが、ポリマー、オリゴマーまたはこれらの組み合わせから選択される上記2記載の方法。
6. 前記金属コーティングを付着する前に、前記透湿性シートに少なくとも1つの有機コーティングを形成する工程をさらに含む上記1に記載の方法。
7. 第1および第2の外側表面と、少なくとも1つの多層コーティングとを有する多孔性の透湿性シートを含む透湿性の金属化複合体シートであって、
前記多孔性の透湿性シートの前記第1の外側表面に付着した約15ナノメートル〜200ナノメートルの厚さを有する金属コーティングと、
前記金属コーティングを、酸素含有プラズマにより酸化することにより形成された厚さ約10nm未満の合成金属酸化物コーティングと、
前記金属酸化物コーティング上に付着した、厚さ約0.05μm〜約1μmの外側有機コーティングとを含み、
前記多層コーティングが、前記多孔性の透湿性シートの前記外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、その気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとする、透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
8. 輻射率が、約0.20未満である上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
9. 前記金属が、アルミニウム、錫、亜鉛、ケイ素、スカンジウム、チタン、バナジウム、クロム、マンガン、コバルト、ニッケル、イットリウム、ジルコニウム、ニオブ、モリブデン、インジウムおよびこれらの合金からなる群から選択される上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
10. 前記金属がアルミニウムであり、前記合成金属酸化物コーティングが酸化アルミニウムを含む上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
11. 前記多孔性の透湿性シートと前記金属コーティングとの間に中間有機コーティングをさらに含む上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
12. 前記有機コーティングが、ポリマー、オリゴマーおよびこれらのブレンドから選択される上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
13. 撥液性である上記12に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
14. 耐食性である上記12に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
15. 前記有機コーティングが、架橋ポリアクリレートまたはビニルを含む上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
16. 前記中間有機コーティングが、架橋ポリアクリレートまたはビニルを含む上記11に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
17. 前記多孔性の透湿性シートが、不織布、織布、マイクロポーラスフィルム、微細孔フィルム、紙およびこれらの複合体からなる群から選択される上記7に記載の透湿性の金属化複合体シート。
18. 建築バリア層であって、
不織布、織布、マイクロポーラスフィルム、微細孔フィルムおよびこれらの複合体からなる群から選択され、第1および第2の外側表面と、少なくとも1つの多層コーティングとを有する多孔性の透湿性シートを含み、前記多層コーティングが、
前記透湿性シートの前記第1の外側表面に付着した厚さ約15ナノメートル〜200ナノメートルの金属コーティングと、
酸素含有プラズマで、前記金属層を酸化することにより形成された厚さが約10nm未満の合成金属酸化物コーティングと、
前記金属層上に付着した、厚さ約0.05μm〜約1μmの外側有機コーティングと
を含み、
前記多層コーティングが、前記透湿性シートの前記外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとする、建築バリア層。
19. 前記有機コーティングが撥液性である上記18に記載の建築バリア層。
20. 前記合成金属酸化物コーティングが酸化アルミニウムを含む上記18に記載の建築バリア層。
Claims (3)
- 透湿性の金属化複合体シートを製造する方法であって、
多孔性の透湿性シートを真空チャンバに入れて、前記真空チャンバ内で真空を引く工程と、
透湿性シートにプラズマ前処理を施す工程と、
透湿性シートの外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、その気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとするように、金属コーティングを、多孔性の透湿性シートの少なくとも1つの表面に付着する工程と、
前記金属コーティングの前記表面を前記真空チャンバ内で酸素含有プラズマにより酸化して、金属コーティングをカバーする合成金属酸化物コーティングを形成する工程と
合成金属酸化物コーティングの表面に撥水性コーティングを施す工程
を含む方法。 - 第1および第2の外側表面と、少なくとも1つの多層コーティングとを有する多孔性の透湿性シートを含む透湿性の金属化複合体シートであって、
プラズマ前処理を施された多孔性の透湿性シートの前記第1の外側表面に付着した15ナノメートル〜200ナノメートルの厚さを有する金属コーティングと、
前記金属コーティングを、酸素含有プラズマにより酸化することにより形成された厚さ10nm未満の合成金属酸化物コーティングと、
前記金属酸化物コーティング上に付着した、厚さ0.05μm〜1μmの外側撥水性有機コーティングとを含み、
前記多層コーティングが、前記多孔性の透湿性シートの前記外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、その気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとする、透湿性の金属化複合体シート。 - 建築バリア層であって、
不織布、織布、マイクロポーラスフィルム、微細孔フィルムおよびこれらの複合体からなる群から選択され、第1および第2の外側表面と、少なくとも1つの多層コーティングとを有する多孔性の透湿性シートを含み、前記多層コーティングが、
プラズマ前処理を施された多孔性の透湿性シートの前記第1の外側表面に付着した厚さ15ナノメートル〜200ナノメートルの金属コーティングと、
酸素含有プラズマで、前記金属層を酸化することにより形成された厚さが10nm未満の合成金属酸化物コーティングと、
前記金属酸化物コーティング上に付着した、厚さ0.05μm〜1μmの外側撥水性有機コーティングとを含み、
前記多層コーティングが、前記透湿性シートの前記外側表面を実質的にカバーするが、気孔を実質的にカバーしないままとする、建築バリア層。
