Description

上記中間層のインピーダンスが実質的に均一である、項目1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記リターンパッドの前縁から離れるにつれて上記中間層のインピーダンスが低下するように構成されている、項目1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記中間層が上記伝導性層上に印刷されている、項目1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記接触層が、
複数の接触層セクション;および
該複数の接触層セクションの各々の間の絶縁障壁、
をさらに備える、項目1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記伝導性層が上記中間層の一部分の上に配置されている、項目1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記伝導性層が、上記中間層の前縁から間隔を空けている、項目10に記載のリターンパッド。
上記中間層が、該中間層に関連する冷却デバイスを備える、項目1〜11のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
上記冷却デバイスが、能動冷却デバイスおよび受動冷却デバイスからなる群より選択される、項目12に記載のリターンパッド。
上記伝導性層上に少なくとも部分的に配置された裏打ち層をさらに備える、項目1〜13のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。

電気外科手術を実施するための方法であって、
電気外科手術用リターンパッドを提供する工程であって、該電気外科手術用リターンパッドは、伝導性層、患者の皮膚と係合するように構成された接触層、および該伝導性層と該接触層との間に配置された中間層を備え、該中間層は、エネルギーを分布させるように適合されている、工程;
該電気外科手術用リターンパッドを患者の皮膚と接触させて配置する工程;
電気外科発電機によって電気外科エネルギーを発生させる工程;ならびに
該電気外科エネルギーを、能動電極を通して該患者に供給する工程、
を包含する、方法。
前記中間層が、誘電体層、炭素層および揮発性層からなる群より選択される、項目16に記載の電気外科手術を実施するための方法。
前記中間層が、該中間層に関連する冷却デバイスを備え、そして前記方法が、該冷却デバイスを作動させてリターン電極を冷却する工程をさらに包含する、項目16に記載の電気外科手術を実施するための方法。
本開示は、電気外科手術用リターンパッドに関する。このリターンパッドは、電気外科手術手順を実施する際に使用するためのものであり、伝導性層、患者の皮膚に係合するように構成された接触層、およびこの伝導性層と接着層との間に配置される中間層を備える。この中間層は、エネルギーを分布させるように適合される。
本開示の電気外科手術用リターン電極(リターンパッド)およびその使用方法の実施形態が、添付の図面を参照しながら以下に記載される。図面において、類似の参照番号は、類似の要素または同じ要素を識別する。以下の説明において、周知の機能または構築は、本開示を不必要な細部において不明瞭にすることを回避するために、詳細には記載されない。さらに、「上」、「下」、「前」、「後ろ」などの用語は、図の方向または構成要素の方向をいい、単に、説明の好都合のために使用される。
最初に図1Aを参照すると、単極電気外科手術システム100の概略図が示されている。電気外科手術システム100は、一般に、リターンパッド200、電気外科発電機110、外科手術用器具116(例えば、能動電極)およびリターン電極モニタ(REM)112を備える。図1Aおよび以下の図において、リターンパッド200は、患者の組織「T」と接触するように図示される。一般に、電気外科エネルギーは、発電機110によって、供給ケーブル114を通して能動電極116に供給され、組織の処置(例えば、切断、凝固、ブレンドなど)を行う。リターンパッド200は、能動電極116によって患者の組織「T」に送達されたエネルギーのための、リターン経路として働く。エネルギーは、リターンケーブル118を通って電気外科発電機110に戻る。
図6Aを参照すると、冷却されるリターンパッド600aが図示され、この冷却されるリターンパッドは、接触層615、伝導性層610、冷却層635および裏打ち層640を備える。リターンケーブル618は、伝導性層610に接続され、この伝導性層は、適切な金属箔、誘電性材料、または誘電性材料と金属材料との組み合わせから形成される。冷却層635および伝導性層610は、熱連絡するように構成され、その結果、エネルギー(例えば、熱)が、分布および/または消散される。エネルギーの分布および/または消散(本明細書中で分布と称される)は、患者の皮膚および/またはリターンパッド600aの層の間でのエネルギーの移動、リターンパッドから周囲の領域642へのエネルギーの移動、ならびに/あるいは伝導性層610と冷却層635との間でのエネルギーの移動を包含する。冷却層635は、非導電性材料から形成され得、そして/または伝導性層610から絶縁され得る。
図10A〜図10Cは、加熱されるリターンパッド1000、1010を有する、本開示に他の実施形態を図示する。加熱されるリターンパッド1000、1010は、これらのリターンパッドを患者に適用する前または適用した後のいずれかに、これらのリターンパッドが加熱されるような様式で構成される。
Claims (13)
- 電気外科手術システムと共に使用するためのリターンパッドであって、該リターンパッドは、
伝導性層と、
患者の皮膚に係合するように構成された接触層と、
該伝導性層と該接触層との間に配置された中間層であって、エネルギーを分布させるように適合されている中間層と
を備え、
該伝導性層が、該中間層の一部分の上に配置されており、
該伝導性層が、該中間層の前縁から間隔を空けて配置されており、該伝導性層が、該中間層の該前縁から離れている縁に近接して配置されている、リターンパッド。 - 前記中間層が、誘電体層および炭素層のうちの少なくとも1つであり、前記リターンパッドが、揮発性層である冷却層をさらに備える、請求項1に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記中間層が前記伝導性層上にシルクスクリーン印刷されている、請求項1または2に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記中間層および前記伝導性層が、伝導性接着剤によって接合されており、該伝導性接着剤がヒドロゲルである、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記中間層が誘電性材料および伝導性接着剤を含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記中間層のインピーダンスが実質的に均一である、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記リターンパッドの前縁から離れるにつれて前記中間層のインピーダンスが低下するように構成されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記中間層が前記伝導性層上に印刷されている、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のリターンパッド。
- 前記接触層が、
