Description

本発明は、安価に製造できる耐湿性に優れた蛍光体粒子粉末及び該蛍光体粒子粉末を用いたLED素子又はEL素子を提供する。   The present invention provides a phosphor particle powder excellent in moisture resistance that can be manufactured at low cost, and an LED element or an EL element using the phosphor particle powder.

Conventionally, as a white LED light source, a phosphor emitting yellow light in a 460 nm LED, for example, YAG: Eu or the like is mixed with a silicone resin and arranged on the top of the chip, and excited by the color of the blue LED and the emission of 460 nm. A white LED obtained by mixing light emission of a yellow phosphor is used. However, this method has sufficient color reproducibility in the field of liquid crystal backlights that require light emission corresponding to the R, G, and B color filters, and in the illumination field that includes a red component called light bulb color. There was a problem that it could not be obtained.

このような背景から、青色LEDと緑色蛍光体及び赤色蛍光体を組み合わせて3波長にした白色LEDの開発が期待されている。   From such a background, development of a white LED having three wavelengths by combining a blue LED, a green phosphor, and a red phosphor is expected.

緑色蛍光体及び赤色蛍光体としては、緑色蛍光体SrCa1−xGa:Eu、赤色蛍光体SrCa1−xS:Eu等の硫化物系蛍光体が知られており、発光効率が高く、明るく発光することが知られている。また、SrとCaの割合を変えることで、それぞれ発光波長を520nm〜570nm、及び620nm〜650nmにコントロールすることが可能であり、用途に応じて発光波長が選択できるので、カラーフィルター特性に合わせて設計が可能である。 As green phosphors and red phosphors, sulfide phosphors such as green phosphor Sr x Ca 1-x Ga 2 S 4 : Eu and red phosphor Sr x Ca 1-x S: Eu are known. It is known that light emission efficiency is high and light is emitted brightly. In addition, by changing the ratio of Sr and Ca, it is possible to control the emission wavelength to 520 nm to 570 nm and 620 nm to 650 nm, respectively, and the emission wavelength can be selected according to the application. Design is possible.

しかしながら、これら硫化物系蛍光体は、発光輝度が明るく、蛍光体としての性能は優れているが、湿度に対して弱く、十分な対策を打たないで用いると、高温、高湿な環境の苛酷な条件下においては分解して硫黄を放出し、反射層を兼ねた銀電極を硫化したり、水分により蛍光体が分解して発光効率が低下し、色ずれを起こしたりしてしまうという問題を有している。   However, these sulfide-based phosphors have bright emission brightness and excellent performance as phosphors, but are weak against humidity, and when used without taking sufficient measures, they are used in high-temperature and high-humidity environments. Under severe conditions, it decomposes to release sulfur, sulfidizes the silver electrode that also serves as a reflective layer, and the phosphor decomposes due to moisture, resulting in decreased luminous efficiency and color shift. have.

そこで、これら硫化物系蛍光体のような耐湿性に劣る蛍光体に対して耐湿性を付与するために、表面処理を施すことが試みられている。   Therefore, it has been attempted to perform surface treatment to impart moisture resistance to phosphors having poor moisture resistance such as sulfide-based phosphors.

これまでに、化学的気相成長法(CVD法)により蛍光体表面に酸化アルミニウムの非粒状膜をコーティングする方法(特許文献1)及びチタンテトライソプロポキシドをキャリアガス中で気化して蛍光体粒子の流動床に送入し、250〜300℃に加熱して、該蛍光体の表面に二酸化チタンの連続的被膜を形成させる方法(特許文献2)が開示されている。   Previously, a method of coating a non-particulate aluminum oxide film on the surface of a phosphor by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) (Patent Document 1) and phosphor by vaporizing titanium tetraisopropoxide in a carrier gas A method (Patent Document 2) is disclosed in which a continuous coating of titanium dioxide is formed on the surface of the phosphor by feeding into a fluidized bed of particles and heating to 250 to 300 ° C.

また、気相加水分解反応により蛍光体表面を酸化物被膜でコーティングする方法(特許文献3)が開示されている。   Also disclosed is a method (Patent Document 3) in which the phosphor surface is coated with an oxide film by a gas phase hydrolysis reaction.

Also, a method of adding a solution of ethyl silicate or titanium tetrapropoxide to a dispersion in which a phosphor is dispersed in an aqueous solution to form a protective film made of silicon oxide or titanium oxide by a sol-gel reaction (Patent Document 4). ), Phosphor particles are dispersed in pure water, zinc sulfate and alumina are added to adjust pH, and the alumina particles are adhered to the phosphor surface via zinc hydroxide (Patent Document 5) and alkali A method in which an acidic salt solution containing a metal ion selected from aluminum or the like is added to a phosphor dispersion solution in which the phosphor is dispersed in a solution, and a metal hydroxide is precipitated on the phosphor surface by a neutralization reaction (patented) Document 6) is disclosed.

また、流動化された蛍光体粒子に金属アルコキシドオリゴマーもしくは金属アルコキシドを噴霧して粒子表面に金属酸化物被膜を形成する方法(特許文献7乃至8)及び蛍光体、金属酸化物微粒子及び金属アルコキシドを有機溶媒中に分散させた後、100〜200℃の温度範囲でスプレードライヤーに供給して有機溶媒を揮散させることにより蛍光体表面を被覆する方法(特許文献9)が開示されている。   Further, a method of forming a metal oxide film on the particle surface by spraying metal alkoxide oligomer or metal alkoxide on fluidized phosphor particles (Patent Documents 7 to 8), and phosphor, metal oxide fine particles, and metal alkoxide. A method (Patent Document 9) is disclosed in which a phosphor surface is coated by dispersing in an organic solvent and then supplying the spray dryer in a temperature range of 100 to 200 ° C. to volatilize the organic solvent.

また、無機蛍光体を大気圧プラズマCVD法により、無機蛍光体粒子表面に酸化物を付着させる方法が開示されている(特許文献10)。   Also disclosed is a method of attaching an oxide to the surface of inorganic phosphor particles by atmospheric pressure plasma CVD (Patent Document 10).

蛍光特性の低下が抑制されていると共に、耐湿性に優れた硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末は、現在最も要求されているところであるが、未だ得られていない。   A sulfide-based phosphor particle powder that suppresses a decrease in fluorescence characteristics and has excellent moisture resistance is currently in the most demanded state, but has not yet been obtained.

即ち、特許文献1及び2には、化学的気相成長法(CVD法)により蛍光体表面にアルミナ被膜もしくは二酸化チタン被膜をコーティングする方法が記載されているが、この方法では300℃もしくは400℃以上の高温に蛍光体が曝されるため、処理後に得られた蛍光体の初期発光輝度が著しく低下してしまうという問題を有している。また、装置が大掛かりになるのでコストも高いものになる。   That is, Patent Documents 1 and 2 describe a method of coating the phosphor surface with an alumina film or a titanium dioxide film by a chemical vapor deposition method (CVD method). In this method, 300 ° C. or 400 ° C. Since the phosphor is exposed to the above high temperature, there is a problem that the initial emission luminance of the phosphor obtained after the processing is remarkably lowered. Moreover, since the apparatus becomes large, the cost becomes high.

特許文献3には、実質140℃以下の温度で気相加水分解反応により蛍光体表面を酸化物被膜でコーティングする方法が記載されているが、処理後の蛍光体の初期輝度は未処理のものと比べて50%程度、最も好ましいものでも82%程度であり、該処理方法では、十分に高い初期発光輝度を得ることが困難である。   Patent Document 3 describes a method of coating a phosphor surface with an oxide film by a gas phase hydrolysis reaction at a temperature substantially below 140 ° C., but the initial luminance of the phosphor after treatment is untreated. It is about 50% compared to that of the product, and most preferably about 82%. With this processing method, it is difficult to obtain a sufficiently high initial light emission luminance.

また、特許文献4乃至6には、ゾル−ゲル反応もしくは中和反応により蛍光体表面に金属酸化物もしくは金属水酸化物からなる保護膜を形成させる方法が記載されているが、反応を水溶液中で行うため、耐湿性に劣る硫化物系蛍光体はこの時点で発光輝度が著しく低下してしまうため、十分に高い蛍光特性を有する蛍光体を得ることは困難である。   Patent Documents 4 to 6 describe a method of forming a protective film made of a metal oxide or a metal hydroxide on the phosphor surface by a sol-gel reaction or a neutralization reaction. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a phosphor having sufficiently high fluorescence characteristics because the emission brightness of the sulfide-based phosphor inferior in moisture resistance is significantly reduced at this point.

また、特許文献7には、100〜200℃に加熱された蛍光体粒子の流動層に金属アルコキシドオリゴマーもしくは金属アルコキシドを噴霧して粒子表面に金属酸化物被膜を形成する方法が記載されているが、表面被覆処理前に、既に蛍光体が100〜200℃の雰囲気に曝されるため、処理後に得られた蛍光体のフォトルミネッセンスが著しく低下するという問題を有している。   Patent Document 7 describes a method of forming a metal oxide film on the particle surface by spraying a metal alkoxide oligomer or metal alkoxide on a fluidized bed of phosphor particles heated to 100 to 200 ° C. Since the phosphor is already exposed to an atmosphere of 100 to 200 ° C. before the surface coating treatment, there is a problem that the photoluminescence of the phosphor obtained after the treatment is remarkably lowered.

また、特許文献8には、流動化された蛍光体粒子に金属アルコキシドオリゴマーもしくは金属アルコキシドを噴霧して粒子表面に金属酸化物被膜を形成する方法が記載されているが、蛍光体を流動化させるキャリアガスが調湿により水分を含んでいるため、耐湿性に劣る硫化物系蛍光体はこの時点で発光輝度が著しく低下してしまうため、十分な蛍光特性を有する蛍光体を得ることは困難である。   Patent Document 8 describes a method in which a metal alkoxide oligomer or metal alkoxide is sprayed on fluidized phosphor particles to form a metal oxide film on the particle surface. However, the phosphor is fluidized. Since the carrier gas contains moisture due to humidity control, the sulfide phosphor having poor moisture resistance has a significant decrease in emission luminance at this point, so it is difficult to obtain a phosphor having sufficient fluorescence characteristics. is there.

Patent Document 9 describes a method of coating a phosphor surface by dispersing phosphor, metal oxide fine particles and metal alkoxide in an organic solvent, and then supplying the spray dryer to volatilize the organic solvent. However, since the phosphor and metal oxide fine particles are supplied to the spray dryer simultaneously with the metal alkoxide, the metal alkoxide is hydrolyzed even on the surface of the metal oxide fine particles having many surface hydroxyl groups rather than the surface of the phosphor. Since a sufficient covering effect cannot be obtained, it is difficult to obtain a phosphor having sufficient moisture resistance by this method.

また、特許文献10には、無機蛍光体をプラズマ状態の反応性ガスに曝し、無機蛍光体粒子表面に酸化物を付着させる方法が記載されているが、無機蛍光体がプラズマ状態の反応性ガスと接触することによって、少なからずダメージを受けることにより、無機蛍光体の発光輝度は未処理の無機蛍光体のそれと比べて低下する傾向にある。   Patent Document 10 describes a method in which an inorganic phosphor is exposed to a reactive gas in a plasma state and an oxide is deposited on the surface of the inorganic phosphor particles. By contact with the substrate, the light emission luminance of the inorganic phosphor tends to be lower than that of the untreated inorganic phosphor.

そこで、本発明は、蛍光特性の低下が抑制されていると共に、耐湿性に優れたLED素子用もしくはEL素子用蛍光体粒子粉末を低コストで得ることを技術的課題とする。   Therefore, the present invention has a technical problem of obtaining phosphor particle powder for an LED element or EL element that is suppressed in deterioration of fluorescence characteristics and has excellent moisture resistance at a low cost.

本発明者らは、前記課題を解決すべく鋭意研究を重ねた結果、水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶剤に硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末を分散した懸濁液中に、金属アルコキシド溶液を添加・攪拌後、100〜400℃にて減圧乾燥することにより得られた耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末は、初期発光輝度の低下が抑制されていると共に、耐湿性に優れていることを見いだし、本発明をなすに至った。   As a result of intensive studies to solve the above problems, the present inventors have found that in a suspension in which sulfide-based phosphor particle powder is dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5%, After the addition and stirring of the alkoxide solution, the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder obtained by drying under reduced pressure at 100 to 400 ° C. is suppressed in lowering the initial emission luminance and is excellent in moisture resistance. As a result, the present invention has been made.

即ち、本発明は、水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶剤に硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末を分散させた懸濁液中に、金属アルコキシド溶液を添加・攪拌後、100〜400℃にて減圧乾燥することにより得られることを特徴とする耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末である(本発明1)。   That is, in the present invention, a metal alkoxide solution is added and stirred in a suspension in which sulfide-based phosphor particle powder is dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5%. また、本発明は、反応前の懸濁液中の硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末の体積粒子径D90を20μm以下に調整したものを用いることを特徴とする本発明1の耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末である(本発明2)。 Further, the present invention uses the moisture-resistant phosphor particles according to the present invention 1 in which the volume particle diameter D 90 of the sulfide-based phosphor particles in the suspension before the reaction is adjusted to 20 μm or less. It is a powder (Invention 2).

また、本発明は、硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末の主成分が少なくともSrCa1−xGa、SrCa1−xS(x:1〜0)、ZnSのいずれかであることを特徴とする本発明1又は2の耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末である(本発明3)。 The present invention also sulfide main component of the phosphor particles is at least Sr x Ca 1-x Ga 2 S 4, Sr x Ca 1-x S (x: 1~0), is either ZnS This is the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder of the present invention 1 or 2 (Invention 3).

また、本発明は、金属アルコキシドがメチルシリケート、エチルシリケート、アルミニウムトリイソプロポキシド、テトラエトキシシラン、テトラメトキシシランから選ばれる1種以上からなることを特徴とする本発明1乃至3の耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末である(本発明4)。   In the present invention, the metal alkoxide comprises at least one selected from methyl silicate, ethyl silicate, aluminum triisopropoxide, tetraethoxysilane, and tetramethoxysilane. また、本発明は、本発明1乃至4の耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末を蛍光体層に用いたことを特徴とするLED素子または分散型EL素子である(本発明5)。   Further, the present invention is an LED element or a dispersion type EL element using the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powders of the present inventions 1 to 4 in a phosphor layer (Invention 5).

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末は、フォトルミネッセンスの低下が抑制され蛍光体粒子粉末が本来有する特性を十分に発揮できると共に、耐湿性に優れているので、LED素子用もしくはEL素子用蛍光体粒子粉末として好適である。   The moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention suppresses the decrease in photoluminescence, can fully exhibit the inherent properties of the phosphor particle powder, and has excellent moisture resistance. Suitable as body particle powder.

本発明に係るLED素子もしくはEL素子は、前記耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末を用いたことにより、経時による輝度の低下が少ないと共に、耐湿性に優れるため、高性能LED素子もしくはEL素子として好適である。   The LED element or EL element according to the present invention is suitable as a high-performance LED element or EL element because the use of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder causes little decrease in luminance over time and excellent moisture resistance. .

先ず、本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末について述べる。   First, the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention will be described.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末は、水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶剤に硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末を分散させた懸濁液中に、金属アルコキシド溶液を添加・攪拌後、100〜400℃にて減圧乾燥することにより得ることができる。   The moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention is obtained by adding and stirring a metal alkoxide solution in a suspension in which a sulfide-based phosphor particle powder is dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5%. Then, it can obtain by drying under reduced pressure at 100-400 degreeC.

The sulfide-based phosphor particles that are the particles to be treated in the present invention may be those containing a sulfur element in the composition constituting the phosphor. For example, Ca x Sr 1-x Ga 2 S 4 : Eu, Ca x Sr 1-x S: Eu (x = 1~0) and ZnS: Cu, H (H = Cl, B, F) can be used. In particular, a green phosphor Ca x Sr 1-x Ga 2 S 4: is Eu and red phosphors Ca x Sr 1-x S: Eu , by varying the proportion of Sr and Ca, respectively emission The center wavelength can be changed to the range of about 535 to 570 nm and 600 to 640 nm, and the emission wavelength can be selected according to the application, so that it can be suitably used as an LED phosphor.

Any organic solvent may be used as long as it is generally used. Specifically, alcohol solvents such as ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol or butyl alcohol, ketone solvents such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone, glycol ether solvents such as methyl cellosolve, ethyl cellosolve, propyl cellosolve or butyl cellosolve, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol , Polyethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol or tripropylene glycol, oxyethylene such as polypropylene glycol, oxypropylene addition polymer, alkylene glycol such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or 1,2,6-hexanetriol, aroma such as toluene and xylene A group-based solvent, glycerin, 2-pyrrolidone and the like can be preferably used, but more preferably ethyl alcohol, propylene. Pills alcohol, an alcohol solvent, acetone, aromatic solvents such as ketone solvents and toluene methyl ethyl ketone and butyl alcohol.

本発明に用いる有機溶剤の水分含有量は0.5%未満であり、好ましくは0.4%未満、より好ましくは0.3%未満である。水分含有量が0.5%以上の場合には、溶液中の水分で硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末の蛍光特性が低下すると共に、下記金属アルコキシドを用いて表面被覆処理を行った場合に、反応が急激に進行してしまい、均一な被覆処理が困難となる。   The water content of the organic solvent used in the present invention is less than 0.5%, preferably less than 0.4%, more preferably less than 0.3%. When the moisture content is 0.5% or more, the moisture characteristics of the sulfide-based phosphor particles are reduced by the moisture in the solution, and when the surface coating treatment is performed using the following metal alkoxide, Advances rapidly, making uniform coating difficult.

Aluminum, zirconium, titanium, and silicon can be used as the metal element constituting the metal alkoxide used in the present invention. Moreover, as a kind of alkoxide, methoxide, ethoxide, propoxide, isopropoxide, oxyisopropoxide, butoxide, etc. can be used. Further, ethyl silicate and methyl silicate obtained by partially hydrolyzing and condensing tetraethoxysilane or tetramethoxysilane can be used. In view of processing uniformity and processing effect, methyl silicate, ethyl silicate, tetraethoxysilane, tetramethoxysilane, aluminum triisopropoxide, zirconium tetraisopropoxide, titanium tetraisopropoxide, etc. are preferable, more preferably Methyl silicate, ethyl silicate, aluminum triisopropoxide, tetraethoxysilane and tetramethoxysilane.

また、上記金属アルコキシドは、より均一な処理を行うために、前述の有機溶剤に予め分散又は溶解させて用いることが好ましい。   The metal alkoxide is preferably used after being dispersed or dissolved in advance in the above-mentioned organic solvent in order to perform a more uniform treatment.

The addition amount of the metal alkoxide varies depending on the specific surface area of the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder, but is usually 1 to 40 in terms of each element equivalent of the metal alkoxide used for the treatment per 100 parts by weight of the sulfide phosphor particle powder. Part by weight is preferred, more preferably 2 to 35 parts by weight, and even more preferably 3 to 30 parts by weight. When the amount is less than 1 part by weight, a sufficient moisture resistance effect cannot be obtained. If it exceeds 40 parts by weight, the content of substances other than the sulfide-based phosphor increases so much that the photoluminescence of the sulfide-based phosphor decreases, which is not preferable.

硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末と金属アルコキシド溶液とを混合するための機器としては、ヘンシェルミキサー、スピードミキサー、ボールカッター、パワーミキサー、ハイブリッドミキサー等の高速・アジテート式混練機、転動ボールミル、振動ボールミル、遊星ミル等のボール型混練機及びコーンブレンダー等を好適に用いることができる。   Equipment for mixing sulfide-based phosphor particle powder and metal alkoxide solution includes Henschel mixers, speed mixers, ball cutters, power mixers, hybrid mixers, and other high-speed / agitate kneaders, rolling ball mills, and vibrating ball mills. A ball-type kneader such as a planetary mill, a cone blender, or the like can be preferably used.

硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末と金属アルコキシド溶液との混合・攪拌温度は特に限定されず、室温から有機溶剤の沸点以下の範囲にあればよい。   The mixing / stirring temperature of the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder and the metal alkoxide solution is not particularly limited, and may be in the range from room temperature to the boiling point of the organic solvent.

The resulting surface-coated sulfide-based phosphor particle powder reaction suspension is separated into a solid content and a solvent part by filtration, decantation, centrifugation, or the like, and then the surface-coated sulfide system obtained as a solid content. By drying the phosphor particle powder under reduced pressure in a temperature range of 100 to 400 ° C. for 1 to 24 hours, a moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder can be obtained. Further, industrially, in order to recover the organic solvent used in the treatment, the reaction suspension of the surface-coated sulfide-based phosphor particle powder can be dried under reduced pressure as it is in a temperature range of 100 to 400 ° C.

金属アルコキシドの添加は、上記添加量の範囲以内であれば、一括で添加しても、分割して添加してもよい。また、金属アルコキシドの添加から減圧乾燥までの工程を繰り返すことにより、より均一かつ少量の被覆量でより効果的な処理を行うことができる。   The metal alkoxide may be added all at once or dividedly within the range of the above addition amount. Further, by repeating the steps from addition of metal alkoxide to drying under reduced pressure, more effective treatment can be performed with a more uniform and small amount of coating.

Volume particles of thiogallate phosphor particles in suspension by pre-dispersing as a suspension in which sulfide phosphor particles are dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5% It is preferable to use one having a diameter D90 of 20 μm or less. By pre-dispersing and preliminarily aggregating the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder, it is possible to perform a more uniform surface treatment on the particle surface of the sulfide-based phosphor particles. Preferably a volume particle diameter D 90 of the sulfide phosphor particles in the suspension 15μm or less, more preferably 10μm or less.

And can be dispersed according to a conventional method using a cone blender or the like.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末の粒子径は、用途や特性に応じて選べばよく、特には限定されないが、平均粒子径は1〜30μmの範囲が好ましい。   The particle diameter of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention may be selected according to the application and characteristics and is not particularly limited, but the average particle diameter is preferably in the range of 1 to 30 μm.

The coating amount of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention by the metal alkoxide varies depending on the specific surface area of the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder that is the particle powder to be treated, but the total of each element equivalent of the metal alkoxide used in the treatment 1.0 to 30.0% by weight is preferable, more preferably 2.0 to 26.0% by weight, and still more preferably 2.9 to 23.0% by weight. When it is less than 1.0% by weight, a sufficient moisture resistance effect cannot be obtained. When it exceeds 30.0% by weight, the content of substances other than the phosphor, for example, the coating oxide is excessively increased, and the photoluminescence of the moisture-resistant phosphor is lowered, which is not preferable.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末のフォトルミネッセンスは、コーティング処理前のフォトルミネッセンスに対してできるだけ高いことが好ましく、少なくとも85%以上である。   The photoluminescence of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention is preferably as high as possible with respect to the photoluminescence before the coating treatment, and is at least 85% or more.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末の耐湿性は、後出評価方法において、60%以上であることが好ましく、より好ましくは70%以上、更により好ましくは80%以上である。   The moisture resistance of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention is preferably 60% or more, more preferably 70% or more, and even more preferably 80% or more, in the later evaluation method.

次に、本発明に係るLED素子について述べる。   Next, the LED element according to the present invention will be described.

本発明に係るLED素子は、460nmのLED励起光で発光する緑色蛍光体と赤色蛍光体及び樹脂からなり、該蛍光体の混合物をデイスペンサーなどで青色LEDがボンデイングされているパッケージに注入し硬化させることによって得ることができる。   The LED device according to the present invention is composed of a green phosphor, a red phosphor and a resin that emits light with 460 nm LED excitation light, and the mixture of the phosphor is injected into a package in which a blue LED is bonded with a dispenser or the like and cured. Can be obtained.

本発明に係るLED素子の耐湿性は、後出評価方法において、70%以上であることが好ましく、より好ましくは75%以上、更により好ましくは80%以上である。   The moisture resistance of the LED element according to the present invention is preferably 70% or more, more preferably 75% or more, and still more preferably 80% or more in the later evaluation method.

<作用>
本発明における最も重要な点は、水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶剤に硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末を分散させた懸濁液中に、金属アルコキシド溶液を添加・攪拌後、該反応懸濁液を固形物と溶剤部分とに分離し、該固形物を100〜400℃にて減圧乾燥することにより得られた耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末は、フォトルミネッセンスの低下が抑制されていると共に、耐湿性に優れているという事実である。
<Action>
The most important point in the present invention is that the metal alkoxide solution is added and stirred in a suspension in which the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder is dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5%, and then the The moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder obtained by separating the reaction suspension into a solid and a solvent portion and drying the solid under reduced pressure at 100 to 400 ° C. has a suppressed decrease in photoluminescence. And it is the fact that it is excellent in moisture resistance.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末のフォトルミネッセンスの低下が抑制されている理由として、硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末の粒子表面に付着もしくは被覆させる化合物を水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶媒中でゆっくりと生成させることにより、非常に緻密な化合物被膜を形成できたことによるものと、本発明者は考えている。   The reason why the decrease in photoluminescence of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention is suppressed is that the compound that adheres to or coats the particle surface of the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder has a water content of less than 0.5%. The present inventor believes that this is due to the fact that a very dense compound film can be formed by slowly producing it in a certain organic solvent.

以下、本発明における実施例を示し、本発明を具体的に説明する。   Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to examples.

各粒子粉末の平均粒子径は、いずれも電子顕微鏡写真に示される粒子350個の粒子径をそれぞれ測定し、その平均値で示した。   The average particle diameter of each particle powder was measured by measuring the particle diameter of 350 particles shown in the electron micrograph, and the average value was shown.

水分含有量が0.5%未満である有機溶剤に硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末を分散させた懸濁液中の硫化物系蛍光体粒子粉末の分散粒子径D90は、動的光散乱法「濃厚系粒子径アナライザー FPAR−1000」(大塚電子株式会社製)を用いて測定した。 The dispersed particle diameter D 90 of the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder in the suspension in which the sulfide-based phosphor particle powder is dispersed in an organic solvent having a water content of less than 0.5% is determined by a dynamic light scattering method. It was measured using “Dense Particle Size Analyzer FPAR-1000” (manufactured by Otsuka Electronics Co., Ltd.).

硫化物系蛍光体の粒子表面に付着もしくは被覆されている耐湿性被膜を構成する金属元素の含有量は、「蛍光X線分析装置3063M型」(理学電機工業株式会社製)を使用し、JIS K0119の「けい光X線分析通則」に従って測定した。   The content of the metal element constituting the moisture-resistant coating adhered to or coated on the particle surface of the sulfide-based phosphor is determined by using “fluorescence X-ray analyzer 3063M type” (manufactured by Rigaku Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd.). The measurement was carried out in accordance with K0119 "General X-ray fluorescence analysis rules".

耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末の金属アルコキシドによるコーティング前のフォトルミネッセンス強度(以下、「PL強度」という。)に対するコーティング後のPL強度は、上述で測定したPL強度をもとに、下記数1にそれぞれの測定値を挿入して求めた。なお、本発明におけるフォトルミネッセンスは、460nmで励起したときのPL強度を測定することにより求めた。また、ZnSの場合は、励起波長365nmで測定を行った。   The PL intensity after coating with respect to the photoluminescence intensity before coating with the metal alkoxide of the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder (hereinafter referred to as “PL intensity”) is expressed by the following formula 1 based on the PL intensity measured above. The measured value of was inserted. In addition, the photoluminescence in this invention was calculated | required by measuring PL intensity when excited by 460 nm. In the case of ZnS, the measurement was performed at an excitation wavelength of 365 nm.

<数1>
コーティング後のPL強度/コーティング前のPL強度(%)=コーティング後のフォトルミネッセンス強度/コーティング前のフォトルミネッセンス強度×100
<Equation 1>
PL intensity after coating / PL intensity before coating (%) = photoluminescence intensity after coating / photoluminescence intensity before coating × 100

耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末の耐湿性は、被測定粒子粉末をシリコーン樹脂に対して20重量%の割合で混合し、ガラス板に約50μm厚に塗布した後、これを150℃にて9時間乾燥したものを評価サンプルとして用いた。このサンプルを60℃、相対湿度90%の環境下25時間放置し、放置前後のPL強度を測定し、下記数2にそれぞれの測定値を挿入して求めた。   The moisture resistance of the phosphor particle powder is determined by mixing the particle powder to be measured at a ratio of 20% by weight with respect to the silicone resin, coating the glass plate to a thickness of about 50 μm, and drying it at 150 ° C. for 9 hours. This was used as an evaluation sample. This sample was allowed to stand for 25 hours in an environment of 60 ° C. and 90% relative humidity, and the PL intensity before and after being left was measured.

<数2>
耐湿性(%)=(60℃、相対湿度90%にて25時間放置後のPL強度)/放置前のPL強度×100
<Equation 2>
Humidity resistance (%) = (PL strength after standing for 25 hours at 60 ° C. and 90% relative humidity) / PL strength before standing × 100

The luminous flux (lm) of each LED element is obtained by mixing a phosphor resin powder having a weight of about 5% with respect to silicone resin and a silicone resin into a slurry, and putting this phosphor slurry in a dispenser and emitting blue light at 460 nm. After injecting into the package where LED was mounted, this was dried at 150 degreeC for 9 hours, the LED element was produced, 16 mA constant current was sent through these, and the light beam was measured. In addition, as resin for producing an LED element, in order to evaluate moisture resistance, it produced using the silicone resin inferior to moisture resistance.

各LED素子の耐湿性は、前述のLED素子を60℃、相対湿度90%の環境下、25時間放置後の光束を測定し、放置前後の光束を測定し、前記数2にそれぞれの測定値を挿入して求めた。   The moisture resistance of each LED element is determined by measuring the luminous flux after leaving the LED element in the environment of 60 ° C. and relative humidity of 90% for 25 hours, measuring the luminous flux before and after being left, Inserted and asked.

次に、前記蛍光体Aを含むアセトンのスラリー中に、メチルシリケート6.6g(蛍光体100重量部に対してSi換算で9.9重量部)及びアルミニウムイソプロポキシド3.04g(蛍光体100重量部に対してAl換算で8.0重量部)を分散させたアセトン溶液500mlを加え、60分間攪拌・混合させた。   Next, in an acetone slurry containing the phosphor A, 6.6 g of methyl silicate (9.9 parts by weight in terms of Si with respect to 100 parts by weight of the phosphor) and 3.04 g of aluminum isopropoxide (phosphor 100) 500 ml of an acetone solution in which 8.0 parts by weight in terms of Al) was dispersed with respect to parts by weight was added and stirred and mixed for 60 minutes.

白色LEDの作製
実施例1−1で得られた緑色蛍光体を75%、及び実施例1−5で得られた赤色蛍光体を25%の割合でエポキシ樹脂に対して5重量%混合してスラリーとし、この蛍光体スラリーをデイスペンサーにいれ、460nmに発光する青色LEDが実装されているパッケージに注入した後、これを150℃で9時間乾燥して白色LED1を作製した。そのスペクトルを図―1に示す。
Preparation of white LED 75% of the green phosphor obtained in Example 1-1 and 5% by weight of the red phosphor obtained in Example 1-5 were mixed at a ratio of 25% with respect to the epoxy resin. This phosphor slurry was placed in a dispenser and poured into a package on which a blue LED emitting 460 nm was mounted, and then dried at 150 ° C. for 9 hours to produce a white LED 1. The spectrum is shown in Figure-1.

このように、緑色蛍光体、赤色蛍光体及び青色LEDの発光を混合することで、460nm、550nm、630nmに発光のピークを持つ光源が実現できるので、LCDのカラーフィルターと組み合わせることで色再現性の良いLCDバックライトが実現できる。   In this way, a light source having emission peaks at 460 nm, 550 nm, and 630 nm can be realized by mixing the emission of green phosphor, red phosphor and blue LED, so color reproducibility can be achieved by combining with the color filter of LCD. A good LCD backlight can be realized.

また、未処理の緑色蛍光体(蛍光体A)を75%、及び未処理の赤色蛍光体(蛍光体B)を25%の割合でエポキシ樹脂に対して5重量%混合してスラリーとし、上記と同様にして白色LED2を作製した。白色LED1と白色LED2を60℃、相対湿度90%の雰囲気中で駆動した結果を図―2に示す。   Further, 75% of the untreated green phosphor (phosphor A) and 5% by weight of the untreated red phosphor (phosphor B) at a ratio of 25% with respect to the epoxy resin were mixed to form a slurry. A white LED 2 was produced in the same manner as described above. The results of driving the white LED 1 and the white LED 2 in an atmosphere of 60 ° C. and 90% relative humidity are shown in FIG.

図―2より、明らかに金属アルコキシドを用いて表面処理を行った蛍光体を用いたLEDの方が輝度の劣化が少ないことから、本発明によるコーティングが耐水性に優れていることがわかる。   FIG. 2 clearly shows that the LED using the phosphor subjected to the surface treatment using the metal alkoxide is less deteriorated in luminance, so that the coating according to the present invention is superior in water resistance.

Production of EL element In addition, for the phosphor for EL, the phosphor of Example 1-6 and the untreated phosphor (phosphor C) were used, respectively, and cyanoethyl cellulose was used as the Al foil with a solvent such as dimethylformamide. A paste is formed, and the above-described phosphors are mixed with each other and applied to a transparent film with an ITO electrode. The film is dried at about 80 degrees for about 1 hour, and then a silver paste is applied to form a back electrode. The EL element thus obtained was turned on by applying a voltage of 100 V and 400 Hz at room temperature, and the luminance change was measured. The results are shown in Figure-3.

この結果から、処理前と処理後の初期の輝度の違いはほとんど認められないと共に、本発明の耐湿性蛍光体を用いたEL素子は輝度変化が少ないことから、本発明によるコーティングが有効であることがわかる。   From this result, there is almost no difference in luminance between before and after the treatment, and since the EL element using the moisture-resistant phosphor of the present invention has little luminance change, the coating according to the present invention is effective. I understand that.

このように、本発明によるコーティング法は耐湿性に劣る蛍光体に有効であることが明らかであり、本出願で例示した蛍光体以外にも応用できることは明らかである。   Thus, it is clear that the coating method according to the present invention is effective for a phosphor having poor moisture resistance, and it is apparent that the coating method can be applied to a phosphor other than the phosphor exemplified in the present application.

本発明に係る耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末は、フォトルミネッセンス強度の低下が抑制され、蛍光体粒子粉末が本来有する特性を十分に発揮できると共に、耐湿性に優れているので、LED用蛍光体あるいはEL素子用蛍光体粒子粉末として好適である。   The moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder according to the present invention suppresses a decrease in photoluminescence intensity, can fully exhibit the characteristics inherent in the phosphor particle powder, and is excellent in moisture resistance. Therefore, the phosphor for LED or EL It is suitable as a phosphor particle powder for an element.

本発明に係るLED素子は、前記耐湿性蛍光体粒子粉末を用いたことにより、フォトルミネッセンス強度が高いと共に、耐湿性に優れるため、高性能LED素子あるいはEL素子として好適である。   The LED element according to the present invention is suitable as a high-performance LED element or EL element because it has high photoluminescence intensity and excellent moisture resistance by using the moisture-resistant phosphor particle powder.
