Description
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a ceramic part having a ceramic base part and a conductor part, and having a cavity in which an element can be mounted on the ceramic base part. In particular, the ceramic part is characterized by the method of forming the cavity. It is related with the manufacturing method.
Conventionally, various types of small ceramic packages for housing electronic component elements such as semiconductor elements, crystal oscillators, crystal oscillators, piezoelectric oscillators, and surface acoustic wave filters have been proposed. This type of ceramic package has a cavity (non-penetrating recess) for housing an electronic component element, and a terminal for connecting to the electronic component element is provided on a part of the cavity (for example, the bottom surface). Yes. In this ceramic package, a cavity is formed by laminating a plurality of ceramic sintered layers. Specifically, for example, as in a
Here, a conventional method for manufacturing the
Specifically, first, alumina powder, an organic binder, a solvent, a plasticizer, and the like are mixed to prepare a slurry. Then, this slurry is formed into a sheet shape by a conventionally well-known method to produce a ceramic green sheet. Then, through holes or the like for via conductors are formed by performing a conventionally known punching process on the ceramic green sheet.
Next, a conductive paste mainly composed of tungsten or the like is filled into the through holes using a conventionally known paste printing apparatus. Further, a conductor paste is applied to the surface of the ceramic green sheet according to a screen printing method. Here, the conductive paste is printed and formed in a predetermined pattern using a mask having a predetermined pattern corresponding to the circuit wiring to be formed. The ceramic green sheet is then subjected to a conventionally known punching (punching) process to form a cavity through-hole.
Thereafter, a plurality of ceramic green sheets are laminated, and a predetermined load is applied in the thickness direction using a conventionally known laminating apparatus, whereby these are pressed and integrated to form a ceramic green sheet laminate.
Then, the baking process which heats this laminated body to the predetermined temperature which an alumina can sinter is performed. After this firing, the ceramic green sheets and the conductive paste are sintered, and the
By the way, in the conventional manufacturing method of the
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a ceramic component that can be reduced in size by forming a cavity corresponding to an element.
Means (Means 1) for solving the above-described problem are a method for manufacturing a ceramic part including a ceramic base portion and a conductor portion, and an unsintered ceramic molded body to be the ceramic base portion after sintering. The non-penetrated element can be mounted by removing a part of the green ceramic molded body by laser irradiation in a state where the green conductor is to be placed in contact with the green conductor after sintering. A laser processing step of forming a cavity as a recess in the green ceramic molded body, and a firing step of simultaneously sintering the green ceramic molded body and the green conductor after the laser processing step. in the laser machining step, it is formed in the region where the cavity is formed in the ceramic green sheet of a single layer article as the green ceramic molded body Wherein filling the green conductor in the through hole, by performing laser irradiation for the and said unsintered conductor and single-layer product of the ceramic green sheets were filled in the through hole in this state, the cavity There is a method for manufacturing a ceramic component, wherein a non-sintered conductor for a terminal to be a terminal is exposed on a part of an inner wall surface of the cavity .
Therefore, according to the method for manufacturing a ceramic component described in the means 1, a part of the unsintered ceramic molded body is removed by laser irradiation, and a cavity that is a non-penetrating recess in which an element can be mounted is formed. In this way, since a cavity having an appropriate thickness according to the element can be formed without depending on the thickness of the ceramic green sheet as in the prior art, the ceramic component can be made thinner. Further, in this case, since fine processing by laser irradiation is possible, a small-sized cavity (a horizontal and vertical size is, for example, 1 mm or less) can be accurately formed.
In unit 1, before Symbol laser processing step, by performing laser irradiation with respect to the single-layer product of the ceramic green sheet as the green ceramic body, forms the cavity, in this case, the prior art As described above, since the cavity can be formed without adopting the laminated structure, the cavity can be formed with high positional accuracy without misalignment during lamination.
A terminal for connecting the element may be formed on the inner wall surface of the cavity. In this case, the element can be easily connected to the terminal on the inner wall surface while the element is housed in the cavity.
A step portion may be disposed on the bottom surface of the cavity, and a terminal for connecting the element may be formed on the step portion. In this case, the element can be easily connected to the terminal on the step portion in a state where the element is accommodated in the cavity.
In unit 1, before Symbol laser machining step, the filling of the green conductor to the cavity through hole portion formed in a region to be formed in the green ceramic body, the green in this state The cavity is formed by performing laser irradiation on the sintered ceramic molded body and the unsintered conductor filled in the hole, and the unsintered terminal is to be a terminal on a part of the inner wall surface of the cavity. since the exposed conductors, the terminals on the inner wall surface of the cavity can be easily formed.
Although the kind of laser used at the said laser processing process is not specifically limited, For example, it is preferable that it is a YAG laser.
Further, in the laser processing step, it is preferable to perform laser processing while removing processing waste by the laser. In this way, it is possible to avoid the problem that processing waste accumulates in the cavity.
Examples of the ceramic component include a ceramic package for mounting an element. Specific examples of the ceramic package include a crystal resonator package, a surface acoustic wave filter package, an MPU package, a C-MOS package, a CCD package, and an LED package. Further, when the crystal resonator is housed in a cavity, it is preferable that the crystal resonator is connected to a terminal on a step portion of the cavity. In this way, by connecting a crystal resonator to the terminal on the step of the cavity, the crystal resonator can be vibrated reliably without the lower surface of the crystal resonator touching the bottom surface of the cavity. Can be obtained.
The method for placing the unsintered ceramic molded body and the unsintered conductor in contact with each other is not limited to the printing method. For example, the unsintered ceramic formed in the form of a sheet is unsintered ceramic molded. You may arrange | position by crimping | bonding to a body and you may arrange | position an unsintered conductor by apply | coating an electroconductive material on an unsintered ceramic molded object.
Preferable examples of the material forming the ceramic base portion include alumina, beryllia, aluminum nitride, boron nitride, silicon nitride, and low-temperature fired ceramic. Further, a ceramic dielectric material such as barium titanate or strontium titanate may be selected as a material for forming the ceramic substrate.
The conductive metal powder contained in the unsintered conductor needs to have a melting point higher than the firing temperature of the ceramic base portion. For example, when the ceramic substrate is made of a so-called high-temperature fired ceramic (for example, alumina), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), manganese (Mn), etc., and alloys thereof as the metal powder in the unsintered conductor Can be selected. When the ceramic substrate is made of a so-called low-temperature fired ceramic (for example, glass ceramic or the like), copper (Cu), silver (Ag), or an alloy thereof can be selected as the metal powder in the unsintered conductor.
Examples of the ceramic component include electronic components such as a ceramic capacitor in addition to the ceramic package. Further, the present invention is not limited to a flat plate-like component such as a general ceramic package, and the present invention may be embodied in a ceramic component having a more three-dimensional shape (for example, a cube shape or a spherical shape). In this case, the unsintered ceramic molded body is not limited to a sheet molded product, and a press molded product or the like can also be used.
Hereinafter, a ceramic package and a manufacturing method thereof according to embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a
As shown in FIG. 1, the ceramic package 10 (ceramic component) of the present embodiment is a device for mounting a crystal resonator 11 (element). The
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the

Next, a method for manufacturing the
First, the preparatory process which prepares an unsintered ceramic molded object is implemented. Specifically, an alumina powder as an ceramic powder, an organic binder, a solvent, a plasticizer, and the like are mixed to prepare a slurry. And this slurry is shape | molded by the conventionally well-known method (for example, a doctor blade method or a calender roll method), and the ceramic
In the drilling step, punching is performed using a punching jig (
In the subsequent conductor portion forming step, conductor portions are formed in the through
Thereafter, a laminating process is performed, and the ceramic
And in a laser processing process, the
In the subsequent grooving step, by using a conventionally known blade device, divided
Thereafter, a firing process is performed in which the ceramic
Further, electrolytic plating is performed on the terminal 23, the metallized
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.

(4) In the manufacturing method of the present embodiment, it is not necessary to form the

In the above embodiment, the
When the
If the
In the above embodiment, the
In the above embodiment, the through
In the laser processing step in the above embodiment, the YAG laser is used, but other types of lasers such as a carbon dioxide laser and an excimer laser may be used.
In the above embodiment, the
