Description
実施例において、LEDは青色放射を放出するように構成される。そして、発光物質は、(a)上記青色LED放射の少なくとも一部を吸収すると共に緑色放射を放出するように構成された緑色発光材料、及び(b) 上記青色LED放射の少なくとも一部、又は上記緑色放射の少なくとも一部、又は上記青色放射の少なくとも一部と上記緑色放射の少なくとも一部との両方を吸収すると共に、赤色放射を放出するように構成された赤色発光材料を有する。このようにして、前記所定の色の光を白色光とすることができる。なかでも、LEDのパワー、青色LEDの放出スペクトル及び発光材料の量に依存して、異なる色温度の白色光を生成することができる。
特に、当該LED(又は複数のLED)から(即ち、当該LED(又は複数のLED)の発光表面(又はダイ)から)零でない距離に、透過性支持体が配設される。
特に上記透過性支持体により有される発光材料から零でない距離に、半透明出射窓が配設される。この出射窓は、照明装置光が当該照明装置から逃れるのを可能にするように構成される。
LED(又は複数のLED)に対して、前記透過性支持体は斯かるLED(又は複数のLED)の下流側に配置される。該透過性支持体は、好ましくは、上記LEDにより発生された実質的に全ての放射が当該透過性支持体の方向に向けられるように配置される。即ち、該透過性支持体は上記LEDにより放出される光の経路内に配置される。従って、好ましい実施例では、前記発光材料及び/又は透過性支持体は実質的に全てのLED放射を受光する。一実施例において、上記発光材料とLEDとの間の距離は零でないので、斯かるLEDを支持するLED支持体、上記透過性支持体及びオプションとしてのLED空洞壁により囲まれたLED室又はLED空洞が存在し得る。上記発光材料及び/又は透過性支持体は、実質的に全てのLED放射を、斯かるLED室又はLED空洞内での内部反射の後に受光することができる。
Claims (17)
- LED放射を放出する発光ダイオード(LED)と、発光材料を有する透過性支持体とを有する照明装置であって、
前記LEDを支持するLED支持体、前記透過性支持体及びLED空洞壁によって囲まれたLED空洞を有し、
前記LED空洞壁の少なくとも一部には、反射性材料が設けられており、
前記発光材料は前記LED放射の少なくとも一部を吸収すると共に発光材料放射を放出し、前記LED及び前記発光材料は所定の色の光を発生し、
当該照明装置は前記光の少なくとも一部を透過させる半透明出射窓を更に有し、前記LEDに対し前記透過性支持体は該LEDの下流側にあり、これにより0mmより大きな発光材料/LED間距離(dll)を設け、
前記半透明出射窓は前記透過性支持体より下流側にあり、これにより0mmより大きな発光材料/出射窓間距離(dlW)を設け、
前記半透明出射窓は出射窓上流側面面積(AEW1)の上流側面を有し、前記透過性支持体は透過性支持体上流側面面積(AS1)の上流側面を有し、
前記半透明出射窓と前記透過性支持体とは表面積比AEW1/AS1≧2を有する、
照明装置。 - 前記発光材料の少なくとも一部と前記半透明出射窓との間に1.2以下の屈折率を持つ物質が配設される請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体が、PET(ポリエチレン・テレフタレート)、PE(ポリエチレン)、PP(ポリプロピレン)、PC(ポリカーボネイト)、P(M)MA(ポリ(メチル)メタクリレート)、PEN(ポリエチレン・ナフタレート)及びPDMS(ポリジメチルシロキサン)からなる群から選択された有機材料を有する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体が、ガラス、(融解)石英、セラミックス及びシリコーンからなる群から選択された無機材料を有する請求項1ないし3の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記発光材料の少なくとも一部が透過性セラミック発光材料を有し、前記透過性支持体が該透過性セラミック発光材料を有する請求項1ないし4の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記発光材料/LED間距離(dll)が調整可能である請求項1ないし5の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記発光材料/LED間距離(dll)が0.5〜50mmの範囲内、特には3〜20mmの範囲内である請求項1ないし6の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記発光材料/出射窓間距離(dlW)が0.01〜100mmの範囲内、特には1〜50mmの範囲内、更に特には10〜30mmの範囲内である請求項1ないし7の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体がコーティングを有する上流側面を有し、該コーティングが前記発光材料の少なくとも一部を有する請求項1ないし8の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記半透明出射窓及び前記透過性支持体が3〜10の範囲内の表面積比AEW1/AS1を有する請求項1ないし9の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体が有効透過性支持体上流側面直径(DS1)の上流側面を有し、比dll/DS1が0.01〜1の範囲内、特には0.05〜0.5の範囲内、更に特には0.1〜0.4の範囲内である請求項1ないし10の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体が有効透過性支持体上流側面直径(DS1)の上流側面を有し、比dlw/DS1が0.01〜1の範囲内、特には0.1〜0.5の範囲内である請求項1ないし11の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記半透明出射窓が実質的に凸状の形状を有する請求項1ないし12の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記透過性支持体が実質的に凸状の形状を有する請求項1ないし13の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 前記半透明出射窓が実質的に平らな形状を有する請求項1ないし14の何れか一項に記載の照明装置。
- 請求項1ないし15の何れか一項に記載の照明装置の光のカラー点を調整する方法であって、前記発光材料/LED間距離(dll)が調整可能であり、前記発光ダイオード(LED)の動作の間、前記発光材料/LED間距離(dll)が、前記LED及び前記発光材料により発生される光を感知するセンサにより所定のカラー点が感知されるまで調整される方法。
- 請求項1ないし15の何れか一項に記載の照明装置の光のカラー点を調整する方法であって、前記透過性支持体は前記発光材料の不均一な分布を有し、前記透過性支持体は移動可能であり、前記発光ダイオード(LED)の動作の間、前記LEDに対する前記透過性支持体の位置が、前記LED及び前記発光材料により発生される光を感知するセンサにより所定のカラー点が感知されるまで調整される方法。
