Description
画像を、Stora Enso 67 gsm(45#)用紙上に、約56℃のバルクTgを有した低温溶融Xeroxトナーで、iGen3 digital production pressを用いて印刷した。定着後、最初の一組の各々の印刷物の前表面全体を、以下に示される配合1のワックスエマルジョン0.0046g/cm2をコーティングした。コーティングは周囲条件で乾燥させた。乾燥時間を減少させるために加熱乾燥を用いることができたであろう。第二の組の印刷物は対照として、コーティングをしないままにした。
配合1:2.5重量%Acrysol ASE−60(Rohm&Haas)(アルカリ膨潤性の、架橋されたアクリル増粘剤(50%溶液));及び、97.5重量%Jonwax 26(BASF Johnson Polymer)(水中での固形分が約20−30%のポリエチレンワックスエマルジョン)
実施例1の工程を30の書類について繰り返し、各々の書類の両面を印刷しコーティングする。次に、30の書類一式を綴じ、本とする。この本を、本の温度が24時間の間60℃の温度に達する自動車の小物入れ(glove compartment)に保存する場合、トナーオフセット面積は1%未満である。

Claims (3)
- 55℃〜65℃のガラス転移温度を有する低温溶融トナーを含む画像を基材上に印刷することと、
0.5μm〜5μmの厚さを有するワックスエマルジョンであって、125℃〜135℃の融点を有する水性ポリエチレンワックスエマルジョンを含むワックスエマルジョンで前記印刷画像をコーティングすることと、
前記ワックスエマルジョンを乾燥させてワックスコーティングを形成することと、
を含む方法であり、
前記乾燥したコーティングが、少なくとも50℃までの温度で少なくとも50%までの相対湿度において前記印刷画像のトナーオフセットを実質的に防ぐ、前記方法。 - 前記コーティングが、エアー推進式ブラシで噴霧される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記コーティングが、面積当たりの湿質量0.1mg/cm2〜5mg/cm2で噴霧される、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
