Description
本発明は、外科用ステープラーに外科用ステープルラインの補強材料を供給するための装置に関する。
外科用ステープリングデバイスは外科医によって用いられるが、そのデバイスは、体の組織に結合させる目的で例えばステープル又は2つに分かれた締結部材のような1つ以上の連なった外科用締結部材を連続的に又は同時に適用して用いられる。そのようなステープリング デバイスは、一般的には一組の顎部(その一つはカートリッジ面であり、もう一つはアンビルである)又はアームのような構造物から成り、そのアームの間に、結合する体の組織が配置される。器具が作動するか、又は「点火」された場合、縦方向に動く点火バーは顎部の１つのステープル駆動部に接触し、それによって、外科用ステープルを体の組織の中に押し込み、そして対向の顎部のアンビルの中に押し込み、その対向の顎部が閉じられたステープルをクリンプする。その組織が取り除かれるべきならば、ナイフブレードが、ステープのラインの間で切断するために提供され得る。そのような器具の例示は、米国特許4,354,628号、5,014,899号及び5,040,715号で述べられ、それらの文献の教示は本明細書に引用することによって導入される。
外科用ステープリングデバイスは、例えば、肥満、結腸直腸及び胸部の手術のような体の組織を結合したり、除去しなければならない外科用手術おいて広範囲の適用を見出した。例えば、薄い気腫性肺組織のような薄い組織を手術する場合、特に空気漏れをする傾向がある組織を効果的に封印することは重要である。空気漏れを防止するか、又は減少させることは手術後の回復時間を有意に減らすことが可能である。また、筋腱膜の領域でステープルされた切開部で引裂けを抑止すること又は防止することは有意に回復時間を減らす。
このように、外科部位の封印を増強し、及び／又は組織の引裂きを小さくする、外科用ステープリングデバイスと共に用いるための構造物は望まれている。
米国特許5,503,638号、5,575,803号、5,549,628号、5,702,409号、5,810,855号及び5,908,427号は、組織ボルスター材料を備えた、外科用ステープルライン補強デバイス及び外科用ステープリング装置を開示する。米国特許5,752,965号及び米国特許 6,939,358号は、過剰な材料の除去の必要性がなく、外科用補強材料を外科用ステープラーの作動表面に適用するための装置を開示する。
本発明は、ステープラーに薄くて柔軟な外科用補強材料を迅速に、かつ、容易に適用する装置に関して、長い間切望されていたニーズを提供する。
本発明は、外科用ステープラーに薄くて柔軟な外科用補強材料を迅速に、かつ、容易に適用するための改良された装置である。本装置は、本体部の一部に取り付けられた外科用補強材料を有する本体部を含み、その本体部の一部の上に補強材料を有するその本体部のその一部がその本体部のその一部以外の残部に対して回転可能である。タッチアップパッドはその装置に取り付けられてよく、又はそうでなければ、キットの部品として提供されてもよい。装置は装置に外科用補強材料を一時的に固定するための固定部を更に含む。装置の本体部は、外科用ステープラーに対する装置本体部の配向は装置本体部の第一面及び第二面について裏返しをすることが出来るように構成されてよい。
外科用補強材料は、本体部に対して外科用補強材料の最外面で感圧接着剤を更に含んでも良い。接着剤は任意の適切な接着剤でよく、感圧接着剤に限定されることはない。
本発明は、外科用ステープラーに外科用補強材料を供給するための装置を提供する。
図1〜図６に示されるように、本発明の装置1は、外科用ステープラーの開放ステープラーアームの少なくとも一部分に、外科用補強材料(図1)を外科用ステープラーに提供するような大きさの本体部2を含む。
図1は、第一面(装置の上部に配向されるように、この図において図示される）と第二面とを有する本体部を含む装置の概要を示す。装置の本体部2は、また第一部及び第二部を有する。本体部の第一部4は本体部の第二部に対して回転可能である。本発明の明瞭性のために、後述するように、本体部の回転可能部は装置の本体部の第一部4であると考えられることを理解していただきたい。後述するように「バトレス材料」として示される外科用補強材料が、その本体部の第一部4の領域上に更に配置される。一つの実施形態として、バトレス材料3は、本体部の第二部に固定される。本体部は、ステープラーの顎部上にバトレス材料3の適用を可能とする方法で外科用ステープラーを受け止めるように適切な大きさにされる。
本体部は第一面40及び第二面50を有し、それらの面は外科用ステープラーにバトレス材料を容易に装填するために相互交換可能でよい。図1によると、本体部2の回転可能な第一部4は本体部2の残部に対して相対的に中心部分に配置されるが、回転可能部4は他の好ましい部分に配置されてもよいことは理解される。バトレス材料が装置の固定部7から容易に解放さるように、本体部の回転可能な第一部4は、穿孔領域(例えば、穿孔タブ)でバトレス材料3を破壊するように機能する。例えば、適用のために準備する指定領域で、バトレス材料3を別個独立に分離するために、少なくとも1つの方向に装置の平面部から第一回転部は曲がる。装置の回転部(本体部の第一部4)は長方形の形状部として示されるが、例えば、棒状、ループ状、ワイヤー、硬いメッシュ、薄いストリップ部材又は他の形状のような別の形状でも好ましいことは理解していただきたい。また、図1は、本体部が開放中心領域８で形成されることを示す。開放中心領域8は、本体部に対してステープラーの動きを容易にするために本体部に導入される。
バトレス材料3は、本体部2の回転可能部4の少なくとも１部の領域と接触する。本発明を利用して使用するのに適切であるバトレス材料3は、受け入れ可能な生体適合性及び機械的特性を有する任意の材料から作製されてよい。例えば、バトレス材料3は任意の適切な材料から形成されてよく、合成物又は動物由来物でもよい。合成材料は、例えば、本明細書において述べられているように薄く形成されることを可能とすることや他の生産上の利益のために好ましいが、動物由来バトレス材料もまた用いられてよい。図１に示されるように、バトレス材料3は装置の本体部の周りに巻きつけられる単一片でよく、又は複数片でもよい。
動物由来のバトレス材料(例えば、ウシ、ブタ、ウマ及び人間の産物)は、外科用ステープラーの作動表面(例えば、アンビル及びカートリッジの顎部表面)に配置することに関しての困難性を有する可能性がある。動物由来のバトレス材料は、典型的には、一貫性のある薄い形状にたどり着くことができない一方で、好ましい合成バトレス材料に関しては必要とされる強度を維持する。本発明の有利な点は、薄いバトレス材料の有効的な配置を可能としない伝統的な用途のカード部と異なり、0.5ミリメートル未満の厚みを有するバトレス材料3は、本装置を用いて外科用ステープラーの作動表面に正確に、かつ、有効に配置され得る。
さらに、動物由来のバトレス材料は、ルーチン的に、材料の外側表面に接着剤を適用して作動させるために追加工程を用いる。例えば、いくつかの生産物は水分補給技術を利用し、一方、他の生産物は、ペーストのような接着剤又はゲルタイプの接着剤を利用し、その接着剤は使用前にバトレス材料3上で適用されて平滑されることを必要とする。ペーストのような接着剤又はゲルタイプの接着剤は、装填中に外科用ステープラーの作動表面上でバトレス材料を滑らすことを可能とする。例えば感圧接着剤のような接着剤を利用する準備がある場合に、追加の適用又は作動工程を本発明は必要としない。感圧接着剤はただ単に離型紙の除去だけによって利用することができる。
本装置の意外な利点は、例えば、合成の動物由来ではない材料及び他の材料、特には厚みが0.5ミリメートルの材料のようなバトレス材料は、従来の適用手段に対する可能性以上にステープラーの作動面に更に容易に適用される。バトレス材料3は容易に接着され得るか、又は外科用ステープラーの付け根部分に戻されて配置され得る。そして、本体部をステープラーの付け根にたどり着くのに充分な薄さにすることができるので、バトレス材料3は本装置を用いてステープルラインを有効的に覆うことができる。また、この配置のしやすさはバトレス材料3をステープラーの作動表面に集積することがない状態で取り付けさせることが可能である。
例えば、適切な合成バトレス材料としては、特に限定されることはないが、生体吸収性若しくは生分解性の材料若しくはウェブ、非生体吸収性の材料若しくはウェブ、例えば米国特許5,810,855号で開示されているように延伸ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(「ePTFE」)、合成材料、又は他の適切なバトレス材料が挙げられる。合成バトレス材料を用いることの1つの利点は使用前に合成材料に水分補給をする必要がないことであり、その合成材料は均一な厚みを有する。外科用バトレス材料3は、装置の本体部に対して少なくとも最外部に接着剤を更に含んでもよい。接着剤は、例えば感圧接着剤のような接着剤を使ってもよく、又は湿潤化してよい接着剤若しくは使用前に活性してよい活性化接着剤でもよい。例えば、PETの離型フイルム又は他のコーティングされたウェブ若しくはシートのような離型紙は使用準備まで接着剤を保護するためにその接着剤上に適用されてよい。離型紙が外科用バトレス材料3上の接着剤から容易に分離してよいように、離型紙はバトレス材料3及び事前適用された接着剤を覆うために利用されてよく、このようにして、接着剤の高性能を維持して、接着剤を使用のために準備しておくことが可能となる。本装置の1つの利点は接着剤を事前に適用することができることであり、そして、実質的にバトレス材料上に均一に分散することできることであり、このようにして、バトレス材料上で従来的に用いられる不均一に分散されたゲル又はペースト状の接着剤によって必要とされるある種の潤滑性又は拡散性の必要性を除外することができる(実施例10参照)。
装置1は外科用ステープラー上で外科用バトレス材料3を適用するための大きさにする。装置は本体部の全体の中を通る同一の材料を含んでもよいし、又は2以上の異なる材料を含んでもよい。材料としては、特に限定されることはないが、例えば、プラスチック、金属、ボール紙、泡又は任意の他の適切な材料が挙げられる。
装置1は、その装置1にバトレス材料3を一時的に固定するための1つ以上の固定部7を更に含む。バトレス材料3を本体部の第一部4のおよそ少なくとも1つのセクションまで拡張させる目的でこの固定部を介して、バトレス材料3は装置に一時的に固定される。1つの実施形態として、図１に図示されているように、１つの固定部は、追加的なバトレス材料3から形成された穿孔セクションを有する、ただ単に固定されたタブである。選択的なポストは追加的な固定部手段として示される。固定部7は図3A、3B及び4に更に図示され、本体部の回転可能第一部4の近傍に互いに平行に配置される各々の本体部上に複数のポストを含む。バトレス材料3が均一に伸張されるように、ポストはバトレス材料3にテンションを提供するために設計され、集積又はしわが小さくなった状態で、ポストはステープラーアーム上で接着する更に均一な接触表面を提供する。代替的な実施態様においては、ポストは互いに非平行に配置され得ることを理解していただきたい。外科用バトレス材料3に穿孔部を適合させるために、これらのポストはサイズ化されて本体部上に配置される。固定部7の他の形態は、接着結合、摩擦干渉、超音波若しくは熱による溶接、機械的な取り付け、又は本体部にバトレス材料を固定する任意の適切な他の手段を含む。
図3A、3B、4、5A-D及び6A-6Eに示されるように、本発明の装置はタッチアップパッド5を更に含んでよい。図4はタッチアップパッド5を示し、タッチアップパッド5は、恒久的に又は取り外し可能的に相互連結された要素として装置に取り付けられる。図3Aに示されるように、本装置の実施形態が表され、その装置が装置の本体部を外科用ステープラーに可逆的に挿入させ、そしてどちらか一方の挿入された形態で実行される。装置の可逆的な実施形態は第一面40及び第二面50を有する本体部を含み、その本体部は、アンビルに接触したステープラーの面か、カートリッジに接触したステープラーの面にかかわりなくステープラーに供給される。可逆的な形態は、ステープラー中に本体部を容易に装填する能力を実施者に与える。また、図3B及び5に示されるように、選択的なタッチアップパッド5は、片面又は両面で、恒久的に非恒久的に装置の本体部に取り付けられる。タッチアップ パッドは、バトレス材料3とステープラーの作動面との間で表面接触を最大にするために用いられる。例えば、バトレス材料3の最外面の部分上の接着剤6は、外科用ステープラーの対向の作動面でバトレス材料3を接着する。バトレス材料が装置に配向された後、ステープラーの更に大きな表面の上にバトレス材料を接着させるために、タッチパッドの上でバトレス材料を更にプレスすることが好ましい場合がある。装置上の接着剤が外科用バトレス材料上に配置される感圧接着剤である場合に、このことは特に有効である。
図5A〜5Dに示されるように、タッチアップパッド5は均一又は不均一なトポグラフィでよく、さらにタッチアップパッドは１つ又は複数の片を含んでよく、それはウェッジ(例えば、図5A)、フラットパッド(例えば、図5B)、隆起したドット(例えば、図5C)などとして設計されてよい。タッチパッドはステープルラインの周辺の表面領域を増大させるような目標を定めた特定の形態を有することが好ましい場合がある。タッチアップパッドは、は、一般的には、特に限定されることはないが、例えば、コットン、ポリエステル、泡、プラスチック、金属又は任意の他の適切な材料のようなものである。ステープラーのアームに材料を適用している間に、追加された厚み又はバルクがバトレス材料に関連しないようにタッチアップパッドをバトレス材料3から離れた領域に配置させることは有利なことである。
図3、4及び6A〜6Eに示される実施形態において、装置1の本体部は、外科用バトレス材料3を備える外科用ステープラーの装填中に装置を保持する力を促進するために、フィンガーグリップ10を含むように形状化される。本体部の回転可能な第一部4の近位にある装置の端部はステープラー抑制領域23を更に含む。ステープラー抑制領域23は本体部の回転可能部4の上にバトレス材料に対する原領域又は受入領域(図示されていない)を画定する。作製された回転可能部は抑制領域23を介して形成され、その抑制領域23はステープラーの付け根と接触し、その付け根は本体部の第二部分の平面部に対して本体部の第一部分の受入領域の回転を可能とし、ステープラーにバトレス材料を固定する。
図1及び6A〜6Eに示されるように、外科用ステープラーを装置の上にクランプさせる目的でバトレス材料3は装置の本体部の上に配置される。バトレス材料3の接着剤6は、外科用ステープラーの対向の作動面でバトレス材料3を接着する。有利なこととして、装置上の接着剤は外科用バトレス材料上に配置された感圧接着剤である。使用前に、離型紙20は感圧接着剤を覆うために利用されてよく、適用のために形態を利用する際に接着性を保持する。離型紙を除去することによって、感圧接着剤を曝露させ、このようにして、実施者が外科用ステープラーの作動表面上にバトレス材料3を配置させることを可能とする。図6Aはバトレス材料3上に配置される離型紙20を有する装填された装置1を示す。図6Bは、装填された装置1を示し、装填１において離型紙はバトレス材料3から除去され、バトレス材料の上で接着剤を曝露して、バトレス材料をステープラーアームとかみ合わせる。図6Cはステープラー顎部90を示し、そして、ステープラー上にバトレス材料を接着するためにバトレス材料の上に曝露された接着剤がステープラーの作動表面と接触するように装置は配置される。図6Dは、装置1の上にクランプされたステープラー顎部90を示し、バトレス材料の上の曝露された接着剤とステープラーの作動表面との間の接触を可能とする。図6Eは第一部4とかみ合ったステープラー顎部90が穿孔領域で、バトレス材料3を破壊するように動いて装置上で固定部7からバトレス材料を解放するように、本体部の第二部分の平面部から回転する本体部の第一部分４を示す。
他の選択的な特徴としては、装填のしやすさのために本体部の色識別部、カチカチ音の測定、スリップしない部分又は他の好ましいバリエーションを含む本体部がある。また、人間工学的な特徴は、例えば、フィンガーホールド、曲面、リブ、又は更なる触感覚若しくは特には外科用手袋での握りやすさに対しての他の隆起的特徴を本装置に適用することは当該技術分野の当業者の技術範囲内ある。
上記で述べたように、本発明の装置は、様々なステープラーにバトレス材料3を適用するための唯一の方法を提供する。職人、又は実施形態を使用する予定の人のどちらかの人によって装置の本体部にバトレス材料3をプレ装填する。「プレ装填」は、バトレス材料3が本体部の第二部分に対して回転可能である本体部の少なくとも一部分に取り付けられることを意味する。離型紙はバトレス材料から取り外され、バトレス材料の露出した表面の上で接着剤を曝露する。図6に示されるように、その後、バトレス材料3が開放ステープラーアーム間で接触した状態でステープラーのアームに適用される位置になるように、装置1は開放ステープラーアーム間に挿入され、ステープラーアームと並列になる。ステープラーアームは、バトレス材料をハウジングする本体部の回転可能部上で閉じられ、バトレス材料3の穿孔タブが破壊されるように、本体部の回転可能領域は本体部の残余部分の平面部から離れるように動く。必要であるならば、ステープラーアームに接着するバトレス材料の表面領域を最大限にするためにタッチアップパッドを利用してもよい。その後、ステープラーアームは、ステープラーアームにバトレス材料3の移動を完了するために開放される。その後、装置の本体部はステープラーアームから取り除かれ、廃棄され、そしてステープラーは使用することが可能となる。

実施例1

受入領域はS1、S2及びS3カット部の３面によって画定される。受入領域の未カット部は回転可能部を画定する。回転可能部に最も近いカードの端部はステープラーの抑制領域である。抑制領域は原領域又は受入領域を画定する。作製された回転部は、ポリカーボネートカードの平面部に対してSLR受入領域を回転させることを可能とする。
実施例2
感圧接着剤(PSA)を覆うための離型紙を備える感圧接着剤(PSA)を有する1つの面から構成されるSLR材料の1つの片を、実施例1と同様な方法で生産したポリカーボネートカードの受入領域上に配置する。

SLR材料を受入領域の幅の後方に拡がる連結された穿孔タブで事前にカットする。SLR材料を受入領域上で適合するように改良し、受入領域の幅を通り越して拡がる穿孔タブで各々の面でポリカーボネートカードに取り付けることができる。SLRの穿孔タブを、第二PSAを用いて第一PSAライナの対向面でポリカーボネートカードに取り付ける。

利用準備予定のSLRカードのために、SLRをポリカーボネートカードに包装前に取り付ける。

実施例4
SLRをポリカーボネートカードに取り付けた後。PSAを覆う離型紙を剥ぎ取って取り除いた。次に、カードの抑制領域に合わせてステープラーを配置し、その後、ＳＬＲの上のポリカーボネートカードの受入領域をPSAの曝露接着剤でクリンプする。このことは、確実にステープラーをSLRに取り付ける。次に、SLRを穿孔タブから破壊するために、抑制領域の対向端部でステープラー顎部に対して垂直にカードを動かす。このことはSLRをカードから離してSLRをステープラーに完全に移動させる。
SLRをポリカーボネートカードに取り付けた後。PSAを覆う離型紙を剥ぎ取って取り除いた。次に、カードの抑制領域に合わせてステープラーを配置し、その後、ＳＬＲの上のポリカーボネートカードの受入領域をPSAの曝露接着剤でクリンプする。このことは、確実にステープラーをSLRに取り付ける。次に、SLRを穿孔タブから破壊するために、抑制領域の対向端部でステープラー顎部に対して垂直にカードを動かす。このことはSLRをカードから離してSLRをステープラーに完全に移動させる。
実施例5
30ミル(0.07cm)厚みのカード(寸法10.5cmLx3cmW)を、ポリプロピレンを射出成形することによって生産した。そして、そのカードは市販されているステープラーの顎部に外科用ステープルラインバトレス(SLR)材料を適用することを促進するように構成された。射出成形カードを、SLR受入領域、ステープラー抑制領域及び成形デザインの回転部（実施例１と同様）を導入するように設計される。さらに、そのデザインには変形可能なポストを含んだ。
30ミル(0.07cm)厚みのカード(寸法10.5cmLx3cmW)を、ポリプロピレンを射出成形することによって生産した。そして、そのカードは市販されているステープラーの顎部に外科用ステープルラインバトレス(SLR)材料を適用することを促進するように構成された。射出成形カードを、SLR受入領域、ステープラー抑制領域及び成形デザインの回転部（実施例１と同様）を導入するように設計される。さらに、そのデザインには変形可能なポストを含んだ。
後退部が受入領域の対向面の抑制領域に近接するように後退セクション(寸法2.7cmLx1.2cmW)をそのデザインには含んだ。後退セクションは受入領域でステープラー顎部の結合及び配置を補助する。
変形可能なポスト上で適合させるために、穿孔タブを備えるプレカットSLR材料(実施例2と同様)をホールで調節した。カードの受入領域にSLR材料を配置し、変形可能なポストに穿孔タブを配置した後、タブを捕らえてSLR材料をカードに固定するために変形可能なポストを熱的に変形させた。そのポストを熱的に変形させるために超音波エネルギーを利用した。
次に、穿孔タブからSLRを離すために、抑制領域の対向端部でステープラー顎部に対して垂直にカードを動かす。このことがカードからSLRを解放し、SLRをステープラーに完全に移動させる。
実施例6
実施例5と同様な寸法のカードを、ステレオリソグラフィー装置(SLA)を用いて作製した。外科用ステープラーにカードを更に良好に適合させるために、カードの近位端部よりもカードの遠位端部で更に厚い受入領域を作り出すことによってこのカードの構造物を改良した。さらに、カード及びプレカットSLR材料がステープラーの付け根内に配置されて全てのカートリッジ及びアンビルホールを覆うことを可能とさせるために、カードの後退セクションを改良した。
実施例5と同様な寸法のカードを、ステレオリソグラフィー装置(SLA)を用いて作製した。外科用ステープラーにカードを更に良好に適合させるために、カードの近位端部よりもカードの遠位端部で更に厚い受入領域を作り出すことによってこのカードの構造物を改良した。さらに、カード及びプレカットSLR材料がステープラーの付け根内に配置されて全てのカートリッジ及びアンビルホールを覆うことを可能とさせるために、カードの後退セクションを改良した。
実施例7
プレカットSLRと同様な材料から作製される、2.5インチx5インチx0.04インチ(ｌ x w x 厚み)のタッチアップパッドを含ませるために、実施例6のカードを更に改良した。

次の3つの例は比較例であることを意図し、代替的なデバイスとは対照的に本発明の利点を示す。これらの実施例は必ずしも本発明の実施形態でないが(そうであってもよいが）本発明の様々な重要な態様を強調するために役立つ。例えば、本発明の薄いプラスチックアプリケーションカードは、発泡の受入領域を含む必然的に厚いアプリケーションデバイスに対して好ましいという趣旨について比較例8は焦点を当てている。本発明の実施態様のように均一な接着剤コーティングで作製された薄い合成バトレス材料は、例えば、米国特許5,752,965号で述べられるようなアプリケーションデバイスと比較して好ましい特性を有するという趣旨について比較例9は焦点を当てている。なお、その米国特許は接着性ゲル等を適用し、そのゲルは均一な接着性を確立するために泡タイプの弾力的な平衡手段を必要とする。

比較例9
発泡の受入領域(およそ0.125インチの厚み)から成るカードを構成し、そして、プレカットSLR材料及び感圧接着剤を、クリップを介して発泡体に取り付けた。その後、実施例4と同様な方法で外科用ステープラーの上にSLRを配置した。ステープラー中にSLRを配置して、発泡のカードの厚みのため、SLR材料が時期尚早にステープラーに接触して、SLR材料は束なって、ステープルラインを完全には覆わない。

発泡パッドを0.035インチ厚みのポリプロピレンカードに取り替えることによって、Peri-Strips Dryディスペンサー(Synovis, Part # 73133-07588, St.Paul MN)を改良した。その後、供給された接着剤(Synovis, Part # 7300-101023, St. Paul MN)を、使用説明書にしたがって、連続的なビーズの状態でSLR材料に添加をした。そして、ステープラー顎部の作動表面内にアセンブリを配置した。供給された接着剤は実際上ゲルのような状態であり、材料に接着剤を均一に分配するために圧力を必要とした。その後、ステープラー(Ethicon, Proximate 75,Cincinnati OH)を閉じて、それから、ステープラー顎部の上でSLRの展開を調査するために再開した。バトレス材料の中心部でSLR材料はステープラーの作動表面に接着した。しかし、接着剤は、ステープラーにSLRのエッジを接着させるために、SLRの幅全体を横切って均一に分配されなかった。

Claims (16)
- 外科用ステープラーに外科用バトレス材料を供給するための装置であって、
該装置が、
アプリケーター本体部と、該本体部の一部分に取り付けられる該外科用バトレス材料とを含み、
該アプリケーター本体部が第一部と第二部とを有し、該第一部が該第二部に対して回転可能であり、
該外科用バトレス材料が、該第一部上に配置されて該第二部に固定され、且つ該第一部を曲げて該本体部の平面部から外に出すときに所定の領域において該第二部から離れる構成にされている
装置。 - 前記本体部の前記第二部に取り付けられるタッチアップパッドを更に含む、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記本体部の前記第二部に外科用バトレス材料を一時的に固定するための固定部を更に含む、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記外科用バトレス材料上に配置される接着剤を更に含む、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記接着剤が感圧接着剤である、請求項４に記載の装置。
- 前記接着剤上に配置される離型紙を更に含む、請求項４に記載の装置。
- 前記バトレス材料が合成バトレス材料である、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記合成バトレス材料が生体吸収性である、請求項７に記載の装置。
- 前記接着剤が前記外科用バトレス材料上に、実質的に均一な層で事前に適用される、請求項４に記載の装置。
- 前記本体部が第一面と第二面とを有し、該第一面と第二面とについて可逆的であるように構成される、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記バトレス材料が0.5ミリメートル未満の厚みである、請求項１に記載の装置。
- 前記本体部に対して外科用の前記バトレス材料に均一に分配される感圧接着剤と、該感圧接着剤に配置される離型紙とをさらに含み、該感圧接着剤が、該離型紙を除去する際に使用に適した形態である、請求項１に記載の装置。
- a）請求項１に記載の装置と、
b）外科用ステープラーと、
c）該外科用ステープラーに該バトレス材料を解放可能に固定するための取扱説明と、
を含むキット。 - タッチアップパッドを更に含む、請求項１３に記載のキット。
- 外科用ステープラーに外科用バトレス材料を解放可能に固定する方法であって、
a）請求項１に記載の装置を得る工程、
b）オープンステープラーアームの間に該装置を挿入する工程、
c）バトレス材料が該ステープラーアームの間で接触して該ステープラーの該アームに適用される配置に存在するように該ステープラーアームを配向する工程、
d）該バトレス材料の上でステープラーアームを閉じる工程、
e）該バトレス材料を該第二部から分離するために、該本体部の残部の平面部から離れながら該本体部の回転可能領域を動かす工程、
f）該ステープラーアームを開く工程、及び
g）該ステープラーアームとの接触から該装置の該本体部を取り除く工程、
を含む、
方法。 - 前記バトレス材料が前記ステープラーアーム上で接着されるように前記ステープラーアームとの接触から前記装置の前記本体部を取り除く工程と、
を更に含む、請求項１５に記載の方法。
