Description
本願は、2007年7月27日に出願された米国仮出願第60/952,322号に基づく優先権を主張するものであり、その教示および開示を参照により本明細書に援用する。
本発明は、溶媒の生成方法に関する。一態様では、本発明は、メチルイソブチルカルビノール(MIBC)、およびイソブチルヘプチルケトン(IBHK)とトリメチルノナノール(TMN)との混合物を生成するための方法に関し、別の態様では、本発明は、銅系触媒を用いたこれらの溶媒の製造方法に関する。さらに別の態様では、本発明は、単独のMIBC、またはIBHKとTMNとの混合物と組み合わせたMIBCの製造方法に関する。
固定床、シングルパス、気相反応系(公称直径1/2インチ、層の長さ10〜12インチの管)を用いて、MIBKからMIBCならびにIBHKおよびTMNへの縮合/水素化/脱水を調べた。MIBKは全て同じ供給源からのもの、すなわち工場で生成した生成物であって蒸留塔で回収したものである。エア・ガス社(Air-Gas Inc.)製の超高純度(99.99%)の水素を反応器に共供給する。触媒床温度は、表示されているオーブン温度から数℃(±5℃)以内とする。反応器蒸気生成物を凝縮し、毎作業日の朝に液体サンプルを採り、HP6890ガスクロマトグラフで分析する。サンプル中の水を滴定し、すべて2質量%未満である。クロマトグラム法は、水素炎イオン化検出器を用い、標準を用いて検量し、カールフィッシャー型の滴定装置で求められる水ファクター(water factor)を用いて結果を100%に標準化する。
触媒の水素化活性、縮合能および生成物混合物の柔軟性、MIBKからMIBCならびに/またはIBHKおよびTMNへの転化効率を決定するために種々の温度で試験を行うが、その他のパラメーターはほとんどすべて一定に保つ。
Claims (5)
- メチルイソブチルケトン(MIBK)からメチルイソブチルカルビノール(MIBC)およびイソブチルヘプチルケトン(IBHK)とトリメチルノナノール(TMN)との混合物を触媒的に製造する方法であって、200〜240℃の温度で、縮合/水素化/脱水反応条件下に、触媒量の二元機能銅系アルドール縮合/水素化/脱水触媒に、水素とともにMIBKを供給する工程を含む方法。
- 前記触媒がNa、Ca、MgおよびLiから選択される卑金属および所望によりCr、Ni、PdまたはZnを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記触媒がさらにCrを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記触媒が酸化アルミニウムおよび所望によりアルミン酸カルシウムを含む担体に担持されている、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 銅が、触媒の質量を基準にして5〜15%の量で存在する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
